PART 16- GAME NIGHT- It's the end of the week, all the stress from tests and homework and stupid essays leaving your bodies as you all spend time in the common room. Then Blaise suggests a game of UNO that turns the night around VERY fast. (special because it's an orgy. NO DAPHNE)

PART 23- Christmas at Hogwarts but everyone chooses to go home- except Mattheo, given Potter killed his dad during the second war just a year ago, and you, since your parents don't give a shit about you. Wonder how that's gonna go (ANGSTT, hurt/comfort, realized reader and mattheo don't have a lot of normal scenes)
-In which a random new student seems to stop at nothing to get you and your long time crush Theodore Nott together -
Inspired by Back To The Future and lowkey West Side Story!! ( set in 1997 ) I had so much fun writing this and I truly hope you enjoy! xxx
The halls of Hogwarts buzzed with excitement. students clamouring from class to class , desperately trying to escape the bitter cold outside . You couldn't believe it was already December , and it only truly felt real once everyone began bringing up the yule ball. You couldn't wait for the ball , getting ready with your friends , drinking and of course the dance itself. There was one issue though , you didn't have a date. Now normally you wouldn't care about having one, ultimately because all the guys you've been with have been nothing but scrubs , but considering the fact that everyone else in your friend group did , you found yourself feeling slightly like the odd one out.
You were sat in the dining hall , your friends rambling on about dresses and herbology homework when all of a sudden , Mattheo Riddle began approaching your group with a mischievous grin on his face. " How are we tonight girls?" he asks , his words clearly laced with an ulterior motive . after a few minutes of back and fourth with you and your friends , Mattheo turns his gaze directly to yours " still strugglihg to find a date Y/N?" he asks , chuckling slightly " How could you tell.? " you reply dryly , chuckling back " Don't you worry about me Matty, im fine with ... flying solo" you cringed immediately at your own words , you couldn't even try to sound convincing . " Ok then ... just so you know , Nott doesn't have a date either " He says slyly . You found it incredibly hard to believe that Theo Nott , the most handsome boy in your entire year , didn't have a date to the ball . It didn't help much that you had been absolutely smitten over him since first year . And it wasn't only because of his ethereal looks , you loved everything about him , like his laugh , sense of humour and his kind nature despite being best friends with ... Mattheo.
It all started years ago on one of the most humiliating nights of your life , your first ever Slytherin party . The night was off to great start , you and your friends bonding with your other classmates , boys making complete embarrassments out of themselves , and you found yourself actually having fun . Things took a turn when someone (Enzo Berkshire) suggested playing spin the bottle . You had never played before , or even kissed a guy for that matter , so it truly was going to be a night of many firsts. So there you were , sat in a circle , shoulder to shoulder with the rest of your new classmates . One by one , people would spin the bottle and shuffle into the broom closet with whomever their spin landed on . the more you thought about it , the weirder it was . why did everyone seem to get such a pure sense of entertainment ( yourself included ) when a random duo would go kiss awkwardly in the dark? Nevertheless, it was your turn . Slowly , you reached forward towards the empty beer bottle and spun it , a drum roll eminating from your peers . Eventually , the bottle stopped , right infront of Theodore Nott , the cute boy you caught yourself staring at for the entirety of the train ride to Hogwarts . Your cheeks blushed red as everyone around you cheered and whistled . " Go ahead lovebirds " Draco called out as Theo shot you a timid smile .
" We don't have to do anything if you don't want to .." Theo said , breaking the deafening silence between the two of you . " No , No I .. want to .. im just ... thinking" you sputter back anxiously , the truth was , you had never kissed a boy before , despite having told all the girls in your dorm you had. It's not like you never wanted to kiss someone , You had actually tried to kiss a boy in your class at your leavers disco but your efforts were rudely interrupted by one of your teachers. You edged closer towards him , the words your roommate and new best friend Pansy had shared with you the night before echoing in your mind " boys love a bold girl , I read it in a magazine once" she exclaimed , she then continued , rambling on " You know, all the boys in Dracos friend group have kissed like ten girls at least! " not sure how she knew that but .. maybe she was right , you began convincing yourself to abandon your nerves and to just go for it , to utilise the confidence your one shot of stolen vodka from the confiscation cupboard had given you and to just rip the plaster straight off like all the girls of Theo's past had done before . Theo looked up from the ground , clearly noticing your efforts . he scanned your anxious face intently , then your neck , your jewellery catching his eye. "Nice necklace " he says , pausing to reach out and touch the bling carefully , his hand gentle " Its funny , my mum had one just like this " he says softly , a genuine smile gracing his face. " Thanks Theo " you say , flattered by his compliment , his kind words giving you all the confidence you needed to finally kiss him . " So , how are you enjoying the par-" you lunged towards him , kissing him passionately . You quickly pulled back , embarrassed by your sudden movement " Im so sorry! I should've asked you before I did anything! its just Pansy told me guys like forward girls and I- " you rambled on " Its ok Y/N , seriously! you just .... caught me by surprise , thats all " He cuts you off , attempting to calm you down and chuckling as you sighed out of relief. You two were both so adorable but so , so awkward . "I guess im just more of a .. by the book type" he says reluctantly " By the book?" you ask , chuckling softly " You know what ... why don't you just try me ag-" Right as Theo was about to finish his sentence , a sudden pounding noise rang out against the door. " Times up you two!!!" Daphne called out , and that was the end of your chance encounter.
