There's a stranger looking back at me from the mirror. Her eyes are sunken in; no light, no hope.

She smiles and turns around as if I weren't here, as if my existence was nothing to her. I keep going with my day, although my thoughts travel back at her now and then. I remember the darkness, the coldness of a soulless being. I keep wondering what could make her smile, what could bring back the light.

The next morning, she stares back at me. Her expression hasn't changed. Then, something appears different. She's looking at me inquisitively, curiously -the same look I've given her before.

It hits me, it sinks in like the tip of an arrow embedded in my heart. She knows my secrets, that's why she doesn't smile. She knows what is hidden away from the surface. The pieces of a wrecked ship floating in an ocean that hasn't seen the light. Calm waves that have forgotten how to roar.

The ocean spills through her eyes; our eyes. It bursts out drowned by heavy sighs -a storm is coming.
