Alistair grimaced, remembering just what sort of bad luck he tended to have. Sometimes it felt like worse than others, as if it were some cruel joke being played against him. "I could list to you a whole host of time I had extraordinarily bad luck at absolutely the worst time, so it's not like I can disagree with you at all there. Bad luck and worse timing are unfortunately - or purposefully, I suspect - very old friends of mine at this point."

The memories still made him wince, honestly. Not a memory lane he really wanted to be walking down.

He leveled Sontna with a sympathetic smile this time. "What is it that you're thinking about this now for some reason? Have a particularly bad spat of fortune recently? I'd be more than happy to at least be your source of venting. Especially in case I've somehow passed on the curse of my own awful luck."

Mythal had never seen the Lighthouse, in her previous life. Despite Solas... well, despite Solas trying his best to convince her. She had stayed with Elgar'nan, to protect and guide the people. And it had cost her everything she'd held dear.

But she certainly wasn't still bitter over that, all these centuries later.

She hadn't know she could manifest in the Lighthouse, not until Rook brought her here. She hadn't been able to go of her own free will, trapped as she was as half a spirit. It irked her to no end that this child had been able to manifest her here, although she tried to keep that hidden. It wasn't the girls fault, after all.

The murals on the walls were interesting. All of Solas' regrets, curated nicely for the inhabitants. Well, not all of his regrets. But the ones he might be willing to admit to, under certain circumstances. Perhaps.

"The Dread wolf is as dramatic as ever, I see," she murmured, casting a glance at Rook. "I suppose you manifested me because you have more questions?"

Rook was the inquisitive sort, after all.

Not to be that guy, but Qrow hadn't really expected the inquistor to be an elf. Not because there was anything wrong with elves, simply because he hadn't thought the Chantry would raise an elf to... well, any level of power, really.

But he supposed there hadn't been a choice, when the mark had embedded itself into her hand. Qrow took a sip from his flask, eyeing it. Did it hurt? Probably. Those things usually did.

He nodded at the Inquisitor when he noticed her looking, stowing his flask. "Inquisitor Sontna? Senior Warden Qrow Branwen, at your service." He grimaced slightly. "One of the few left, I hear?"

"You look beautiful as always," Nick said softly, as he helped his wife button her gown as they prepared for the peace talks and ball. Truth be told, he was somewhat delighted to return to court once more. The intrigue of the politics, the formality of it all, the glitter and glam, he found it all delightful. Sontna was less than thrilled of course, but it was only for one night.

As he finished with the buttons, he took a drink from the glass he'd set nearby. A night like tonight would no doubt require him to be at his best, as it would all of them.

Twisting his dagger back and forth in hand, point just ever so gently against his finger. He could easily talk about anything else, he was a mostly open book after all. Yet when it came to his past it was a bit more difficult. Between blanks, black spots, general memory loss, and trauma, it just kind of made things muddy.

That was kind of easy to tell, if not by color alone, and it being hard to forget it being forced into your body and eye.

Scorpius snorted and it quickly devolved into a series of unrestrained giggles that were far from the quiet their sister requested. They quickly slapped a hand over their mouth to muffle the noise, but it did little to hide the grin in their eyes.

They'd spent the night out at the Hanged Man with their friends and Aia, playing round after round of Wicked Grace and losing most of their coin to Varric and Isabela. What little coin they managed not to lose was spent on drinks for the table and they'd consumed their fair share.

Probably more than their fair share.

.... Definitely more than their fair share.

"Right. We don't want Mother to hear," they said once their laughter had died down. They pressed a finger to their lips in a shh motion. "Or, Maker forbid, Carver." They made a face at the thought of being scolded by their younger brother.

The Crow did not like to admit when he was sick. He would rather just hole himself up in his room for the next few days it would take for him to get over it on his own. Some broth and bread, a bottle of wine and a jug of water, and that was all he'd need.

Except... Norrim had insisted checking in on him, making sure he was recovering, and he really couldn't deny that it felt... nice. It wasn't like he ever felt uncared for in his life, his small family within the Crows were there for him, but Esha had always been self-reliant.

Yet, he couldn't help the little bit of a smile as Norrim's cool hand laid against his head, still burning from a fever but far better than it had been the day before. He attributed the broth he'd showed Lucanis how to make, one of his mother's recipes to fight off a cold. Did it really work? He didn't know, but it at least made his spirits lighter. "You really don't have to keep checking on me, you know." Esha said, his voice a bit rough and his words followed by a cough that caused him to cover his mouth. "I'm sure tomorrow I'll be back to kicking Antaam and Venatori ass."

@quiisquiliae OCs count as a favorite character right, because I will absolutely say that Tal has to be one of my favorite OCs. He's the kind of character that gets under your skin in a good way and I am always entertained by the shenanigans he gets up to, in our threads and in threads with others. Highly, highly recommend.

I am actually very proud about my ability to take a canon character from one fandom and shove them head first into another fandom and make them a part of that other fandom as if they belonged. I work damn hard on making sure their essence as a character remains while making them make sense in how they fit into the other verse. It's one of my favorite things to do and I love the challenge every time I face it.
