They're called "Lumenangles" (Sometimes called 'Light Angles,' 'Lumens,' or simply 'Angles' as well, the last one usually only being used by Lumenangles themselves)
This is the species Ion an Lotus are (these two below)
Lumenangles are a species that hails from the Miridical Kingdom in the Fernweh region of the Niran Desert. They have triangular heads and their wrists/hands are detached from their main body, being kept afloat and part of the main body by magic. Lumenangles are known for their culture's architecture, knowledge, and light-based magic. They are powerful and peaceful, keeping mostly to themselves but welcoming to those from outside their city.

《Appearance》
Almost all lumanangles have skin that range from pale yellows to golden yellows
The exceptions to this are those who have the 'eclipse' gene, which causes their skin to on the black spectrum; usually almost jet black to a deep midnight blue or deep purple-almost-black.
➣ This gene is rarer due to being a recessive trait, but 'Eclipses' are still seen around fairly often.
All lumenangles have a halo, many simply choose to keep it hidden. They can make it visible whenever they choose, though when low on energy or magic it may become visible (if much duller than usual)
Lumenangles tend to only have one eye, though rare mutations can see them having 3-5 with the extra eyes being on the backs of hands, the chest, and (in one instance) the back.
➣ A Lumenangle with 2 eyes is extraordinarily rare, having been documented a total of 7 times (though there's a chance there are undocumented cases). This second eye was still found on the back of the hand or chest.
Markings ✧
All lumenangles have markings of some sort; these can be anywhere on the body but are most common on the wrists, heads/faces, legs, and around the eyes.
Markings range from angular patterns (most common), swirls, and rings to gradients/gradient tips (see 'Lotus') and colored spots— the latter two being rather uncommon.
Colors for these markings are always black on 'normal' lumenangles with the exception being those who have the gradient and gradient tip traits.
➣ Those who have gradient/gradient tip tend to have a more vibrant marking color (pink, orange, blue, ect minus neon), though black is not unheard of.
[The difference between gradient and gradient tip is that the 'tip' variant is more common and covers just the tips of the lumenangle's head, wrists, and 'feet' (can sometimes appear of fingertips too) While the gradient varient usually covers more of the body.]
Eclipses tend have golden yellow or white markings, though white is far more uncommon. Gradient and tip markings can still be just about any color minus neons.
Clothing ✧
Lumenangles are known for their long, floor length robes and cloaks
Robes and cloaks vary depending on the occupation of any given Angle, though many tend to have black in their color schemes. [Those who have plant-based light magic don't usually have black anywhere on their robes.]
Many lumenangles wear pendant necklaces, charms, or bracelets. These tend to relate to their occupation or their clothing.
《Occupations》
Many are scholars, and well known ones at that.
Many are great tailors as well
Artisans are also quite common, with many from around the Tranquill Isles coming to see and/or trade for what they make.
Those who work in the churches are fewer (as selecting those to work in it is a lengthy process to ensure the right person is picked), but are highly regarded and are quite accepting and kind. If you needed a place to stay, they usually have a few spare rooms.
Lumenangles with plant-based light magic usual garden help with plant-based decorating, as they can grow plants quickly or cause them to bloom. They're also good at breeding plants, and usually sell their seeds at the market (said plants from the seeds tend to be more beautiful and resistant than other 'normal' varieties.)
Lumenangles can have other jobs than these, but these all tend to be the most common
《Fun Facts》
Ion is probably the most well known Archivist(/priest) and lumenangle around currently, which may be in part due to where he lives and works (The Archives [Ask if you wish to know more]) (He has many titles; 'The Silent Archivist,' 'The quiet Priest,' and 'Sundrop' (A select few can call him the last one) And Ray's nickname for him is 'Non-Non'))
Lumenangles can see each other's halos regardless of whether it's hidden, though it'll still be invisible to outsiders.
This species is known for their levelheadedness and logic. They tend to be quite interesting to chat with
Lumenangles can live for centuries and even millennia depending on their magic and genes.
Only two Lumenangles have ever been recorded as having white skin (that weren't hybrids). It is unknown what caused this, though it is thought to be a few mutations that cause things similar to albinism. (These two showed more health problems than those who were simply white due to being hybrids and having a parent with skin of a white color. It is unknown where these two are now.)
Lumenangle blood is black, but looks similar to Ethiopian black opal when exposed to light.
➣ Eclipses' blood looks like fire opal or moonstone depending on whether their markings are white or golden yellow.
➣ The two white Lumenangles had black blood like most normal Angles.
➣ Oddly, Ion has blood like that of fire opal or honey, despite not being an Eclipse or having that gene. It is not known why.
Kingdom Facts ✧
The Miridical Kingdom, where most lumenangle call home, is an oasis of sorts with beautiful architecture.
It's fairly lush, even for an oasis.
Most of the city is actually covered or obscures the outside; Many forget they’re in a desert while visiting or living there
The city is an odd but beautiful mix of gothic cathedral, Victorian library, and Egyptian style architectures, working together to make a place unseen anywhere else
Often referred to as one of the wonders of the world, it’s been standing for many, many millennia