Since then , four years have past and its been nothing but small talk and timid smiles between you two . Luckily , your friend groups were in the same social circle , which gave you the utter joy of watching Theo flirt with a new girl every single weekend , ouch. So with every shot you took before a night out , you convinced yourself that that night would be the night , the night where you would put that liquid courage to use , and finally rekindle your dwindling flame with Theo. but instead , you always found yourself getting with a boy who you had nowhere near as much adoration for as you had for Theo . He truly had bewitched you ( no pun intended ) , body and soul , and you had no idea how you would ever get over him.
" I'll keep that in mind" you reply sarcastically , a faux smile painting your face . Mattheo winks at you , staring at you with his typical shit eating grin " well , I'll leave you lovely ladies to it ." you cringe at the nickname " Oh, and before I forget , make sure to check out the new boy in potions tomorrow , apparently he's a real catch" Mattheo says sarcastically as he winks , making you all laugh , which he takes huge pride in " what's he doing joining our year halfway through December ? " Pansy asks inquisitively " Merlin knows , Enzo says he came running into the common room asking what year it was!" Mattheo exclaims , laughing out loud before making his way back to his seat .
" Y/N? Y/N?" Professor Sprout exclaims , making you jump suddenly . " Your wanted in Professor McGonagall's office young lady , nothing serious im told " why on earth would McGonagall want to see you? Look , as long as you got the chance to miss class , you were happy. You stood up and made your way to her office , straightening your skirt and tucking in your shirt in the process . " Ahh , Y/N Y/LN , have a seat! " McGonagall said , greeting you with a warm smile . Despite McGonagall addressing you directly , there was one thing that was pulling your gaze away from her focus , well , one boy. There , sat infront of her desk was a tall, handsome, blue eyed brunette who was staring up at you as if he had just seen a ghost . You sat down next to the boy , anxiously fidgeting with the hem of your skirt before looking at your headmistress . " Y/N , this is Jude , he's a new student here at Hogwarts!" She says gleefully . You turn to face him , reaching out your hand " Hi Jude , im Y/N" you say , smiling at him as you watch him scan your face . " h-hey- hi !" he coughs out , as if he had just been snapped out of a trance . His startled demeanour makes you chuckle , there was something so unusually endearing about him. " So Y/N , I would love it if you could show Jude around , help him get to know the others in your house , etcetera " you smile up at her , flattered at her request " Course! Id be happy to!" " Splendid , well I'll leave you both to it! Oh and Y/N , he requested for you to show him around specifically .. do with that what you will " she says , voice low enough for only you to hear , making you chuckle lightly
"So , how are you liking Hogwarts so far?" You ask the boy , the two of you sauntering down the oddly quiet halls . " Its been good .. everyone its actually quite friendly, Mattheo , Blaise , Enzo " he pauses slightly " Theo....." " Great! " you reply , flashing him a gentle smile " What do you think of the guys?" He asks genuinely , turning to face you " Yeah their nice , but do me a favour , whatever you do try not to boost Mattheo's Ego too much .. Salazar knows it's big enough" Jude chuckles , then pauses for a minute " Y/N .. can I ask you a question?" you were slightly taken aback by his formality but you weren't entirely phased " Sure , im here to help!" you reply warmly. " if you knew something was going to happen .. but only if you were brave enough .. would you do it? that sentence stopped you in your tracks , all you could do was stare at him and laugh " Your one funny guy Jude .." you smile at him , he smiles back , looking at you with a slightly concerned face . in that moment , whilst you were staring up at his anxious visage , he suddenly began to feel so ... familiar " What's your last name? I feel like I recognise you from somewhere ..." you ramble on , he watches you , perplexed . " Do I know your family? Is that why you asked for me?" you say . you prided yourself on knowing anyone and everyone in Hogwarts , so a case like Judes really stunted you , where oh where did this mystery boy come from? " I guess you could say that ..." he retorts back , laughing to himself , weird. he must be a muggle born.
After about another half hour of walking and chatting about anything but school , you had made it to the Slytherin common room. During your time touring Jude , you found yourself growing quite fond of the boy. He allowed you to pester him about the muggle world , telling you all about his favourite films and singers and what not . You must say , hearing about all these titans of pop culture made you feel incredibly out of touch . I mean the last you heard all the muggles were listening to the spice girls ( well , maybe they weren't exactly Jude's cup of tea...) or Oasis , but Jude , the actual muggle boy , seemed a little confused at first when you asked him about the bands , leaving you utterly confused yourself . he simply insisted that they " weren't his style"
" Oi Y/N , I see you've met the new boy then" Enzo exclaims , drawing the groups attention to you and Jude. There , sat in the centre of the common room , were all your friends ... including Theo , who was sat reading a novel with such care , you were reluctant to interrupt him . God he looked handsome , his hair was slightly grown out into a mullet , which Blaise had been begging him to shave (Theo refusing to do so) , his jumper sleeves were rolled up past his forearms and his tie loosely undone , Merlin , you swear you could've had his child right then and there . " Yup " Jude responds " She's been showing me around all afternoon " he smiles at you , clearly grateful for his tour " Come sit down " Mattheo calls out , beckoning you over . funnily enough , the only free seat just so happened to be on the couch .. directly next to Theo . You found your awkwardness leading you to sitting on the floor , as that felt like the safest option. The two of you walked over to the group , everyone breaking off into their own smaller conversations. Right as you were about to sit by Daphne's feet , Jude turns to you, a look of determination painting his face " Y/N , why don't you sit on the couch?" he asks you kindly, shit. " oh no , im all good on the floor!" you reply , Theo now tuning in on yourself and Judes kindness battle " no please , I insist! I mean , you've been so kind to me already " Jude says , his tone getting almost insistent " oh seriously Jude your fin-'"'PLEASE" he calls out , clearly flustered , causing Theo to let out a chuckle " Cmon Y/N , you wouldn't want to pass up such a kind offer now would you?" Theo says , making Your knees slightly buckle " O-Of course!" you chuckle awkwardly , plopping yourself down next to Theo as Jude quickly slides to the floor .
