"The one I'm worrying about running off is you. Considering I have to be the one here talking you into doing this." Eira huffs. She's teasing him, of course. But there is still some typical indignance in there. Proud as she was of Jin taking the steps forward he had some cheek acting as though she may retreat.

...friend.

"Heh?"

It's impressive. Worthy of study and investigation. Just how Jin can work his way so far up in favorability and then with one decisive misguided decision crumble the foundation. Or burn it in this case. Jin may look drained from a simple introduction. But Eira was inwardly seething. The aura barely contained as embers flickered and her eyes glowed.

FRIEND?!

"Ah. Yes. That's fine, I have no problems with that at all." Eira maintains a level tone through her reply, despite the bubbling indignance and contained rage at Jin's cowardice as she drills holes into him with her stare. Well. She's soon to remedy some of her grievances. And no sooner does the speaker get activated and another voice become present she speaks up. Immediately.

"Hello, Minako-san! This is Eira Kestrova, and I'm Jin's GIRLFRIEND." It doesn't need to be much said how much emphasis was put on the correction. The kind of fear and sharpness that only Jin would feel as it grated through to the speaker. "It's nice to hear from you! Are you well? Isn't Luka adorable? I named them, you know!"

Shit...

Sometimes Jin wondered if he could ever say the right thing when it came to Eira. He knew her well enough to tell when something that he said or did upset the Silver Phoenix. Her tone was only made worse by Minako's usual cheerful response, not knowing the potential hole that her brother had dug himself.

"Oh? I didn't realize that you had a girlfriend, Jin!" His adoptive sister's voice rings out from the other end of the line in a singsong tone. "Sometimes I worry that you'll be lonely, so-"

"Uh, give me just one moment, Minako." Her brother promptly cuts her off, before muting the phone and looking to his partner.

"Are you sure that you want her to know that already? I know that she seems nice, but-"

But he still didn't trust her...Or at the very least, there was a part of him that didn't want to. Minako had never given Jin a reason to suspect that she would ever try anything, but...The Kisaragi family was nothing, if not cutthroat. Since he was a child, he had plenty of attempts on his life by other potential heads of the family. There was no doubt in his mind that some of them would be willing to hurt Eira if it meant getting to him.

Then again, it was a foolish concern and Jin knew it. It wasn't as though their relationship was a secret by any means and Eira was perfectly capable of handling herself. Sometimes even better than Jin was, himself...

"...No. I'm not being fair. To you or to her, am I..?"

He rubs the back of his neck, eyes cast to the side in a mix of shame and embarrassment.

"I'm sorry. Can we...continue? I'll introduce you properly."

I don't know if this opinion is exactly unpopular, but Thouser is by far the biggest missed opportunity of any character I've seen...maybe ever? He carries his introduction arc, has a fantastic design and works as a good antithesis to Aruto...and then he just...loses...and loses...and loses. It really felt like they just didn't know what to do with him when he really should have just somehow become the final boss/part of the final boss...

"You could have opened with that," Holly huffed, trying to catch her breath. Her armor collapses into her belt, another swipe to her phone and the Driver was gone. Hand on her hip, eyes rolling, you wouldn't know that this stylish blonde was the hero if not for the fact that she'd been the one to take out the mutant!

With minimal help...

"Okay. Mask off. Who the hell are you?" It's as if she was reading his thoughts, but really, she was just as confused as he was. Yes, she'd been doing this for a few years now, but never once had there been someone else like her... Did Luca know about this? If so, she was going to punch him the next time she saw him.

"And don't try to be all mysterious or whatever. I already know what you look like under there. And I saw your uniform." Holly wasn't in the mood to play games and hide identities.

As much as Jin hated to admit it, she had a point. She had already seen him transform. Not to mention that they were, in theory, on the same side. If Jin played his cards right, he just found himself an all new ally against the mutants. After all, it wasn't like his fellow officers were of any use against them...

