calliope didn’t want to look up from where she was sitting, just to have a little more time to think about what luna had just said. however, her body reacted automatically to the words and her chin lifted to meet the other woman's gaze. luna’s expression probably would have been unreadable to anyone else, but calliope knew this expression too well. over the years they spent together, she had seen it countless times. and always directed at her. it was tender, some might say loving, and soft. it was raw and naked and only for calliope.
she hesitated for a moment, before her lips parted. calliope watched how luna’s eyes slipped from hers for just a fraction of a second, trailing down to her parted lips. hadn’t it been for the wired feeling in her chest, she would’ve smiled at that. instead, she raised her slightly shaky hands to reply and signed, ❛ don’t you already know, though? ❜
