I vague posted a while ago that I had drawn something sweet but then was like what if I made more that made it sad. I then ran out of time and energy! So youāre welcome and sorry!
Finished my inks and thumbnails for the week! So of course I sat back down at my desk and drew a design for Lucy Carlyle from Lockwood and Co. because I have a note of my phone with like four comic ideas to do once Iām less busy, so I need to figure out my designs!
I was thinking about that moment in the Sound of Music where Captain Von Trapp rips up the Nazi flag. And then I thought there should be a version of that but with Bail Organa ripping up the imperial flag.
And then I thought, there should be an AU where Bail and Breha call up Obi-wan and go hey, we know youāre off being an ex-space-nun/monk but we have a whole bunch of children that we need your help raising. You should disguise yourself and come be our nanny.
And Obi-wan is like ā???? I left you with one child what do you mean you have a whole bunch now??!?ā And theyāre like āweāre not telling you because the mystery is the only way we can get you to visit.ā
So Obi-wan shows up and Bail and Breha have a whole mess of ex-padawans and initiates that theyāve found and rescued (definitely Caleb and Cal) and are now raising alongside Leia.
And Obi-Wan Kenobi cannot turn his back on that. More hope for the future than he even dreamed could exist. So he stays and teaches them how to hide themselves and eventually is convinced by Bail and Breha that itās okay to teach them to hope too. That the have to believe that one day it will be safe to be a Jedi again and then they will need the teachings beyond just how to hide their force signatures.
Then Bail and Breha both seduce Obi-wan together.
But eventually someone tips off the empire (one of the padawans has shit taste in partners) and Obi-wan and all the padawans have to flee to Spitzerland (Space Switzerland).
Pick your own adventure whether any combo of Bail/Breha/Leia goes with them for as sweet an ending as you like (although I donāt think Leia could truly stay out of the fight for long, no more than Owen can keep Luke from longing for the stars)
Anyways this has been The Sound of Meditation, another of my āI donāt know who this is for, this might just be for meā AUs.
After I was scolded for working (drawing trees) when I was supposed to be relaxing, I painted a Shen Qingqiu (yes my friends did point out that there is a tree still, but as I told them itās the wrong type of pine to be in my book and therefore doesnāt count.)
Went to a birthday party with little canvases and paint! So I took a break from stressing about drawing trees toā¦ listenā¦ Iāve just been thinking about trees a lot okay. (feat. The man, the moth, the legend)
I desperately needed a break from the comics inks and thumbnails Iāve been doing so I gave myself a Liu Qingge as a treat. I think I like the black and white version more but I wanted to play around with some new brushes!

ALRIGHT alright. so previously I did an illustration that explained the premise of all this, that it's inspired by the narrative choices that Bresson made in his film Lancelot du Lac etc
to dive in more into it (because this is something like derivative fiction. I'm putting concepts into a blender and seeing what comes out of it): the setting is haunted by the previously existing narratives that started cannibalizing each other until it regurgitates itself into the more well known narrative beats, and something else about the invasive rot of christianity and empire mythmaking into settings. it's an intertextual haunting, if you will! and this scene takes place during the grail quest narrative, but the temptation of Perceval plays out differently.
in both Chretien (and Wolfram's) Perceval narratives, what 'wakes' Perceval up (in more ways than one. desire and self actualization in one go!) is seeing knights, something his mother tried hard to keep him from. so instead of the temptation of lust & etc in the Morte narrative taking the form of a lady, it takes the form of a knight. the temptation to renounce one's faith to serve something else remains.
so Perceval still stabs himself, but instead of continuing on the grail quest in the shadow of Galahad, he becomes the narrative's Fisher King because his earlier state of being as a the grail quest hero is creeping back into his marrow. it was waiting for an opening, and stabbing yourself in the thigh is one hell of a parallel!!!
that wound isn't going to heal buddy, and the state of the setting will now be reflected on your body. sure hope that Arthur hasn't like. corrupted the justice of the land or anything. that sure would suck for your overall health.
all the red in this sequence is because in de Troyes' Perceval, Perceval takes the armor of the Red Knight and becomes known as the Knight in Red.

I love your svsss comic where Shen Yuan accidentally slashes Liu Qingge's shoulder with his battle fan. The one where he runs to Shen Jiu for explanation. It's such great idea. Is it from some fic? Do you plan to draw more of this comic? I would like to know Liu Qingge's thoughts:D
