The sky was just beautiful today so I made and effort to get out there and enjoy it.
But boy do I remember the strain of her refrain
The nights we spent together, and the way she called my name
It has been a busy Monday. I managed to slip away from the office for lunch in the gardens. Daughter was finishing off her birthday weekend festival today so I was flying solo. I met a delightful family who took no notice of the signs on the Dahlia beds. The chicks were so small and mobile! A lunchtime delight. Once I had eaten my lunch while sitting on a sunny bench, I wandered into the rose garden, so fragrant. I headed back to the office via the herbaceous border. It is really starting to bloom. There is a lot to look at in the border so I looked and walked. After work I headed into the tiny gym and did a strength workout. Daughter came for dinner, dessert was her favourite.
I couldn’t wait to get out of the office today. It was a beautiful day. I went for a walk around the river at morning tea. At lunchtime I headed to the gardens and found a shady tree to eat my lunch under. It was very hard to go back to the office. The air con was set to freeze the humans solid and so I lingered with the daisies just a little. After work I walked towards home and met Hubby at the bridge. We got stuck in road works on the way so we were a bit late home. I was determined to run in my singlet and shorts so off I went into the forest, up over the little hill and down on to the beach. The tide was coming in so the sand was soft but the breeze was warm and at my back so I kept going. When I got to the park I did a couple of 50 mitre sprints to round out the run before trotting off home. Ah warm weather to run in. If you wish for something long enough it does eventually happen.
Daughter texted me just before lunch to say she had a lunchtime meeting today and could not join me on the banks of the river in the sunshine for a chat and a bite to eat. After a very sedentary morning at my desk I did not have many steps on the clock. I thought since I had my floral dress on I would head for the Christchurch Botanical Gardens and blend in while I ate my lunch. With the return of the tourists I had to wander far to find an empty park bench but find one I did and it had just the right amount of shade on a lovely sunny day.
The sun was shining at lunchtime today so I headed out of the office and into the fresh air. I found a shady bench and gave Mum a ring to get her grocery shopping list and have a chat. Ducky seemed very interested in my conversation with Mum, not sure why. I wandered back to work slowly, admiring what ever flowers caught my eye along the way. Once back in the office I spent the afternoon working from a s2s desk. I really enjoyed standing, I flit about the office a lot so not having to get up out of my chair when someone required my assistance was quite good. I might try flatter shoes tomorrow though. I definitely don't have such a sore neck this evening. Speaking of which I need to hit the Tiny Gym and do some stretches.
A walk in the gardens when the sun was actually shining.
