is it ever not scary to whip out a picture of whose hair you want yours to look like and be like "hey this pls" because im like. in dire need of a haircut but im also like UGHHHHH

it definitely used to be!! i used to mostly just get embarrassed showing actors at places, but i think a good way to do it is to go to a cosmetology school near you where the people there are learning and on their way to getting their licenses, i have a lot less anxiety especially with my gender since they tend to be nicer and less mean or judgmental and a lot of people there LOVE getting to try out new things because usually they get shitty assholes who want perfection despite the people doing their hair being STUDENTS, every time i go there to have them chop off my hair whoever’s doing it gets really excited haha.

also if it helps most people look pretty gender-neutral with a high cape thing around their neck and front so if you wait to show them until you’re there they usually don’t think much of it if that’s the issue and if that helps!
