Okay sorry to bombard with questions but since Jaesung is contracted with YH, does that affect his relationship with Eunjun? I’m kinda unclear on how contracts work
Also ty for keeping me sane on my long road trip I love oc lore
(im so glad my insanity has a benefit 😭 thank you for asking!!)
all 3 are actually contracted to YH, EJ has the weakest contract and KG has like the most... uh. i guess important in a way (it's required for him to survive)
and well... i think the contract itself isn't a problem, it's js' trust and loyalty that goes beyond the contract that was the problem for eunjun at some point
this is kinda their divorce era im talking about. so they almost died bc yeonghwan was mind controlled by his sibling, right
eunjun from the get go perceived YH as a like this overpowered, privileged thing, someone who could give him a convenient out of his situation
being a kind of smartass that he is (when it comes to social mind fuckery) he made his contract to be the most pathetic one. the rules are very very lose, and eunjun can bail pretty much the moment he wants
he is going thru the story with a lot of doubt put into yh's position, based on the fact that high rank demons were the ones to hurt him the most
jaesung is the opposite. he - at first - sees yh as a savior. someone who saw his strength and took him away from constant fighting, gave him a better life... albeit for the price of his complete obedience
however, over time, his blind trusts turns into genuine appreciation and friendship. he sees yeonghwan, he is the first to learn how to read him correctly etc
and his contract is a bit a more complicated compared to ej's.
it's ... more typical. like jaesung has to listen to yh's orders. 100%.
while yeonghwan provides him with his energy to sustain him
very much mutually fucky. yh gives his literal life energy to jaesung, js relies on yeonghwan (especially early on... like he would be fucked if he was in human form without this extra 'energy')
but the silliness of yh+js' contract is that... it evolves to vaguely benefit jaesung's health if required.. that is all...........
because jaesung listens to yh on his own. he (by canon plot) never once was forced to do smth because of the contract. he did everything by his own will
and eventually he gets comfortable in a human form + he has human flesh to eat,, he basically doesn't even take yh's energy at all LMAO
contract turned real trust wow...
going back to divorce era-
ej sees yh's fuck up as a sign they should leave -> he urges js to do that
js sees yh's pain after what happened and wants to help his friend
ej instantly assumes js wants to do so just because of the contract (projecting his own bs), and says dumb shit (like directly implies that js' intentions are contractual)
that pisses js off, and he calls out ej on him being a potential traitor (low blow) -> divorce happens
so here the effect is purely negative in every way, ej likely learned to hate their collective connection to yh... why would he like it? being bound to some high rank that he doesnt trust fully? ofc that sucks
but with the breakup thing, ej goes thru like 50 stages of freaking out
i mean he nearly lost a guy that he is just now realising he can't live without ???
suddenly the whole contract situation is less important
and spoiler alert each duo of lupercus have heart to heart about that Big Event
and specifically with yh and ej... ej has his moment of realising yh is just some guy. that he isnt overly powerful being with malicious intention, that he cares for them all, etc. and he literally uses his powers for their benefit.. which is what ej himself did too LOL
and obviously he does realise that js' trust in yh isn't just a contract but his actual genuine emotion, which ej can't judge or really hate LMAO
so in the end... it really doesn't affect them as much
both ej and js by the end of main story can absolutely end their contracts . it would be fine.. it would also hardly change anything LOL
in a very joking way i could say yes eunjun is actually slightly annoyed about js' contract. but only in a sense of 'wtf why some other man connected to my bf in this intricate way' but it's a joke even to him
actually he would eventually register that thanks to this contract he has jaesung around... and thanks to that contract js even managed to get comfy in his human form and all
so ... all of this to say...... yes it does affect their relationships. it also affects the entire group dynamic. but also no. they develop out of it basically HAHA
alternative example. in some human au yeonghwan could be like jaesung's boss who he keeps talking really highly about
and eunjun is mildly annoyed some other man is on js' mind but also.. the man isn't a threat, the man is okay and the man gave js the job.. so ofc it's totally fine... just cool to make a joke about ej being jealous LOL
(canonically he would be far more jealous of hyeonju actually.........)
Hi it’s me again. I’m here in your inbox forever lol.
Another lore question 😂
Demons can’t usually change their human forms but how is a human form determined? Is it related to their demon form or a seemingly random appearance? Did Lupercus intentionally look Korean to be kpop idols?
you should stay this is very fun for me 🥰🥰🥰
(ngl ... pure plot convenience here that they look the way they do and end up in korea-)
i'd say perhaps,,, each hell area is sorta 'below' a certain human world area, and therefore IF a demon goes to the human world they are most likely going to match whatever general ethnicity is in that particular area
perhaps this correlation is again like the hell itself aiding them in blending in. can't exactly show up as a random white man in some tiny korean village and for it not to cause weirdness among humans (weak ass example)
and a demon is unlikely to spawn just anywhere, i think it's like only a certain space they can get to, and i'd say even if they spawn really far away from their 'initial' location, their og looks stay the same
(therefore choosing to spawn far away is just making things harder for you... so why would one do it...)
and yea demons don't have any control over the area they can get to or how they look (minus the shapeshifter yadda yadda)
as to how their human forms are determined... it's kind of like 'best possible translation' of their demon forms into human ones, if that makes any sense?
so it's not random, it does correlate to how they look back in hell to a certain extent
+ if it was completely random it would less likely for them to keep their forms intact
example: yh literally can't be anything but a huge dude. put him in like small average human form, and he wouldn't be able to contain himself at all
the opposite thing, i think soobin (being like the 2nd smallest guy in the cast) really could never feel comfortable as someone super tall
i guess it's like putting on a costume and the size should fit you. yeah it will still suck to wear said costume, but you can get used to it. however, it's 'too small' or 'too big' or your face doesn't move in the way you are used to, or certain important features are lacking -> you cannot feel comfortable ever and therefore will go havoc eventually
examples of features that are sort of a requirement:
- like i said yh has to be tall, buff, etc
- js has to have sharper teeth, his internal organs also are not human but instead can handle consumption of scary things (like bones)
- ej being sort of the opposite, where his body accommodates for the fact that he hardly consumed food at all , etc etc etc