You were cautious of your posture , afraid of even slighty leaning against Theodore and interrupting his quiet concentration , chatting to Blaise and Pansy about some strange thing professor Flitwick had said that morning . Blaise began cracking jokes about the class , mimicking a first year who had walked into his charms lesson by mistake , causing you to laugh so hard that you accidentally bumped directly against Theos arm , which was resting by his side . The boy turned to you suddenly " Y/N , your freezing " He says , clearly concerned " Oh , sorry .. " you say , slightly embarrassed . he chuckles back at you " No , don't be embarrassed Y/N , here-" he reaches up , taking off his jumper " put this on , I insist , no need to deny it this time " he smiles at you , the two of you in your own world . As you reach up your arms to put on his jumper , you feel him gently take hold of your necklace , that same necklace you were wearing all those years ago. " Hey , you still have the necklace " He says , astonished , smiling lightly . for the first time in awhile , you got a glimpse of that sweet 13 year old boy again , that kind , gentle side of Theo others didn't always seem to get . you look up at him , taken aback by him remembering such a small detail from that night " you remember it?" you ask as you chuckled softly , flattered "of course I do .. you never forget your first kiss Y/N , even the irrelevant details " he says , before turning back to face the group . You took a minute to process his words No way. You couldn't believe it. You were his first kiss . You were your crushes first kiss . If only you had known back then , you would have never have been so nervous . Out of the corner of your eye , you spotted Jude starring at you and a Theo , a smile plastered on his face , as if he was proud of you , like he had known you for longer then just a day
Later on the night , you found yourself fluttering from excitement as you got ready for the ball , laying out your dress and shoes neatly , your encounter with Theo replaying in your mind . Your roommate Pansy was stretched out on your bed , filling you in on all the "hot gossip" you had missed earlier that day. You weren't exactly listening , instead you were imagining the endless possibilities of what was to come tomorrow night at the ball , Maybe Theo would finally realise just how amazing you are , leading him to ask you to be his long term , full commitment girlfriend! there was no harm in ruling that option out... ' Ugh , Daphne was sooooo annoying today" Pansy exclaims , feet dangling in the air as she faced the ceiling. " Oh yeah?" You replied , clearly having no interest in whatever the new topic she began unearthing was " Yeah , she wouldn't shut up about her and Theo" never mind . You immediately turned around from the dresser to face her. "What about them?" you ask , trying to hide your jealousy. Pansy sighs , clearly still irritated by Daphne's behaviour "Not a clue , I wasn't really listening.. something to do with them going to the ball together" Your smile dropped . shit . It was as if your heart had broken. You had missed your chance with Theo , and as a result , you were absolutely devastated. " Oh.." you reply , trying to hide the shock and pain in your voice. Why did you care so much? its not like the two of you were together. As you felt the tears begin to well in your eyes , you decided you needed to clear your head and get some air. " Oh sugar!" you exclaim , putting your minimal acting skills to use . Pansy sits up to face you " What? What's wrong?" " I left my .. bag in the library ... im just gonna head out and get it , be back soon!" you quickly dart out of the room , your cheeks burning as tears began streaming down your face . This was all so embarrassing , it's not like you hadn't seen Theo get with another girl before! For whatever reason , this time.... something was different .
You continued rushing down the halls , steadily making your way towards the black lake - " Y/N" a voice spoke . Jude. You quickly wiped your tears , is this guy ever busy? " Are you .. crying?" he asks gently . " N-No , im fine" you say , turning away to hide your red puffy cheeks. " There's no need to lie to me Y/N , I can tell your upset.. you can talk to me' You gave him a slight smile before sitting down on the bench next to him , facing out the window into the dark night. " I just met you .." you say , still slightly hesitant to tell him about your secret love for Theo " Exactly , im a blank canvas , who am I to judge" He says , making you laugh . " Its just ... " you sigh , ready to finally unbear the weight of the secret you had been carrying for 4 years " Theo ... I've liked him for so long , and the minute I finally get a breakthrough with him .. Daphne comes along to remind me that its never gonna happen" Jude looks at you , looking half concerned and half astonished " I..I wouldn't be so sure Y/N" He replies , sounding incredibly genuine " Your just saying that to make me feel better.." you reply , a small smile on your face , you really appreciated his kindness " No , seriously Y/N , just.... trust me." He said , seeming adamant whilst flashing you a sweet smile . Wow , something about the way he spoke to you felt so .. real . You just couldn't find the words to explain it but , you suddenly found yourself trusting Jude more than anyone and merlin , how had you never realised how handsome Jude was? Even though you had just met him that day, it felt like you had known him your entire life . You leaned in , giving him a comforting , warm hug " Thank you " you whisper , pulling back gently " Course " he pauses " so , what's this about Daphne?" He asks curiously " Their going to the ball together apparently , lucky bitch" You say , making yourself and Jude chuckle slightly " I don't know Y/N , That's not what Theo told -" " Who's out here?!" A voice booms , interrupting Jude. Shit , it was way past curfew . " I'll see you tomorrow " you whisper quickly " See you" he replies , voice low . you both flash each other a smile before running off back to your dorms.
