its in the stars .. stiles & hazel
( -- go to a new town with your parents;
just flat out m o v e. it was simple. leave
your shitty past life behind and start new;
start fresh. except, you needed to remember
that you weren't so extraordinary to everyone
you met, including yourself.
it's beginning to become a habit of wondering
if moving was truly the best decision parents
have ever made. to leave an old house, & life
behind and start over as if life allowed them
too. it wasn't ever that easy; was never that
simple.
the town had a group; it wasn't as bad as the
support group back at the old town, where
everyone circled up at the literal heart of jesus,
& listened to patrick play shitty songs on his
dumb guitar. it was a normal youth group;
somewhere teens could go to hang out,
meet new people, befriend others, & act
as if nothing bad would ever happen.
of course, as much as hazel liked that story
as much as the next girl...
it just wasn't the truth.
a teenager with lungs that hardly even act like
lungs is sitting in the far corner of the room
where everyone is huddled, playing games,
chatting, or flat out doing nothing without her.
& maybe, just maybe,
because the past still hurt; it was written in the
stars that it would for a while.
it wasn't that simple to forget.
it's just not that simple. )
