“Okay, the food here is absolutely amazing! I have already tried all three restaurants and I can’t decide which is my favorite,” Kenzie declared, swallowing the last of her meal before she spoke. “It’s official. I love this place. I want to stay forever. Who needs an education when you can live in paradise like this?”

Wading through the low tides of the ocean, Marcello watched his legs disrupt the current, embracing the cool brush of the rushing water. It was easy to get trapped in moments like these, hyper fixated on the sound and the sight of a natural force so powerful and extensive. He felt a blunt force slam into the round of his head, practically launching his head forward as a group of kids gaped behind him. With a stifled groan, Marcello lifted his hand to the back of his head. A lone volleyball danced in soft circles in front of him, and he heard the shouts of an approaching student. “Were you aiming for me or are you just an idiot?!” Marcello barked at the assailant, his face etched in a deep scowl.
towards the end of the spring break trip, things seemed to have fallen into a pattern. during the day, a number of students would head down to the beach, choose someone’s private pool to lounge at, or congregate at one of the few lavish restaurants on site. mahé had brought with it days of replenishing relaxation parker hadn’t even been entirely aware she needed. often you could find her sipping an orange or peachy drink poolside, eyes set on a book or whichever beautiful person had decided to share the space.
and then the sun would set. sure, the days were undoubtedly nice, but the nights were when everything and everyone would come alive. it wasn’t at all surprisingly to find a bevvy of luxor students mulling around the nearby bars and clubs, and tonight was no different. still, parker’s eyes couldn’t keep from widening in delight at the sight of luca, enthusiasm aided by her last couple of drinks. “luca!” she called out, squeezing through the people that filled the space between them, body clad in a tiny green set that made her hair pop even in the dim lighting. “my caliente, the hottest person in the room,” she doted, leaning in to give a half-hug, opposite arm held out of the way to prevent any drink spillage. “what’s the feeling tonight? are we doing shots? dancing? getting invited to a sketchy house party? all of the above?” ample amusement and anticipation flickered behind her eyes, free hand coming to rest on their upper arm.

OOC INFORMATION
This is a dashboard event that will begin at 3 PM on March 11th. The event will continue for ten days, both ic and ooc, until March 20th. Feel free to continue non-event threads throughout the course of the entire event. However, we ask that all starters are event-related for the duration of Spring Break !! Please tag your starters with #luxstart and #luxspringbreak, and don’t forget to reblog them to the starter blog.
For this event, the students will be added to a group text to encourage interactions. They were added to this by the Luxor staff so that people can keep track of one another during this week and remain safe. We highly encourage you to use this group text as a premise for open starters, or in general to branch out into threads with other students. Along with that, there will be the fun of getting a new temporary roommate - at least one thread from this event will be required to be with them, allowing you to explore a possible new dynamic with someone you may have overlooked.
During this time the main is going to be putting a hold on all acceptances, have fun and enjoy our spring break !!

Luca was relatively accustomed to having Morgan around, though it was rare they found themselves without the company of their mutual friends. Still, there was so much they didn’t know about her, besides his best friend being smitten with her. Luca could see traces of Rich in Morgan, a softness and a kindness they somehow mastered that Luca was certain he was incapable of. It was obvious Rich loved her, and it was only in Luca’s nature to grow curious about the details his friend refused to share. Their group of friends slowly dwindled as the night continued, and then they had asked if she’d ever smoked a Backwood. Luca laid flat on his beach towel, the blunt at his lips as they focused on the stars above them. They passed the blunt to Morgan, their elbow barely grazing hers. “What does happiness look like to you?” Luca inquired in an almost teasing tone. His eyes fell on her, debating how honest her answer would be. “Would you consider yourself happy?” he asked, his tone more serious than before.
parker stood at the edge of the private pool, pupils absorbing blue as far as the eye could see. blue pool tiles, blue ocean water, blue skies. if she stared at it long enough, vision blurring rapidly at the lack of focus, she was convinced she’d be swallowed by it. not the worst thing that could happen throughout spring break, she thought decidedly—aware of the way her optimism had taken a solid hit over the last few months. or, more accurately, a series of jabs with varying force. some subtle and easy to recover from, others akin to a blow to the chest. the kind accompanied by such shock that it makes it difficult to breathe—to even remember to breathe, for a moment. and, of course, parker mulled over it all in the most ironic of ways: from the private pool of a luxury resort, nestled on an island in the indian ocean.
clearly, life was very hard at the moment. as though she had an audience, the redhead’s lower lip formed a pout. what could she say? with the sudden wave of loneliness that’d overcome her, it was hard to enjoy much today. well, save for her temporary roommate. her twin capricorn, her fellow artistic soul. a flicker of a smile managed to dance across her lips at the mere sound of her footsteps padding from behind. “i think i’m entering my gone girl era,” parker announced, coming to turn around a few seconds later. though sunglasses blocked her eyes, her growing smile hinted that she wasn’t all that serious. “how does... chopping off our hair and disappearing into town tonight, potentially never coming back sound?”

Luca didn’t drink much, but they knew Andie drank even less and maybe that would make this whole thing go down a lot easier. He’d never been one to insert himself in other’s business, and whatever weird, fucked up shit her file alluded to, Luca wanted no part in it. Still, they wouldn’t risk their own head for the sake of a girl he was friendly with. “Real shit, though?” Luca said abruptly, barely throwing the petite girl a glance. “You need to stay vigilant out here. You won’t last long just playing along and keeping your head down,” they warned ominously. Luca sighed and gestured for the bartender, their body hunched into the bar counter and away from Andie. “It’s why I wanted to take you out. We got some shit to clear up.” They tapped their fingernails across the countertop, lifting their head to offer a lackadaisical smile. “Let me get you a drink.”
