[ Flashback ] First meeting — Sun & Moon.
Sunhee felt her body starting to get tense as they walked inside Incheon's airport. She looked up at the slightly taller woman by her side, who returned the stare with a sweet, motherly spark in her eyes, she was happy. After all, the kid she had been taking care of for a few years now, was going to a better, safer place, it was normal she would feel that way. Unlike Sunhee. She couldn't see the good part of it. What if her new family wasn't as good as they said? What if they sent her with the army and back to Pyongyang? She was scared, she had to go through many changes in her life and leaving her family, once again was heartbreaking. Mrs Akabane slipped an arm around the young girl's shoulder, into a small hug which caused the kid to smile. ❝ You'll be okay. ❞ She said in hope she could make the girl feel better.
They approached the people who were waiting for her, another woman and a young boy, probably around Sunhee's age who was holding a plastic bag? With "Akabane" written on it in Hangul. The two women hugged and Sunhee did nothing but silently watch them. The boy looked really upset, she couldn't blame him, letting another kid in your home didn't sound exciting at all. Mrs. Akabane placed her hands on Sunhee's shoulders and pushed her closer to the people in front of them, she couldn't do anything but smile awkwardly as she introduced herself, with her japanese name, of course. The worst part of it came quicker than she thought. She felt the woman, who she came to love like her own mother, squeezing her in her arms and yeah, that meant she had to leave. Sunhee clung to her body for a long while, she didn't want her to go away, she didn't want to stay there, she didn't want to lose yet another loved one. But it had to be that way. It was always like that for her.
❝ I told him not to bring the bag, Hina, but he insisted. He was eager to meet you! ❞ The petite woman expressed as she reached to caress Sunhee's dark hair and then, to pinch the guy's arm which caused him to whine and look even more bothered than he already was, as they made their way out of the airport and toward the parking lot.
