Arban Sachs, an urban saxophonist/arranger from Yokohama, Japan, has released an EP “KARASUYAMA” under the name Yoshihiro Nakagawa, focusing on sessions with nature sounds. The work is a retreat that seems to anticipate the period of forest dwelling, alternating between improvisation and musical performance with the natural sounds of the bamboo grove.
The newly written tracks include KAWAHIRAKO (M2), with its intertwined birdsong, UTAKATA (M4), a lyric in a bamboo forest, and the only cover, a meditative rendition of John Coltrane's NAIMA (M6).