With a sigh, a finger is placed on his driver and the armor once covering his frame fades away, revealing the young man wearing it. "...Jin Kisaragi. One of the officers assigned to this 'mutant' case. And who exactly are you? It's not often that I meet someone else who can fight off these freaks, you know..."

He looks the woman up and down. If not for the fight that the two had just been involved in, there was no way that Jin would expect this woman of being a fellow Rider. Then again, you could probably say the same thing about him.

"And don't bother lying. I'll find out even if you do..."

"...eh? Wait. Did you already get a response?!" Eira seems taken aback more than Jin. Maybe that's not too surprising on its own. Though still begs mention. Wasn't there a certain etiquette to this? Or maybe she was thinking into the clique-y behavior at the office. Or response times to a lover. Or.

Two. Three four. And five. Five text tone alerts all at once. Now both of them were stupefied. Fortunately, Eira quickly snaps out of it when Jin reads the messages he did receive in such a tone. He didn't even try to act it out at all. Eira would have at least used some inflection. Who did he think he was?

She laughs.

Damnit. He's endearing.

"Well. I believe if she's going to be that invested and earnest, she deserves a response. You started the conversation you can't just drop off. The idea here is to break your unapproachable image, is it not?"

...that may be a stretch on Eira's part. But she had started and was leading the endeavor so perhaps it's inevitable she continues to lift the associated aspirations. Jin needed to have more support in his life. Besides motorcycles and his cat.

"At least text her that it's your cat. As for the call..." Eira gestures a hand, moving air through her lips but not finding precise words. "That's your decision."

"It's not unapproachable, Major. It's just-"

He sighs, shaking his head. No...she was right. Jin may have presented himself as approachable, but when it came to more private matters, such as family, he was anything but. Not outright hostile, mind you...But certainly not friendly either. "Mmm...I'll take the call, but you'd better not run off..." Jin mutters under his breath, looking down at his phone and typing out his messages once more. He could only wonder how Minako was able to send hers out so quickly. In comparison, he could send out his own in maybe a fourth of the time, if even that...

[Minako]: Yes, he's mine. His name is Luka.

He paused for a moment, somewhat hesitant to hit send on the next message. [Minako]: You can call me if you'd like.

Not even ten seconds after hitting send, the phone would begin to ring. Considering the speed at which he received a response from her already, the Hero of Ikaruga couldn't say he was surprised...Still, a moment to at least breath would have been much appreciated, all things considered.

"Dammit...I swear she never slows down..."

The blonde shakes his head, muttering to himself. All he could do now was take a deep breath and steel himself for what was certain to be an...interesting conversation. With that, he would click the green button on the phone and hold it up to his ear, turning away from Eira as though that would somehow shield her from hearing his end of the conversation.

"Hello? Yes, Minako. I'm doing well. I-No...I'm actually with a...friend of mine. She-Yes, I...can ask her..."

Jin puts his phone on mute and looks up at Eira, already looking somewhat drained from the conversation at hand.

"She wants to know if she can talk on speaker...It sounds like you've also caught her attention..."

Assuming that said gesture comes from someone that he's either interested in or is already in a relationship with, Jin can be shockingly receptive to romantic gestures, despite how stoic her tends to be. You'll never get a big reaction out of him, mind you, but you may just catch his face turning red as he begins to stumble on his words. Not to mention that he won't be able to hold back his embarrassed/excited smile. This is especially true if the gesture is completely unexpected.

...If it's from someone who he has little to no interest in, however, they almost certainly get ignored or blown off in some way...

That said, due to his competitive nature, there's a good chance that he'll try and find a a way to one up his partner in some way...He just can't help himself.

Generally speaking, Jin's a very busy man. Between his military and family duties, it's a miracle that he has any free time at all, so he savors what little he can get. His favorite way to waste that time is usually to look around on motorcycle enthusiast forums and listings on various marketplaces. As a collector of vintage bikes, he's always on the lookout for rare finds. Especially those that are far older than he is.