" So, How's Daphne? Still sobbing?" Mattheo asks , sauntering into Theo and Enzo's dorm unannounced . Theo rolled his cold eyes lazily , sighing as he turned around from his desk " I don't know Mattheo , I haven't spoken to her since .. earlier" he sighs again " Oh you mean when you rejected her in front of her friends?" Enzo pipes up from across the room , leading Mattheo to palm him on the back of the head " I didn't know her friends were listening behind the corner! I ,.. I didn't even know she fancied me ok? " The truth was , During dinner , Daphne approached Theodore and asked him to talk . Theo agreed , assuming it was going to be something to do with homework for potions , but in fact , it was actually a ploy for Daphne to ask him to the ball. ' Well , Surely nows the time to talk to Y/N ?" Mattheo asks softly , sensing Theos nerves " You've liked her forever and you know it , don't be so coy Nott , you get with girls all the time " Theo shook his head , this entire day had been draining " Im not being Coy Mattheo! " Theo snaps , leaving the two boys infront of him silent , they had never him seen him so serious " Look , Y/N is different , her laugh .. and her smile ..and her voice make me sweaty and flustered , ive never felt this way about anyone before!" he exclaims , unleashing a completely love struck version of himself " and merlin she's beautiful... and she's so smart too" he sighs " look... Im fucking obsessed with her , but its too late now , I.... missed my chance." He says , voice stern " Theo , man its not too l- " Enzo was quickly interrupted by a knock at the door . It was Jude.
The big day had arrived , it was finally time for the yule ball! Although the sting of heartbreak still lingered in the back of your mind , you were very excited for tonight . You loved getting ready , being able to put all this time into your self felt so rewarding . After completing your makeup and hair , you slowly stepped into your dress. finally , you turned to face yourself in the mirror , draping your hair across your shoulders. You looked stunning , you told yourself that whatever was going to happen that night shouldn't bring you down. Slowly , you reached your hand up to your necklace , playing with it gently as you looked in the mirror. Fuck. How were you going to survive seeing him and Daphne tonight , loving up on each other whilst you were alone. You quickly grabbed the bottle of vodka off your dresser and took a generous swig.
After taking about a million pictures on Pansys camera , you and your girls made your way to the ball. The hall was bustling with excitement , students clamouring and dancing around , not a care in the world , and teachers , chaperoning cautiously ( or at least attempting to). The room looked beautiful , Snow covered trees and blue lights glistening , the school had truly outdone themselves. " Wowwwww , you girls clean up nice " Blaise says teasingly , Mattheo whistling as he watched your group enter. After socialising amongst your year for a bit , it seemed as though the couples had dispersed amongst themselves , but you decided that you weren't going to dwell on the past , and instead, you were going to put yourself back out there. Chugging down your final sip of the spiked punch , you raised yourself up onto your feet and walked straight over to Jude , who was admiring the paintings on the wall. You couldn't see Theo anywhere , but that truly didn't matter to you right now .
"Jude" you called out confidently from behind him " Wanna dance?" He simply just stares at you , blinking slightly " S-sure" He says , smirking timidly. He reaches out his arm , guiding you into the crowd of dancers , everyone truly lost within the music . In the nicest way possible , Jude was a terrible dancer, but you found it sweet how hard he was trying " You do a lot of dancing at home?" You ask teasingly , the two of you in the midst of a messy waltz . " How could you tell?" He retorts back , making you laugh out loud . Suddenly , the music picks up , and the crowd of teens scattered across the hall began to speed up their dancing , a wave of joy spreading around the room. Your dance partner Jude was pulled into a dancing mosh pit of sorts , causing a huge smile to grace your face , and then , from the corner of your eye , you saw him.
There Theo was , standing outside all of the chaos and movement , simply watching you. He appeared completely struck by you , smitten even. unconsciously , you began walking towards him , his eyes following you through the crowd . all though the hall was filled with hundreds of students and teachers , this moment truly felt so intimate , as if you were the only two people in the world . this entire moment felt different , different from anything you had ever experienced. Theo slipped behind the curtain onto the balcony , and you followed him blindly.
