Once upon a time, there was a black cat, her fur as dark as the night. Her teeth were sharp like a wolf’s, her limbs too long for her body, and her yellow eyes beamed in the darkness as if they were glowing. She was unnatural, her mother said. That’s why she left her with the Clan cats, to avoid having to raise such a strange child. They deemed her Lunarpaw.
She didn’t like speaking to her new Clanmates, but her denmates were the worst of all. They called her names, they ridiculed her, called her a freak. No matter how well she hid in the darkness and out of preys’ sight, no matter how well she fought in spars, no matter what she did, she was just the local freak of the Clan.
But the one without sight--Beampaw, he was named… He always saw past that. His gentle voice was like honey, his pale blue eyes full of kindness and curiosity.
He was a blessing. Yet others couldn’t appreciate that kindness.
Beampaw and Lunarpaw were the closest duo in the Clan. The other apprentices made fun of Beampaw, which she couldn’t understand. “It’s not fair,” she had told him, “that others laugh at you when all you do is be kind.”
Beampaw had smiled, and shrugged with a slow blink. “They’re all just stressed,” he had purred. “Once we get older, we’ll get along better.”
She couldn’t understand. Even when Coalpaw hit his head against a rock, Beampaw always treated them kindly. I need to stop this, She had thought.
Nobody in this Clan deserves him.
One dark night, only Lunarpaw stirred. The rest of the apprentices were all cozily resting in their nests, Coalpaw nearest to her. But looking out upon the cliffs, she got an idea. She grabbed Coalpaw by the scruff, sneaking out of the camp as she dragged him across the stone ground. It took a lot of walking, but by the time he woke up, they were far from camp. A cliff overlooking Dustclan’s territory was in front of them.
Coalpaw screamed and begged, crying out apologies. He told her he was sorry, to please put him down, how he didn’t mean to upset her. She knew these were lies, but it taught him enough of a lesson that she was about to drag him back up while making him promise to never hurt Beampaw again… When he slipped from her jaws.
A loud crack resonated through her ears as his head hit the cold rocks below, and oh what a scary sound it was! But as she looked down upon the lifeless body of Coalpaw, she got thoughts. Bad, bad thoughts.
As she ran back to camp and hid in her nest, those thoughts kept going through her head, flooding her brain like buzzing flies. As the days went by, she continued staying close to Beampaw, even if he seemed to get more antsy as more apprentices disappeared.
He had to have understood that she did this to keep him safe. And then Swirlpaw happened to survive the fall, having clung onto the side of the cliff. When she returned to the camp, she told the unstable Slatestar how Lunarpaw had dropped her from a cliff when she thought she was asleep, how she saw Coalpaw, Hazepaw and Screechpaw’s bodies at the bottom. He was enraged, and called a meeting only to kill Lunarpaw in front of the Clan.
She knew nobody would protest her death, so she accepted it peacefully… Until she heard a cry of a confession, saw Beampaw get dragged over to her dead body, and his blood splattered across the ground as her vision faded.

When Lunarpaw was brought to camp, the rest of the Clan wasn’t very welcoming to her. They called her freaky looking.. Beampaw wasn’t sure what that meant, but he quickly became close friends with her. The other apprentices didn’t like her very much, just as they disliked him….
He wasn’t exactly sure what he did wrong, but he figured they’d outgrow it.
Lunarpaw wasn’t very convinced, though. Even if he couldn’t see her, he could hear how much she hated the apprentices. And then, when everyone woke up one morning, Coalpaw was gone. Nobody could find him, and Lunarpaw was very quiet. He didn’t want to suspect his dear friend, but after Hazepaw went missing as well, he felt a twinge of worry from how she seemed almost happy that they were gone.
One night, he could hear her getting out of her nest, and Screechpaw getting out of his. Or was he getting pulled out of his nest? Slowly getting up, he followed the source of the sound, staying as well hidden as he could manage. He heard Screechpaw wake up. “Wh-where-” he had attempted. “Say you’re sorry for everything you’ve done to Beampaw,” Beampaw had heard Lunarpaw hiss. “Or I’ll drop you off this cliff.”
He could barely hear the conversation over his heart pounding, being unable to believe what he was hearing. Lunarpaw was going to drop him off of a cliff?
Before he could scream for her to stop, or do anything, he suddenly heard Screechpaw scream, and a loud crack. He ran back to camp with tears stinging his eyes.
His friend was a murderer, and as much as he wanted to tell the Clan what had happened....he couldn’t bring himself to. It wasn’t that he was too scared she’d hurt him, but....part of him just wanted to keep it a secret, keep Lunarpaw safe.
Moons passed, and Swirlpaw disappeared as well. But to his shock, he could hear her return and run to Slatestar. His stomach dropped as he knew what was coming, but maybe he could stop it?
As the meeting was held for Lunarpaw’s execution, he cried out that she did it to defend him, he heard her say such things--and please, let her live.
Instead, Slatestar suddenly snarled, the old tom forcing two warriors to drag Beampaw over to Lunarpaw’s bleeding out body as he called Beampaw an accomplice. As he placed a paw on her back with tears in his eyes, he could feel Slatestar’s claws dig into his throat, tearing bloody clumps out and silencing his cries.
--Submission by @umbranoxs
--Lunar’s eyes glow in the dark more than other cats.
--Around 10 moons at death (both).
--Lunar and Beampaw were based off of this song, it also qualifies as her voice claim.
--Lunar hates the fact Beampaw went to the Dark Forest with her, knowing he doesn’t deserve such a fate.
--Lunar is very strong despite how lanky and thin she might be.
--Slatestar is a paranoid old man with no morals, so that’s why he killed Beampaw as well out of assumption of being an accomplice.
--Beampaw did not obtain sight in the Dark Forest, so he stays close to Lunarpaw.
--Beampaw is upset with Lunarpaw for killing the apprentices, but too close to her to not want to be friends anymore.
--Beam feels bad for Coalpaw, Hazepaw and Screechpaw, thinking they’d grow out of it and mature.
--Beam has a very good singing voice for his age, and often sang for the kits in Slateclan whenever he was asked to kitsit (which wasn’t often, they believed he wouldn’t be able to see the kits leave the nursery).
