aww, yeah I feel him on that front, it loops back in on my conceptualization of a major part of this au being about recognizing when you need to let an idea die, even if it's something you really cared about/put a lot of time and effort into. the sunk cost fallacy can suck!
also, @scribblemakes reblogged the drawing of 0tt0 with his lil bad idea and suggested the name "Pet Project" in the tags which I'm super endeared to, so that's what I might be calling the little ill-fated gremlin

“I’m doing… not okay, but not horrible. It’s pretty boring. There’s nothing to do without being spotted or whatever.” He’s fiddling with a pen he managed to get, clicking it. “Stupid joy enforcers walk the streets, you can’t even window shop here.”
“TVs are all on one channel - I didn’t feel like dragging one down here anyway - and the only other radio station is… I’ve listened to it way too much. So yeah, not much to do.”
He stops clicking the pen momentarily, glancing at it.
“I can’t even remember- I think I miss someone, but it’s probably the loneliness speaking. So I’m feeling… sad, frustrated, bored, and maybe scared. But that’s good. I shouldn’t be happy about something like this.”