The cold air hit you the second you stepped onto the balcony, the muffled music from inside fading into a distant hum. Snowflakes drifted lazily through the night sky, settling on the stone railing, on your hair, and on his shoulders. Theo stood there , his eyes still softly gazing at you " Having fun in there?" He asks gently " Yeah , I love to dance .. do you?" you ask hesitantly , unsure of what exactly made this moment so special " Oh - gosh no " he says chuckling " well , ..I'm sure id like it a lot dancing with you.." he says , smiling softly as he creaks open the door just a small bit , letting the music from inside become clearer . He then reaches out his palm slowly , gazing at you in the process " Can I .. have this dance?" he asks nervously . you simply smirk up at him , placing your hand in his " Course"
As the two of you waltzed in the moonlight , you found yourself getting lost in his arms. Whilst you rested your head on the shoulder of his suit , you allowed your curiosity to get the better of you" Theo..? " " Mhm " He replied , looking down at you " How come you aren't with Daphne .. did something happen?" You ask softly . he hesitates " Y/N , I'm not with Daphne because I don't want her .. I want you " You heart stopped as you whipped your head to look up at him " seriously?" you said , genuinely shocked. how could you have been so oblivious? " Seriously , I mean Daphne's nice and everything but , ..... she isn't you. " he seemed so shy as he spoke , little did he know that you were freaking out inside . He continued " Im sorry it took me so long to tell you .. it wasn't till I spoke with Jude last night that I fully realised how oblivious I've been " Jude. This mysterious boy had become cupid within 2 days of being here , what a legend . You had no words , all you could do was smile . Then slowly , the two of you began leaning in to eachothers lips " Y/N , Can I kiss you? " he asks softly , his eyes flickering up across your lips and eyes " I don't know , I'm more of a by the book type so.. you tell me , can you?" you say teasingly , never missing the opportunity to remind people of cringy things they once said years ago. he rolls his eyes playfully as he scoffs "You witch" he mutters , right before leaning in to kiss you . your kiss was electric , and it was all the more satisfying as it had been building up for so , so long.
As the two of you walked back into the hall , Theo's arm around you whilst the song 'earth angel" was gracing your ears , you were greeted by a very happy Jude . " You guys having fun?" He asks , a big grin splashed across his face . it was clear he knew something was up . " Absolutely " Theo says knowingly "Thank for your help by the way" You say , winking at Jude . You really owed him one " Anytime" he says before continuing " Look , I gotta go but uh .. I'll see you two later" He says , chuckling slightly as he gives you both a hug . As the kind boy walked away , you slowly turned to Theo , smiling " Jude , what a nice name!" .

Malfoy Manor has never looked better. It used to feel like a mausoleumâhigh ceilings draped in shadows, portraits whispering judgment from their gilded frames, and the constant, bitter chill of his family history.
Now, the air was soft. It smelled of warm milk, lavender, beeswax, and the faint, sweet scent of newly washed baby blankets.
Draco stood by the floor-to-ceiling window of the master sitting room, a cup of lukewarm black tea packed full of sugar cubes forgotten in his hand. Outside, the mist rolled lazily across the manicured lawns of Wiltshire, swallowing the ancient oaks. Inside, the worldâor his worldâhad shrunk to the radius of a four-poster crib and the low, even breathing of the woman asleep in the bed behind him.
"Draco?"
The voice was sleepy, laced with the gentle exhaustion of a mother running on three hours of rest.
He turned instantly, setting the teacup down with a soft clink. He crossed the rug in a few long strides, kneeling beside the mattress. Her hair was messy, haloed against the pillows, and exhaustion shadowed her eyes, but she was smiling.
"Did I wake you?" he murmured, reaching out to brush a stray lock of hair behind her ear. His fingers lingered on her cheek, tracing the line of her jaw.
"No," she whispered, leaning into his touch. "How is he?"
Draco glanced over his shoulder toward the crib in the corner of the room. Inside, swaddled in a soft green blanket that matched his father's old house scarf, lay Scorpius. The baby was fast asleep, tiny fists curled near his face, his chest rising and falling in rhythmic little sighs.
"Still sleeping," Draco said, a quiet pride swelling in his chest that never quite stopped terrifying him. He turned back to her, capturing her hand and pressing a kiss to her knuckles. "Heâs perfect. You know heâs perfect. I spent the last hour convincing myself he didn't inherit my nose."
She let out a soft, raspy laugh. "Your nose is fine, Draco."
"I want him to have your nose. Itâs rounder than mine."
"Well he has your eyes," she countered, her thumb brushing over the back of his hand. "Even closed, I can tell."
Draco smiled, a genuine, unguarded thing that only she ever got to see. Nothing but bliss. If anyone had told Draco Malfoy at seventeen, cowering in the Astronomy Tower with a wand shaking in his grip, that his life would look like thisâpeaceful, domestic, and safeâhe would have laughed them out of the room. There was no Dark Lord, no impending war, no expectations of grandeur. There was just the quiet hum of a morning in a home built on love. Their love.
Until a sharp, piercing sound ripped through the peace.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Dracoâs body went rigid in a fraction of a second. His wand was in his pocket before his mind even caught up.
"What was that?" his wife asked, blinking away the sleep, her instincts instantly flaring as Scorpius stirred in his crib, letting out a tiny, disgruntled babble.
"Stay here," Draco whispered, his voice dropping an octave.
He stood up, smoothing down the front of his cashmere jumper, and strode out of the room, pulling the heavy oak door shut behind him.
Draco stalked down the grand staircase, his jaw clenched so tight his teeth ached. They werenât expecting anyone at this hour.
By the time he reached the grand foyer, the knocking had escalated into a relentless, rhythmic pounding, accompanied by muffled voices echoing through the ward-shielded double doors.
