{ Out of Distractions ; }

Though I've let most of you know why my replies are a bit scattered, I just want to let it be known that I'm currently incredibly swarmed with both working two jobs and managing the last two weeks of schools (finals, presentation, etc gross) - so don't think I've forgotten any of you lovelies if it takes me a few days to get back to you. I promise it won't be this way for long, once classes are out in about a week and a half I will have much more time to devote to all of you lovelies.

Lydia stared forward at the bare tree nestled in the corner of the living room, her arms crossed over her chest, surveying it with disappointment at how chilling it looked without any decoration. It was always difficult for Lydia to get into the spirit of the holidays, seeing as her parents were nearly always gone on business, she didn't have much of the warmth that normally came with the traditions. She had managed to dig up a few boxes from the attic of ornamets, some boxes littered with garland, icycles, small pieces she had made for the tree when she was only a little girl. It seemed such a distant memory, not only childhood — but the carefree nature she had once carried with her. If there was one benefit to having an empty house, it was having over whomever she pleased, which when it came to indulging in a bit of pleasure — Aiden seemed to nearly always oblige.

She knew he would be there at any moment, and she could almost feel the wave of relief preparing itself to wash over her when he arrived. Once a distraciton, always a distraction. At least, that's what she told herself. Having little to no family time kept Lydia's heart incredibly guarded, perhaps it was because she didn't know what it was like, how to spend time with someone without indulging in them physically. Regardless, it wasn't something she was prepared to mentally sift through at the moment. Not when a lovely set of festively red lingerie sat in a silk-laiden box upstairs.
