Ben, Simon, Grace, and Lena had been driving for hours upon hours. Lena had been teasing the hell out of Simon, running her hands up his thighs, and Ben could tell that his brother was extremely effected by this. Fearing for his own safety and the safety of the other passengers he suggested that Simon pull into a convenience store parking lot. Simon and Lena clearly had other ideas when they exited the car as soon as they could and made a bee line to the bathroom.

Ben sat in the back seat with Grace raising his eyebrows suggestively to the woman next to him. “Babes…Shall we?” Grace scoffed at him as she got out of the car and entered the store with Ben following her like a lost puppy. “C’mon, Grace. You want it. I want it. Allow yourself to have it.”

Ben happened to glance over at the clerk. The clerk mumbled something about Grace being a whore. “WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU SAY?!”  Ben absolutely snapped. If there’s one thing Ben hated the most, it was someone inferior insulting him or someone he loved. Ben pulled out his .45 and blew the clerk’s brains all over the cigarette case behind him.  

In a shocking, or well not so shocking turn of events, Grace grabbed his face in both of her hands and kissed his lips with such fervor that she pushed him against the counter. She broke the kiss long enough so that Ben could hoist himself on the counter top he lifted her up into a straddling position. He was so turned on by the fire in her eyes. He loved seeing her ride him. There was something so beautiful about her being in complete control of him. 

All of a sudden, Ben caught the reflection of flashing red and blue lights. The cops pulled into the parking lot… Ben began to feel the adrenaline starting to make its way into his veins. But he really didn’t care. If he was gonna die tonight at least he got to spend it with Grace.

scarlett does not think of herself as weak. she just despises the helplessness she feels when she’s around steven. she knows deep in her heart that he’s about the worst thing that happened to her. she’ll follow every whim of his, comply to every request he’d ever make without so much as a second thought. the truth is, scarlett is at her weakest when steven is around.

steven does not think of himself as manipulative. he always tips the scale to his favor when he can, but doesn’t everybody? he knows scarlett would do anything for him, and sometimes it saddens him that he can’t feel for her what she feels for him. but he values himself too much to give all of him to someone else; someone who could easily treat him as he does scarlett. so yes, he’s as manipulative as they come.

they don’t work well together, and they both know it. they use each other, in different measures, but they’re selfish all the same. because as much as scarlett yearns for him to love her back, she knows she wouldn’t be happy with him. she simply needs to kill the loneliness, the sadness and anger inside her, and while steven keeps her always wanting more, needing more, she’s somehow content in the off days he decides to notice she exists. 

all steven wants is to breeze through life. he sees himself as the simplest of men, never asking more than he deserves. he just needs a roof over his head, some food in his ever hungry stomach and the occasional good fuck scarlett can provide.

they’ve been friends for months the first time he says it. she tells him she’s just been dumped by that dumbass boyfriend of hers as a lonely tear runs down her cheek and the words come out of his mouth before he has the chance to stop them. he’s worried she might take them the wrong way, but all she does is sigh, setting her head on his shoulder as she mutters them back to him. and it’s as simple as that. it doesn’t have to be more than friendly ‘i love you’s with them. at least not for now.
