I know this might seem like a silly question, but what happens to fossils that were put together in poses that are proven to be inaccurate?
Often, they’re reassembled in more correct postures. Other times, however, they’re kept in the original poses as a historical artifact. One example would be the holotype specimen of Ornitholestes, which is on display at the American Natural History Museum in New York City in its original erroneous pose.
