Today I had the absolute pleasure of cambriaallison and lunsfuhd's company at Lush Regent Street and had a great geek session. They are the loveliest people ever and give amazing hugs! Thanks for stopping by guys, you've made me incredibly happy!
Can we all talk about Stephen Lunsford for a hot second?
I'm writing this on the train ride home from Wolfsbane Origins, because I have only 15 minutes of free wifi, and want to use it doing something productive, and not downloading more things I won't get a chance to read. Wolfsbane Origins is my second convention, and was pretty much the most surreal weekend in my life. Being an intimate convention, because of the 4 guests and the downtime, it was super relaxed. Which gave the convention such a different feel to Wolfsbane 2. But that really was due to how relaxed the guests were. Unfortunately I didn't get much of a chance to speak to Crystal, but she's such a nice person. Her panels that I saw were really interesting and in-depth. And by her second panel on Sunday there wasn't a dry eye in the house. It's remarkable how much the show affected the cast as well as the fans, they genuinely care. But Charlie can tell you more about Crystal thirteenvause Orny Adams should have a third career after Stand Up and acting as a motivational speaker. The Saturday panel was a hoot, because Orny loves being up on stage, and feeds off the energy of the room and we were jazzed up to here him talk because he hadn't done many European conventions. There were inside jokes and dick jokes galore, and it was pretty epic. I think I ached from laughing so hard. The Sunday panel was pretty much the polar opposite. The mood in the room was totally different, because most of us had been in Stephens talk earlier which was a rollarcoaster to say the least. The best advice Orny has ever been given is just to not care. The only person who you can care about is yourself. Being honest is what got him to where he is today, what you see is what you get, and although he would probably be further in his career by bullshitting, he is still himself. I didn't know quite what to expect when I met Ryan Kelley, but it wasn't what I experienced over this weekend. IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY. Ryan Kelley is like the big brother you wish you could have. I mean we all know how aesthetically pleasing Ryan is, but he's honestly the nicest man I've ever had a conversation with. As the 5th oldest of 15, there's pretty much nothing Ryan hasn't seen/done. If you ever get a chance to do a con with Ryan, please go for it. We spoke to him for a long while on Saturday night, about the most trivial of things, and it felt like a conversation you would have with a friend not a 'celebrity' of sorts. He spent his Saturday free time with those who had come to the quiz put on by the staff and made his way around everyone. Ask anyone who went to Wolfsbane Origins and they'd happily gush about just how nice Ryan is. Even if he did want to knock Charlie's card tower down. Ryan is someone you fall head over heels for, but also question just quite what goes on his head. Now on to Stephen lunsfuhd Lunsford. He deserves none of the shit that the teen wolf fandom have given him in the past. It is statistically impossible to not fall in love with him after meeting him, and anyone who says otherwise is completely lying. His hugs are like greeting a friend, nothing about posing with Stephen is awkward unless you ask him to. I had the pleasure of meeting him in July where on of my first impressions of him involved him unsheathing a lightsaber and him poking Charlie Carver with it, because let's be fair who doesn't. Stephen is the biggest motherfucking nerd, and that's why he is able to make you feel like you're hanging with a friend and that's it. I can guarantee what ever random-ass question you have burning in your mind, he's probably thought about it, and has an answer. Need an outfit picked out, Stephen will find you one. Playing stupid games like fuck marry or kill? Stephen has an entire backstory planned out, for the fake life you would have. I promise it's not the sleep deprivation making my eyes watery trying to sum up 'The Lunsfuhd experience' but I have a lot of people who would agree with me. It speaks volumes that Stephen keeps coming to the conventions here in the UK, because even at the con this weekend we were already asking for Keahu to bring him back in July, because the more time you spend with Stephen, the more you love him. He's just a gorgeous person inside and out. I'm sitting in the back of a train back up to Newcastle fighting back tears, trying to put into words something undefinable. Stephen has been pretty open about his struggle with his own depression, and it's something I've struggled with myself, and I can relate to Stephen on several levels. He is secure in who he is even after all the shit he has been through, and I aspire to be like that. But I also know it's okay to still have moments where you're not okay. I really hope he sees this because if I tell no, about this at Wolfsbane 3, tears will definitely be happening, probably with a 5KG tub of Nutella and 'Bratz' the movie. I haven't even talked about the stories Stephen talked about because it doesn't seem like I need to. I genuinely hope it's not the last time I meet him, because it would be like not being about to see one of your friends ever again. I don't even think I care about anyone else coming to Wolfsbane 3 as long as it's Stephen. I will stop gushing about him just so that I can mention the lovely people who also share the love for Lunsford, a passion for cards against humanity, and probably after today not being able to look at Hoechlin again after watching 'Grizzly Rage' together. Our little corrupted bambi: Charlie thirteenvause, allhalekingsterek the lovely Steph, obviously my best pest youwannaplaycatwoman, and the dynamic duo of beesterne & shawsey81 who i actually got to know properly this time Fucking post con blues man! Someone come give me a hug.
I need more blue-eyed bae in my life ♥
