I mean it varies situation to situation. I feel like with posts like this everyone has specific kinds of situations in mind but they might be different from one another. For example sometimes you might be sorry you worded something but not sorry for the fact that you spoke up. This still isn’t the best way to apologize, but it’s true that you shouldn’t have to walk back everything you said or did just because you hurt your friend’s feelings. There have been times where I have been gaslighted This way but there have also been times there was a fight made over a misunderstanding because of bad delivery.                    

But even in your example, you would apologize for how you worded something.  Not for how the other person feels.  And I didn’t say that you have to walk back everything.  I said stand by your actions or don’t.

It’s a holiday and I’m tired from family stuff, so maybe I’m not being clear. The point is, apologizing for someone else’s emotions is how people shut down a conversation rather than talk about what actually happened.

There is a middle ground.  There is allowing someone to express their emotions and work through conflict without one person being right and the other person being wrong.  If you do care about this person and they care about you, then it should be safe to engage in a conversation about their feelings.

Dismissing someone’s emotions either means you are terrified of them expressing themselves, which is a bad sign about how they treat you.  Or you don’t care enough about them to hear them out on the situation which is a bad sign for how you treat them.

You’re right, I have multiple scenarios in mind.  And quite frankly there is not one in which I was shut down or I shut someone else down that it was healthy to do so.

If you love and care about someone you respect them. Which means you at least want to know how they feel if not why they feel that way so you can avoid hurting them again.  Even if the end solution is that you don’t speak about that subject ever again, then at least you’ve resolved it so that both parties feel safe continuing the relationship.

And that should ALWAYS be the end goal.  Conflict sucks.  But conflict without resolution will end up destroying that relationship anyway.  And there is no resolution when one person feels like the other does not respect their feelings.

Yeah I loved that it was a female cultivator too! And a sect leader at that. Despite Wuxian’s opinions, the Lan sect seems to have some badass history.

The Yunmeng Jiang seem to be the most...normal, really, unless there is some hidden past I don’t know about. (Nie Sect: your weapon drives you to a mental break down and death; Jin Sect: well...Jin Guangshan happened; Wen Sect: hahaha we all know about that one; Lan Sect: assassin sect leader, also they have a weird habit of bringing back cultivation partners who really do not adhere to sect guidelines lol).

we need more awesome ladies so even though she’s long gone, adding her was a nice touch

First of all thanks for talking to me abt this!! I love these dorks and I love hearing your ideas too.I couldn't figure out who you meant at first but then it hit me like a thunderbolt: E-Ming!!! That scimitar's magical properties haven't been explained yet so it's entirely possible E-Ming has the ability to watch Xie Lian from afar!!! That's genius!!!I didn't think he was using the dice to find Xie Lian, but I can see how you would think that. Finding him with the dice hit me as more of "something Hua Cheng does to show off to his crush." If he could have found Xie Lian instantly using the dice, I don't believe this love story would have happened over 800 years. I believe if he had found the Flower Crown Prince earlier, he would have attempted to court him earlier. (Although I do admit, some part of that time could easily could have been Hua Cheng working up his nerve).There was probably something keeping them apart for those 800 years, and Xie Lian being a wandering cryptid is my current favorite idea for reasons why they stayed apart.

Lollipop - favorite makeup products? 

 Despite being a makeup artist, and generally looking like this:

 I actually don’t have many. Either I finally find one I like and they go out of production like 5 minutes later, or I find them on a trip and never find them again, or it’s a limited release, etc….

 I do currently like:

- Illamasqua foundation (not only does it have varied shades, it has a Fucking White one, for all your goth needs)

- Juvia’s Place eyeshadows. I have a few of their palettes and I enjoy the variation, and how bold the colours are.

- Cover FX setting sprays

- Any matte lipstick, because I have A Lot of mouth piercings (except Kat Von D’s stuff).

Poppy - favorite pastel color?

 Now, I’m not saying I don’t like pastels buuuuuut…..

 I have to admit that, in general, they’re not my favourite colour group. I do have a pair of mint green heels though, so I guess that works?

Cupcake - are you a good cook?

 Yes and no? I certainly can cook enough to feed myself, but I’m aware that I certainly cook for myself taste-wise. My specialty for family events is meats- Anything that runs, swims, or flies withing hunting distance I can catch, clean, and cook. Since no one’s died or complained, I’m assuming it’s good.
