Luxen Series 1-3
Luxen Series by Jennifer Armentrout: 1-3
This series was...something. It starts out with a chick named Katy who’s moving to the middle of nowhere from Florida, because her dad died of cancer and her mom wanted a fresh start. Katy isn’t like other girls, though. She has a blog and reads books, she doesn’t like parties, and she’s the new girl. The second day being there, she goes to meet the neighbors: Dee and Daemon Black. Daemon? He’s hot. But he doesn’t like her. Why, who knows? But Katy and Dee become besties despite Daemon. And this leads to a whole lot of trouble. Mysterious things start happening to her. She starts seeing things. Everyone is telling her she’s making it up, but she knows she’s right. Eventually, the secret comes out about the Black family.
Basically, this is one big cliche. It’s cheesy. Maybe kinda cringy. But despite it all, I enjoyed the first two books enough, and read them pretty fast. By the third book, things were just repeating themselves and it wasn’t getting any more interesting. I skipped at least 3/4 of that book. But they were pretty good for the most part.
Also: there is a LOT of sexual tension in these books. It’s hot, I can get into a couple steamy moments. But when it actually came to them doing the deed, it was like 2 paragraphs long and it was just: “It hurt. But he was so nice and held me through it. I love him.” LIKE WHAT? Maybe it’s just me but with all the building up we had here it wasn’t very climactic if you know what I mean.
OFFICIAL REVIEW:
Anyway, would I recommend these books? Yeah. I would. They’re a short, kinda fun read - cliches and boring sex scenes aside. There’s about 7 books and God knows I’m not going to read all of them. But you might.
Friend: You can’t read two books at the same time!
Me: Oh, really?…. Watch me;)
Ok, Ok, I know that there aren’t any boys in real life who is like a book main character….
But why is that??
