ICFRC Luncheon: Professor Philip Lutgendorf, Making Chai with a Fulbright
Professor Lutgendorf's research topic as a Fulbright Fellow was the popularization of tea drinking in India and its evolution into the country's "national drink"—chai. This topic necessarily touches on colonial era and post-Independence history, the rise of globalization, and changes in manufacturing, commerce, and lifestyle habits.