He whipped his wand out, muttered a diagnostic spell to check the outer perimeter, and threw the doors open.
Pansy Parkinson stood on the porch, her designer boots tapping impatiently on the stone, holding a massive, extravagantly wrapped silver box. Hovering nervously behind her was Blaise Zabini, carrying three separate diaper bags that looked like they belonged on a mountaineering expedition, andâmuch to Draco's horrorâRita Skeeter, clutching a Quick-Quotes Quill and a notepad.
âDarling!" Pansy shrieked, breezily pushing past Dracoâs frozen frame without an invitation. "Weâve been standing out here for a whole two minutes! Do you know what the morning damp does to my hair? And where is my godson? I brought him a bespoke set of Italian silk bootiesâ"
"Parkinson," Draco said, his voice dropping to a deadly whisper that could freeze fire. "What in Merlinâs name are you doing here?"
"We came to see the baby." Blaise said defensively, stepping into the foyer and dumping the mountain of bags onto an antique mahogany console table. "Mate, do you know how many letters we sent? You didn't reply to a single owl for four days. Pansy was ready to call the Department of Magical Law Enforcement for a wellness check."
"I told you not to owl us right now," Draco hissed, stepping back inside and slamming the doors shut to lock out the chilly breezeâand Rita Skeeter, who was trying to slip past the threshold.
Draco slammed the door right on the edge of Skeeterâs lime-green feathered hat. A muffled squawk of indignation echoed from the porch.
"Draco Malfoy! Is that any way to treat the press?" Skeeterâs voice filtered through the wood. "The public has a right to know of the Malfoy heir! Come now donât be like this!"
"Go away, Skeeter, or I set the peacocks on you!" Draco roared through the door, before turning back to his two best friends, who were already wandering toward the sitting room as if they owned the place.
"You didn't answer our owls, Draco," Pansy repeated, unwrapping her coat and tossing it onto the back of a velvet sofa. "And now you're trapping me outside with the press. Have you lost your mind? We brought gifts! We brought well-wishes! We brought... unsolicited parenting advice, which you desperately need."
"We don't need advice," Draco said, rubbing the bridge of his nose where a headache was rapidly forming. "We need peace. Do you have any idea how long it took to get Scorpius to sleep last night? Four hours, Parkinson. Four hours of pacing the nursery while he practiced his impression of a banshee."
Blaise smirked, leaning against the marble fireplace. "Ah, the joys of fatherhood. Welcome to hell, mate. Here, hold this."
Blaise tossed a small, wriggling package at Draco, who caught it purely by reflex. It was a self- rocking bassinet enchanted with a permanent lullaby charm that sounded suspiciously like a war march.
"We don't want your enchanted torture devices," Draco said, dropping the bassinet onto a chair. "And you can't stay. Both of you. Out. Now."
"Don't be dramatic," Pansy said, sinking into an armchair and pulling out a compact mirror to check her complexion. "Weâre staying for lunch. And I expect to hold the baby. If you keep him locked away like an artifact, heâs going to grow up weird, Draco. Weirder."
â
Lunch, as it turned out, was entirely out of the question, because Pansy and Blaise had apparently acted as vanguard for an entire migrating flock.
By midday, the Floo network in the east parlor flared green with frequency.
Theo Nott tumbled out of the fireplace first, covered in soot, carrying a bottle of firewhisky that looked older than Hogwarts. "Malfoy! I heard the spawn has arrived! Where is the little heir hm? I bought him a miniature set of cursed wizard's chessâlet's see if the boy has any sense of strategic flair."
Before Draco could hex Theo back into the fireplace, Astoriâno, wait, Astoria wasn't there, but Daphne Greengrass arrived next, followed closely by a gaggle of distant cousins Draco hadn't spoken to since his trial, all bearing suspiciously large packages and starry-eyed expressions of curiosity.
By 2:00 PM, Malfoy Manor was housing more people than it had done in the past few months.
Draco stood at the head of the staircase, looking down at the living room below. It was packed. People were clinking glasses, arguing over whether the baby would have gray or blue eyes, and rummaging through the family silver to see if anything new had been added to the display.
"Draco?"
He turned. His wife was standing in the doorway of the nursery, wearing a loose robe, looking exhausted but amused by the cacophony drifting up from below.
"I'm sorry," Draco groaned, running a hand through his blond hair until it stood up in messy tufts. "I tried to put up anti-intrusion wards, but Granger must have helped them bypass the magical signatures, or Parkinson simply bribed the house-elves. The house has fallen."
She walked over to him, resting a hand gently against his chest. She could feel the rapid, stressed thrum of his heartbeat.
"They just love you, Draco. And they're excited."
Draco grumbled, though his expression softened the moment she smiled. "Pansy tried to feed him a sugar quill earlier. A sugar quill, to a newborn."
She laughed, a bright, melodic sound that cut through the low roar of the party downstairs. "Well, at least your friends care. But... I do agree it's a bit much."
"A bit much? Itâs a siege." He leaned down, pressing a quick kiss to her forehead. "Stay here. Lock the door. Guard the crib. These fools can wait until the boy is ready to handle this many people."
â
"Right," Draco said.
