Hi all !! 

It has been a wild time with the group and the year is almost over for the Luxor students. We are so excited to kick off the plot drops leading towards the end of this season, and the admin team have decided on a few changes while we finish it up. To ensure this is an enjoyable experience for everyone, the admins want to finish this season’s plot to the best of our abilities, and we believe we can best accomplish this with a structural shift to the group. After our discussions and brainstorming, we have decided to move the RP to discord for the remainder of the season. This way, it will allow us to focus on the execution of the rest of the plot, along with giving our dedicated members a space to build integrated, in-depth connections with the other muns and muses in the rp, while (of course) still enduring the torment from the Unhinged !! 

We understand that this may not be what some people signed up for, but we want to refine our plot drops so they're manageable and digestible for our members, and would love to have you all stick around with us through this change. For those of you who might not have experience with discord rp, you can find information on how it’s structure and how it will work under the read more, and we will be around to answer any questions, concerns or confusions that might come up and will be here every step of the way through the transition. 

Once you have read this, please like this post, and if you plan to stay, please send us a message on the main by next Friday, March 31st. After that, we will take a short hiatus on the main to get things organized before we announce the big cross over. You are welcome to continue all threads and start some new ones during this hiatus, as well as wrap up any threads on the dash even after we switch to discord. Also, we will be continuing to accept applications, if anyone new wants to join us, or anyone wants to bring in new characters !!

DISCORD RP INFORMATION

For those of you who may not have been with us, we did spend time previously on discord, and found it very successful, which is what helped make our decision to proceed this way with the rest of the plot. Discord RPing is not the same format as live events, though we will still occasionally have our same live events that occur already. In a Discord based RP, each mun has a own category where they can have regular threads, much like how it’s done on a tumblr dash. 

The formatting we have decided to proceed with is setting up mun pairing categories, with character pair channels, which can contain each of their threads as discord threads, so the dynamic is easily explored by anyone who wants to see what is going on. You can see the format of this as below:

Hello lovelies !! We just want to remind everyone that your character’s secrets are just that - SECRET. They should stay secret both in character AND out of character. If someone absolutely MUST know either ic or ooc, or it develops organically to the point where someone would find out ic, we will allow for that under those specific circumstances, but ONLY FOR A MAX OF TWO PEOPLE, ic or ooc. Meaning, if one character knows your character's secret, there is only one more slot available for another person to know, either ic or ooc. 

 If it comes up organically between two characters, we ask that the secret itself not be mentioned within the thread on the dash. However, please remember that these secrets are supposed to be so significant to your muses that they would do anything to protect and hide them from other people. If you think your character would let it slip to someone easily, we would like to ask that you submit new secrets that your character would be more keen to protect.

We additionally ask that no one discuss other character's secrets either, if you happen to find out. We do not want people plotting for other characters to discover their secrets outside of official reveals. With all of that being said, we highly encourage and would prefer that absolutely NO ONE knows, as it takes away from the structure of the plot, as well as the surprise of reveals and reactions to it. The reason we ask that secrets be kept a secret ooc as well is to create more fun, shock and surprise for members, when reveals finally do take place.

Get ready to celebrate love, Elephants !!

The day of love is upon us once again and Luxor plans to spend it in style, renting out The Stellenrust Wine Estate for the Valentine’s Day dance !! The students will arrive during the afternoon, entering through a pink and gold balloon arch, and enjoy the sunset on the grounds before the party continues into the night. The estate is set up to be romantic dream with decor of twinkle lights, candles on every table, and, of course, pink roses everywhere.

Not to worry for those who don’t have a date - the school is putting on a Valentine’s Dream Date matchmaking service so those who want to participate can submit their answers to be paired with someone who is a perfect fit for them. While everyone is dancing the night away, there will also be a station to gift roses to others, as well as multiple stations with favors of different Valentine’s Day candies in little heart pouches !! Because of the rumors that have always surrounded the travel students, the staff are being extra cautious, especially given the fact they are on a wine estate, so there will be even more chaperones present than usual. Hopefully their presence can keep this event from ending in chaos like so many others usually do….

If you want to participate in the Valentine’s Dream Date pairing -  While this is not mandatory, we do recommend it !! To be matched with your character’s perfect date, please fill out THIS questionnaire by NOON EST on FEBRUARY 12TH… You do not have to be attending the event to be paired, though we will prioritize pairing people who will be active so they can enjoy the live event together !! We will also pair people who are not attending for the option to do a dash thread if they would like, so feel free to fill it out either way !!

Hi lovelies !! In an effort to see more open starters on the dash and make everyone feel open to interacting with everyone else, we have decided to add a rule that any new character (including 2nd, 3rd, or 4th characters) coming in must post an open starter in their first week of joining the RP. The rules regarding replying to starters (you must reply to two before posting your own) still apply. If you have a character that has yet to post an open starter, we highly recommend doing so as well !!

Happy New Year, Elephants !!

It’s time to celebrate an end to the calendar year the best way Luxor knows how. Fairy lights have been pulled out of their boxes to decorate the New Zealand campus garden, wrapping around the trees and walkways to enhance the beautiful flowers and plants in bloom, while a hired DJ awaits to welcome every student who enters. The music will be blasting all evening long thanks to the local students preparing everything for everyone to enjoy a night full of entertainment !! Break out your best attire and be sure to grab a tiara or cone hat along with a glass of champagne to celebrate as the clock strikes midnight and fireworks hit the sky. No date is required but tradition says it’s best to ring in the New Year with someone special by your side !! Are you ready to bring in the new year and maybe make some changes ?? Or are the Luxor students in for even more drama ??

Hey loves !! Some of you may notice a little something in your inboxes. We’ve distributed the first batch of IC character tasks and wanted to fill everyone in on some of the details about completing them.      

Please try to post the starter before December 23rd. Your muse cannot reveal IC that it was a task sent by the Unhinged, but we encourage OOC plotting and discussion between the muns of the characters mentioned. 

Failure to complete the task will result in the Unhinged retaliating against your muse with consequences far worse than the assigned task. The idea is if your character does the task themselves, they're in control of the execution of the conflict, whereas if The Unhinged is doing it, your character has no choice but to deal with the consequences.   

We do ask you keep the tasks in your inboxes until you complete them on the dash. After the thread is completed, you may post the task submission (excluding the OOC portion) to your blog with your muse’s reaction to receiving it.   

Keep in mind, this is a secrets rp, so your muse’s secret should be something they would do nearly anything to hide - including doing the dirty work of the Unhinged. If you feel your muse’s current secret is not something they would do everything in their power to protect, we highly urge you to resubmit new secrets to the main.

Hello lovelies !! We wanted to take a moment to adjust our rule on replying to open starters, because we’d love to see people interacting with and posting more open starters !!  We have been requiring you to reply to three open starters before posting your own, including starter calls, but we have reviewed it and decided to adjust the rule to the below - 

Please reply to at least two open starters per starter (including plotting/starter calls) of your own. You can reply to the opens on any muse, not just the one you are posting the starter on, but we ask you reply to two opens for each starter you want to post. We will be messaging you directly if we see you post open starters/calls without doing this. Try to reply to starters that don’t have many notes as we want everyone to feel included.

So, in summary - if you want to post a starter on two of your characters, you should be replying to four starters, across any of your characters. If you have any further questions or call outs, please let us know !!
