WEEKEND HIGHLIGHT: 4 MILES + WHISKY LIVE, 9/22
:: Whisky Live Boston at the Sheraton Hotel ::
over 170 of "the finest scotches, bourbons, and whiskies from around the world" / + some of Boston's finest bartenders in the house--Ted Kilpatrick from No. 9 Park, Augusto Lino from Upstairs on the Square, and a couple ladies from LUPEC (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails)--for the unexpected sidebar of "Cocktails Live"
scored a free 1-year subscription to event sponsor, Whisky Magazine; mingled w/ hilarious whisky nuts, like Big Peat (pictured here); met a super knowledgable distiller of Hudson Whiskey, Gable Erenzo; and was saved by a make-your-own-mashed-potato bar w/ bacon bits + unceremoniously shredded lobster
got to newly try the scary smooth Johnnie Walker Blue, a port-y Utopia from Sam Adams, and the whole flight of Hudson, from their soft New York Corn to martini-me Manhattan Rye / and returned to favorites like the peaty 10yr Laphroaig and Jefferson's Presidential Select, described as (and I can vouch for being) the next best thing after Pappy Van Winkle
next up this week: hydration
