Sure,  for  Shunsui,  it  wasn't  every  day  that  he  would  sit  back  for  someone  else's  lieutenant.  But  for  Shunsui,  he  was  kinder  most  of  the  time.  To  ensure  she  was  safe,  he  stayed  --  you  never  know  what  might  happen  in  the  middle  of  the  night  when  you're  targeted.  Though  he  wasn't  going  to  mention  any  of  this  to  the  younger  woman.  As  a  request  of  the  other  Captain,  as  the  others  tried  to  understand  what  was  going  on.  Shunsui  was  as  laid  back  as  he  normally  was.  Not  wanting  to  get  involved  with  fights  unless  it  needed  to  be.

Sitting  in  the  chair,  he  was  relaxed.  She  woke  up,  and  his  head  tilted  to  look  over  at  the  other.  A  soft  hum  and  a  smile  on  his  face.  He  nodded  his  head.

"Good  morning,  sunshine."  he  followed  up  with  a  hum.  "  I  might  have  been.  Might  have  left  the  room  a  few  times  for  fresh  air,  but  Since  you're  dear  Captain  asked  me  to  stay  back,  I  felt  as  if  you  needed  to  feel  safe  when  you  woke  up."

she was sure she was breaking some kind of timetravel rule. going into the past wasn't her intention. a lucky accident she intended to make use of to help save aerith and help the team. what she wasn't expecting was to meet her. a girl she had seen in reflections and pictures. herself.

"i'm Lene." she said, carefully dropping into a crouch to be more at eye level with the littler girl. her younger self. it was hard to believe that she had ever been that tiny. so sweet and small. "its-its very nice to meet you, marlene. da- your daddy said we should hang out together for a little bit while he takes care of a few things. does that sound okay with you?"

it was either late last night or early this morning by the look of him. disheveled. eyes still faintly rimmed with red from the stinging of the wind despite his glasses. a bone weariness hanging about his shoulders. that despite the mako enhancement and strength he could still get tired and weary from long hours on Fenrir for deliveries.

she climbed onto the barstool beside him, noticing the steaming cup in front of him then glancing to the side door for any hints. "where did you go this time?"

They had lost to the Final Days. As hard as they had fought, as much as they had tried, her friend had sacrificed themself in order to let the rest of the scions escape to the moon with the rest of the population that had fled ages before them. The ones that had never held on to hope in the first place.

Years later, with their resources dwindling, Y'shtola had worked endlessly, because she never let go of that hope. At last, she'd created a machine that could send her as aether back in time. She wanted to try once more to defeat the end of days. To save her friend. Yet, she'd have to go alone. She bade her friends goodbye, and she entered the machine. A bright light engulfed her, and then she was gone.

The miqo'te realized she was laying on the ground as she came to. "Where am I?" She wasn't sure how far back in the past she had traveled to. She hadn't been able to go back to the days when Meteion was created, but she knew it was at least before people started turning into monsters. She stood up, slowly. "Thancred, are you there?" She thought she felt the presence of his aether nearby at least.

There  was  a  moment  where  she  knew  he  wasn't  wrong.  Yet,  she  never  needed  someone  to  worry  about  her  the  way  he  did.  Even  if  her  mind  was  going  into  places  she  didn't  wish  for,  she  would  never  want  him  to  have  to  worry  about  her  like  this.  A  soft  sigh;  she  knew  she  could  fight  with  him  about  all  of  this  --  but  she  also  knew  she  could  just  spend  her  time  with  him.

Even  if  it  was  in  the  middle  of  being  quiet.

The  way  she  looked  at  it,  maybe  she  shouldn't  be  alone.  With  the  fighting  and  running.  Spending  her  time  trying  to  help  him,  maybe  she  forgot  to  help  herself.  Days  like  this,  she  missed  being  able  to  sit  behind  a  bar  and  mix  drinks.  Something  she  enjoyed  doing.  There  are  other  days,  when  she  didn't  mind  the  travel,  but  even  so  --  he  pushed  her  away  more  than  anyone  else.  Yet,  her  mind  was  confused,  yet  touched  that  he  was  here  for  her.

"Mmm,  or  a  better  idea.  There  was  a  hum  from  her  lips  as  she  moved  closer  to  him.  placing  her  hand  on  his  chest,  she  just  wanted  to  tease  him  just  a  bit.  "  You  can  sleep  in  bed  with  me,"  she  looked  up,  wanting  to  see  if  she  could  catch  him  off  guard  for  a  moment  or  so,  before  pulling  away.

Arms  rested  behind  her  back,  and  she  hummed.

"I'm  kidding.  I  would  never  make  you  feel  uncomfortable  like  that."  Even  if  she  wanted  to  know,  once  what  it  would  feel  like  if  she  had  that  warm  body  next  to  her,  she  played  it  off.

The eastern continent... It was a fairly far away land that had taken Benedikta a couple of weeks to get to by ship. Her King wanted her to ready this land for conquering, just as she had so many before it. Its capital city was Midgar, and it was ruled by the Shinra company.

She'd been gathering intel for a few weeks already and had found out that a terrorist group known as Avalanche was her best bet at taking out Shinra. Even as a dominant, she wasn't confident she could do it on her own.

She'd narrowed down their home base to sector 7, and she was wandering about, when a shock of blonde hair caught her attention. She'd seen that spikey hair in the news not so long ago. "Excuse me..." She called out, sauntering towards him. "Might you be the one known as Cloud Strife of Avalanche?" She pulled out a pipe, taking a long draw from it.
