I’m gonna be honest, most Tales of Series OP themes don’t really make much of an impact on me. All I can ever say is that I love Abyss’s opening, Karma, the most out of any Tales of Series OP themes.

Well, I guess I can also say that Zestiria’s OP theme made an impact on me, but that’s not necessarily because I was a fan of it. I just thought the song was nice, and the visuals were nice, but they made a weird combination together, and the fact that I thought they didn’t pair well together left an impression on me.

Berseria’s OP was pretty nice too, and there was a time where I thought its OP theme would be the one I considered my second favorite.

Luminaria, though... Back when I watched character episodes on YouTube because I couldn’t play the game on my phone, the channel I was watching them on always included the OP themes. And I never skipped over the OP theme because I liked singing along to it. I certainly listened to it enough times that I could sing the whole thing instead of humming along like I did with other OP themes.

I also think that Luminaria’s OP theme visuals are amazing. Because Luminaria is played vertically, the visuals of the OP reflect that orientation, and even take advantage of it to best display their scene arrangement. Things like the way the camera pans over a line-up of the Jerle Federation characters, or scrolls over a line of archers taking aim, or follows the direction of a character’s gaze as he looks up to a building in the distance; little details like that were a nice touch.

Luminaria’s OP themes also rotated their animation depending on whose character episode you were currently playing. And if you were doing a Crossroads Episode, where the focus is split between different characters, then the OP theme would also reflect that, playing different animation depending on the characters who showed up in the episode.

And this OP theme here, is the one from Luminaria’s “ep. Final,” so it begins with Leo and ends with Hugo...

I never recorded a Tales of Series OP theme before. I never saw a need for it since they were usually on YouTube anyway. But with Luminaria, I wanted to keep a video of it. It wasn’t enough to just search for it on YouTube. I wanted to keep this version close to me.

Abyss’s Karma is too precious to ever be less than number 1 to me, but Luminaria’s OP theme is also too precious for me to ever rank it anywhere lower than 2.

I did say that Tales of Series OP themes don’t make much of an impact on me, but I feel even less about Tales of Series ED themes... I legit don’t remember a single one... If it wasn’t for Luminaria, then I probably wouldn’t have a favorite Tales of Series ED theme at all.

Like the Luminaria OP themes, Luminaria’s ED theme visuals also take advantage of their vertical orientation and rotate their animation based on the character episode you’re playing.

But this one. This one was specially animated because it’s the ED theme for Luminaria’s “ep. Final.”

I never cried while watching a Tales of Series ED theme, not once. But this one had me sobbing. For the characters I had grown so attached to and for the story we weren’t going to see continued in its original format...

I never recorded a Tales of Series ED theme either. It’s not like everyone who ever recorded a Tales of Series ED was gonna suddenly delete them overnight! I didn’t need to record it, but I found myself recording it anyway.

It’s the first Tales of Series ED theme I ever felt so strongly for, enough that I’d call it my number 1. I wanted to keep a recording of it close. I wanted to keep a recording of this version, specifically, close to me.

...I would’ve had regrets if I didn’t.

I was trying to make a compilation of both Lisette’s EN and JP treasure opening lines in time for her birthday on twitter, but I didn’t make it... This is an archive, though, so there’s no deadline to just put her lines here!

I tried to figure out how to make the video quality better since she was the first character I recorded treasure opening lines for, but I just don’t know what to do... I’m giving up.

I don’t think I can make the rendering output better image; I’m not skilled enough to figure it out. Video editing more than the basics is just...too hard...

When I first got into Luminaria fandom, I mostly stuck to JP twitter Lumi fandom. The JP Lucien fans were always really nice and welcoming, not just to me, but to like, basically any Lumi fan no matter what language they spoke or whatever other fandoms they were in...

That might just be my own personal experience talking, but it was because I met those Lucien fans that I ended up recording these lines.

...they’re probably not looking for EN recorded lines, though. And probably not with this kind of video quality... I wish I had more to offer them if they’re looking for anything specific.