"Visiting hours are officially over. The baby is sleeping and the mother is resting. If anyone attempts to cross the threshold of the east wing with another enchanted chess set, a silk bib, or a reporter from the Prophet, I will personally ensure your next family reunion takes place in Azkaban."
"And Blaise, take your oversized diaper bags. Theo, take your firewhiskyâwhich, by the way, is appallingâand get out of my house. Greengrass, don't look at me like that, take your cousins and use the front door."
"You're throwing us out?" Theo feigned deep emotional distress, clutching his chest. "After we traveled all this way to bless the child?"
"I am giving you three seconds before I let the house-elves pack your bags," Draco said, offering a tight, utterly unapologetic smile. "One. Two..."
Before he could hit three, the mass exodus began. Shuffling feet, muttered complaints about hospitality, and the frantic rustling of coats filled the foyer. Within minutes, the Floo network was roaring green again as body after body tumbled back out into London, eager to escape the wrath of the new father.
Blaise was the last to leave. He paused by the fireplace, grabbing his coat, and looked at Draco with a knowing grin.
"You're soft, Malfoy."
"Age mellows a man," Draco replied dryly. "Now, get out."
With a flash of green fire, Blaise was gone.
â
It was absolute, pristine quiet.
Draco let out a long, shuddering breath, his shoulders finally dropping from their defensive hunch. He walked slowly back up the stairs, his footsteps echoing softly in the empty corridor.
When he pushed open the door to the room, the scene inside made every bit of the afternoonâs stress melt away into nothingness.
His wife was sitting back in the rocking chair by the window, the soft evening light catching the gold in her hair. Cradled securely in her arms was Scorpius. The baby was wide awake now, blinking up at his mother with wide, impossibly gray eyes, completely content.
Draco walked over quietly, leaning over the back of the chair. He wrapped his arms around both of them, resting his chin comfortably on his wifeâs shoulder.
"Are they gone?" she whispered, smiling up at him.
"Evacuated. Dispersed. Banished to the nether realms," Draco murmured against her skin, breathing in the scent of baby powder and vanilla.
She chuckled softly, shifting slightly so Draco could get a better look at their son.
Scorpius let out a tiny coo, his small hand reaching up blindly until one of his microscopic fingers accidentally brushed against Dracoâs thumb. The tiny hand automatically curled around his finger with surprising strength.
Draco stared down at the tiny hand, his grey eyes shining with a sudden depth of emotion. He gently squeezed the baby's hand back, careful not to crush fingers so fragile they felt like spun glass.
"He likes his father quite a lot," she whispered softly.
Outside, the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of deep amber. Inside, wrapped in the warmth of each other.
Just the quiet hum of home.
Nothing but bliss.
â
Later that afternoon, Draco had the pleasure to receive a letter from Harry Potter himself.
Malfoy,
Ginny, Ron, Hermione, and I are planning to visit this Saturday afternoon to finally meet the little one properly. Albus will be thrilled to have a friend his age.
Donât bother trying to lock the gates or set up anymore wards by the way. Hermione checked them last week and already mapped a bypass.
summary: the first party after you and theo broke up, and itâs not going wellâŠ
warnings: sad, breakup vibes, (heavily) drinking (not specified if underage), angsty?
note: andddd iâm back!! i have a few fics pre-written, which are gonna come out in the next few days, but after that iâm gonna stick to use better grammar (đđ) just so you know :)
your eyes were fixed on him.
theo nott was sitting together with the rest of his friends, all of them drinks in their hands.
you stood across the room, your back facing the rest of the party guests, your friends surrounding but not really seeing you.
your chest felt tight, like someone had wrapped it in a too-small cage.
laughter and music swirled around you, but it couldnât reach past the knot in your stomach. past the pain, or the inner turmoil that had clung to your body these past few weeks.
theo glanced up, caught your stare for a heartbeat, and then looked away, pretending like nothing had happened.
like you were nothing at all.
he looked fine, not like someone that had broken up with his longterm girlfriend only weeks ago. it didn't seem like the end of your relationship now meant anything to him.
but at the same time, theo had always been good at hiding his feelings, so maybe your eyes were just betraying you.
you felt so small at this party. you wanted to shrink into the floor, to disappear, but your feet stayed planted, betraying you like theo had done.
you swirled your drink in the plastic cup, trying to decide if you should drink all of it at once or nothing at all.
you tilted the cup, letting the amber liquid catch the light, and for a moment, it felt like the world had slowed down just for you.
what did it matter if you drank until morning?
what did it matter if you didn't?
your friends were talking over each other, their voices distant and muffled, like you were listening from underwater.
"gosh" daphne's voice was sudden. too loud, too much. "you look like hell" she looked you up and down.
her wandering eyes didn't miss the way the skirt hung low on your form or the top that had at least three stains on it. tears, maybe, or alcohol. your face was a whole other story, thick rings layering under your eyes. so heavy, all the concealer you had plastered over them did absolutely nothing.
"thanks" you said, your voice montone and tired, almost inaudible over the music.
daphne threw a look into your cup, sniffed and then shook her head. "yeah⊠maybe drinking's not gonna fix this" she said, her tone sharp but not unkind, as she reached for the cup.
you pulled it back against your chest.
"oooo-kay" daphne said, her voice dragging the syllables, her eyes wide, clearly understanding in which direction the evening was probably going.
