     9S quickly shakes his head, backing away from 2B.  he’s figured it out--or well, part of the horrible truth--which is something SO AWFUL that 9S won’t truly understand it until he’s impaled by a different wielder of that same sword.

     “ YOU KEEP KILLING ME. ”  he says helplessly, putting his hands up so he can protect himself--2B can take hacking damage, after all--before he backpedals.  “ i don’t know why.  why don’t you tell me, if YOU’RE JUST GOING TO KILL ME ANYWAYS? ”
