hi! I know I disappeared for a bit (I started school again), but I hope you’re doing okay.
do you have a favorite Holmes movie adaptation? I watched the one with Robert Downey Jr from 2009 last week, and I’m trying to watch more Holmes movies to see how the characters and stories change. if you haven’t seen it, I recommend it. tone-wise, it’s a bit different from the original stories, but it’s a really fun time. (it’s also sometimes called the Ritchie Holmes movie, because it was directed by Guy Ritchie)

hey lune :) how's it going? did you have a good start to school? i'm doing fine, trying to be a decent human being.
the 1954 adaptation is my favorite and i highly recommend it if you are having sad days, because ronald howard's sherlock holmes is absolutely hilarious. it's not one of the ones we are used to see, but it's worth it. all the episodes (inspired by the original stories) are brilliant and very, very good. i watch them on youtube :)
i know the 2009 movies, but i hate them completely ): not only because robert downey jr's sherlock holmes represents everything i hate in a sherlock holmes, but also because watson is too aggressive. in the whole movie i just wanted to erase his mustache with one blow. although i must say that physically jude law as watson is amazing (he is exactly how i imagined watson would be, besides david burke) and that the effects of the movie surprised me a lot, they are great.
what about you? do you have a favorite?
