Just my Lukluk
I just got back from D&D with my friends. We’re playing a Zendikar Plane Shift campaign, and I’m a goblin rogue named Lukluk with a small hedron sticking out of his head.
During tonight’s adventure we discovered that an merfolk merchant at Coralhelm had stolen a sacred artifact from the neighboring elves. While everybody else was busy busting this guy and bringing him to justice, my character had snuck around and found the deed to his shop and I managed to forge the documents to put the property in my name.
At the close of the adventure I went to the local officials with my deed to demand they help me evict the ne'er-do-well who had been “renting” it from me now that I knew about his shady practices.
The officials stated that because the guilty merchant had already been arrested, there was no need to evict him. But they were VERY glad that I had come in because their records showed that the property in my name owed over 23,000 coins in back property taxes.
So yeah. Now I’m facing jail time and a huge fine until I can pay those taxes. (The property itself is only worth 10,000 coins.) And I’ll need to do a solo quest with the DM to get out of this mess without dragging the rest of the party into it.
And that’s what I get for trying to be clever.
