i was thinking it's the same in that he had history with zssr, and there were talk about him being romantically attracted to her which i also guess he didn't try hard to deny but wouldn't admit to even way into their children's adolescence. like he does indeed treat wei ying better than jiang cheng, which is all sorts of fishy. it would make most people think like he favored wei ying better because of his one sided love or smth. it really put wei ying in a bad spot in the jiang sect. poor kid.
also him favoring wei ying better than his own son, so much so that even the kids notice, is super fucking terrible. man, maybe i'm just really mad over jfm's bad fatherhood choices. he's not helping himself or saving his family face by acting like he's still pining for a dead, married woman lmao

He seems like a nice guy, but his parenting decisions are absolutely terrible.
