The Daishin Apollo Lunar Module toy, circa 1969.
My grandfather worked on a team that constructed the LEM (Lunar Excursion Module), so I always had a soft spot for it. Plus, this toy rocks!

My CGI early Grumman Apollo LEM, and what it's supposed to look like
This is one of the rarest space concept models in my collection. I know of only two others like it. It is, as best my research tells, the second iteration of NASA’s original 1962 concept for a lunar landing craft. The model came with its companion Command and Service Modules (shown in the second image).

Apollo 11: Catching Some Sun by NASA on The Commons Via Flickr: Description: Bright sunlight glints and long dark shadows dramatize this image of the lunar surface taken by Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first to walk on the Moon. Pictured is the mission's lunar module, the Eagle, and spacesuited lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin unfurling a long sheet of foil also known as the Solar Wind Collector. Exposed facing the Sun, the foil trapped atoms streaming outward in the solar wind, ultimately catching a sample of material from the Sun itself. Along with moon rocks and lunar soil samples, the solar wind collector was returned for analysis in earthbound laboratories. Image #: Date: July 20, 1969
