A mess of wavy brown hair was all that June could feel at the moment, with a beating heart to match her own. There were times where the terror that fell on the school like a blanket made the wires inside everyone go mad, and there were other times where the air was stagnant with something quietly sinister. The moment now was that Euphie and June were in the midst between the two, and both of their anxiety wasn’t making up for the fact that whatever strain of weed they were given was ultimately not a good one. The girls sat in silence, Euphie coming apart from June’s arms in a frazzled mess. There weren’t many words exchanged within the hours they were together besides the occasional comment on the Netflix show they were watching. Euphie’s eyes were wide with something that June couldn’t explain for herself, with her hair falling in different directions as her waves framed her face. June took a hand and slowly finger-combed the girl’s untamed mane as she leaned toward June’s shoulder, basking in the silence.
