"I'm glad you got out..." It was the first time they had a chance to actually have a proper conversation since they'd run into each other again. All the fighting, and the darkspawn, the confrontation with Rylock, and then the Joining and its recuperation... they'd never really had a chance to actually sit and talk, had they?

Now in the keep's mess hall, with bowls of stew, and bread before them, they could actually speak about something without time weighing down on their shoulders.

"I heard a little, about what happened. The templars that had caught me were talking about you a lot. I'm sorry about Jowan..." Anders understood Jowan's fear, and his desperation to escape. Anders had done that plenty of times himself. But he'd never implicated or endangered the other mages in the tower. If this Duncan hadn't been there, hadn't recruited Elysia... Anders doubted she'd be alive now. Mages almost never left Aeonar.

Honestly, her escape from the mage tower wasn't something Elysia liked to think about. She had pushed it mostly from her mind. Which hadn't been hard, during the blight. But now that things had settled, somewhat...

She managed a tired smile for Anders. "I'm glad you got out, too. We were all rooting for you, you know." They'd all secretly cheered whenever Anders had made an escape. And cursed silently when he'd been returned. Now neither of them ever had to go back again.

"I'm sure they would have been happy to send me off to Aeonar, teachers pet or not," she muttered bitterly. All these years she'd played the good little mage, and it had all gone to shit because of one infraction, and Jowan's blood magic.

That wasn't a mistake she would make again. Even if the power she now had would protect her.

"I wanted to go and recruit others, those who want to leave, but... technically I think the Wardens are only allowed one mage per tower." Her smile turned real, and she gave Anders a wink. "The templars don't have to know that, however. Perhaps when we're properly set up here."

Gale deflated slightly, face forming into a pout. "And yet, you've hardly gotten the chance to know me, Minthara. Surely there's a chance for me to win you over yet!"

Of course, Minthara was prickly at best and downright homicidal at worst. It was best to use caution, where she was concerned. Still, Gale couldn't help but feel they'd gotten off on the wrong foot. Being on opposite sides of a conflict would do that, he supposed.

"If not my dashing good looks, than surely my magical prowess can persuade you!"

Semi-Hiatus Announcement

//Hi all! So since I have a couple vacations coming up and quite honestly just need a little break anyway, I've decided I'm gonna be on semi-hiatus through July + August

What does this mean? Basically I'll probably be lurking while I'm at work and maybe I'll even write something but I'm not gonna try and force it. Mostly I just want to not worry about this blog for a hot second lol

My first vacation is July 16 - July 22 when I'll be in Chicago and then Wisconsin visiting my girlfriend! I might still lurking while on that one we'll see lol

My second vacation is August 13 - August 23 and I'll be in the UK! So needless to say you might get an update here or there but I'll mostly be not on my phone cause I've never been before and want to experience everything lol

I'll reblog this a few times to remind people if I remember lmao and if we've talked before and you want an easier way to reach me when I might not be on here, feel free to ask for my discord <3
