Sometimes you’re playing the game, just minding your own business, when a panic moon suddenly pounces on you! ...As a side note, it’s rather neat to notice that luminous stones glow under a panic blood moon, even if it is technically daytime. Does this happen because things get dark with the sudden blood moon, or is it because blood moons normally happen at night?
Silent Witch 106, 107 - Chapter 4
Hey uhh how much do y’all like green?
~Updates Saturdays and Mondays~
Something a theory by Zeltik & Nintendo Black Crisis got me thinking about. In Phantom Hourglass, we see the Phantom Sword forged with the 3 Pure Metals. I imagine the Master Sword would also be made of those 3 Pure Metals. But they have different names in Hyrule than in the World of the Ocean King. The 1st was obvious, Master Ore, we see it used to upgrade the Master Sword in A Link Between Worlds. The 2nd that I landed on was Timeshift Stone, because the Master Sword activates the Gates of Time, Door of Time, & Pedestal of Time (all of which must also have Timeshift Stone). But I was stuck on the last material for a while. Then Zeltik & NintendoBC did their theory videos about Luminous Stone. Master Ore is all about Light & Dark & Power. It is what gives the Master Sword its Holy Light with the Power to repel evil. It is also what makes Silver/Light Arrows/Bows able to harm/defeat Ganon/Evil. Since Ancient Tech is super effective on Calamity Ganon & the Blights (and since Light Arrows, Master Sword beams, & Ancient Arrows are the ONLY 3 things that can harm Beast Ganon), Ancient Tech/Arrows use Master Ore. Also, the 4 Divine Beasts damage Calamity Ganon. But Master Ore was also used in a different way to give Demise’s Sword a Dark Power (which explains that sword’s similar beam ability). Timeshift Stone gives the Master Sword its Time abilities. The Ocarina of Time, Harp of Ages, & Rod of Seasons are made of Timeshift Stone for obvious reasons. The Wind Waker can use Song of Passing to skip forward in time as many as 12 hours, so I believe it is also made of Timeshift Stone. The Sheikah Slate must use Timeshift Stone to freeze things in time with the Stasis Rune. Similarly, the Shrine of Resurrection froze Link’s body in time so he would not die of his wounds, while selectively not freezing his body’s ability to heal. As far as we know, Demise’s Sword has no Time abilities. Luminous Stone supposedly glows with the souls of the undead. This connection to Life & Death could provide a material the Sheikah could have used to make many of their inventions that can see & communicate with spirits. Sheikah Stones in OoT3D allow Link to relive his memories. Howling Stones allowed the living Hero of Twilight to communicate with the deceased Hero of Time. The Lens of Truth enables the user to see what is invisible, including spirits. The Hero’s Charm enables the user to know how close their enemies are to death. The Wind Waker can also use Command Melody to do exactly what the Dominion Rod does, which is to animate inanimate statues that I believe are made of Luminous Stone (the Wind Waker can also take control of certain living beings [Medli & Makar]). I believe both the Dominion Rod & the Wind Waker to be made of Luminous Stone. I believe the Luminous Stone’s connection to Life is what is used to give Life to both the Master Sword (Fi) & Demise’s Sword (Ghirahim). Perhaps every Mask that contains a spirit is also made of Luminous Stone (Majora’s Mask, Fierce Deity Mask, Fused Shadow, etc).
I really like taking pics of glowing things in dark places, as you might have guessed from certain previous posts. For some time I’d been planning on taking one of those special shining chests from the Xenoblade Chronicles DLC to the Thyphlo Ruins, and I finally got around to doing it.