"you said he wouldn't be here tonight" your eyes glanced back over to theo, who was taking a shot with enzo at the moment.
"well" daphne said, following your eyes. "i thought he wouldn't. you know, theo and parties never really worked together" she finished with a shrug, a half-smile tugging at her lips. "but apparently, tonightâs an exception."
"great" you spat sarcastically, emtpying your cup in one giant gulp. you brushed your hand over your mouth, getting rid of the few remaining drops that hadn't made it into your mouth.
"look, love" daphne said, following you to the drinks table. "i thought this would be good for you. you've been stuck in the dorm for weeks, ever sinceâ"
"theo broke off with my pathetic ass, i know" you lowered your gaze to check the bottles on the table. "i was there, daphne"
"yeah, of course" daphne chuckled awkwardly, "although i would've described the situation a little differently"
"same difference" you shurgged, reaching for a bottle and tiping it into your cup, the content slashing as it plunged into the plastic, echoing with a sharp splash.
"i just wantedâ" she interrupted herself, eyes wide, as she quickly grabbed the vodka bottle from your hand. "merlin, maybe not tonight"
"why not?" you shrugged carelessly, pulling the cup up to your mouth and taking a sip, grimacing. "just as miserable as every other night for the rest of my life, probably"
"melodramatic" daphne noted.
"realistic" you countered. "i have seen statistics"
"statistics?" daphne repeated. "on break-ups?" she added. "where?"
"wellâŠi talked to blaise. and he had this textbook" you mumbled, staring at the floor. "some⊠psychology one. statistics on⊠heartbreak or something."
"love" daphne cooed, shaking her head. "didn't i tell not to talk to blaise about those things?" she shook her head and crossed her arms. "he's the most miserable asshole of them all."
"after theo" you added.
"after theo, yeah" daphne nodded, as she followed your gaze to the couch theo and the others were still lounging on."
"how can he be so.. okay?" you asked, tears already forming in your eyes, as your voice turned whiny. "while i feel like.."
"feel like what, darling?"
you shrugged. "an open wound, i guess?"
daphneâs eyebrows shot up, and she let out a small, incredulous laugh. "an open wound? love, thatâs⊠dramatic, even for you."
you pressed your hands to your face for a moment, blinking rapidly to keep the tears from falling. "i mean⊠isnât it obvious? he broke up with me, and iâmâ"
"devastated, yes, i see that" daphne interrupted gently, stepping closer. "but the thing is⊠heâs good at hiding it. theoâs always been like that. you know him best. but it doesnât mean he doesnât care, or that heâs moved on. it just⊠looks that way."
you let out a shaky breath, staring back at him as he laughed with enzo, the image cutting into you sharper than any words. "it doesnât feel like it" you whispered. "it feels like he⊠doesnât even remember me."
"oh, love" she looked her arms around you, pressing you against her body.
"we used to be everyone's example for the perfect couple. theo and i, look at us, we had it all figured out" you sniffled. "turns out we werenât that perfect after all."
you pulled away from the hug, setting the cup to your mouth and drinking as much as possible from the disgusting vodka. "god, how i hate this.â
daphne smiled softly. "it will pass."
"yeah" you said, your eyes still fixed on theo. he looked up, his gaze locking on you.
neither of you did or said anything as you looked at each other in the middle of a party. people crossing your line of sight, but you continued to look, neither of you breaking the eye contact.
"maybe it just feels like the world is ending right now" you said softly, not looking away.
theo brushed a hand through his hair and the look on his face was questioning. a quiet 'are you alright', maybe..
you nodded softly and he did the same back, before he turned his head, continuing his conversation with the others.
"and maybe it will feel like that for a little while longer" you pushed the cup into daphne's hand, adjusting your skirt. "i tried. at least, i tried."
"yeah" daphne muttered, stunned.
you smiled at her once more, before you turned around and left the room.
eventually, you would go to parties.
you would find new friends, find someone new to love.
you would laugh.
just not now, while the pain was still raw, still clawing at the edges of your chest.
but someday, when the ache would have dulled and the memories no longer cut so deep, you would open yourself to the world again.
and when that day came, you would feel whole. and your trying would be rewarded eventually.

Summary: Y/N feels invisible next to her beautiful sister, unaware that someone sees her as the most beautiful girl in the world.
Warnings: None Greengrass!reader, Ravenclaw!reader
Being a Greengrass came with a life steeped in luxury, influence, and a name that carried weight in every corner of the wizarding world. It was a name that inspired envy in some and admiration in others. From the moment Y/N and her two sisters were old enough to walk, they were raised in a world far removed from the struggles of the average witch or wizard. Their childhood was a tapestry of polished manners, fine clothes, and an education curated by the best tutors money could buy.
Summers were never spent idly at home. Instead, the Greengrass family traveled the globeâParis one year, Cairo the next, and the pristine beaches of the Amalfi Coast the summer after that. Each trip was an education in culture and refinement, though it was also an excuse to indulge in the finest that each destination had to offer.
Wealth was measured in more than just Galleons in the Greengrass household; it was in the way their father could open any door, strike any deal, and ensure his daughters never knew the meaning of âno.â Y/N and her sisters were spoiled in the truest sense of the word, their father treating them like precious jewels to be admired, protected, andâmore often than notâlavishly gifted. From custom broomsticks to gowns tailored from the rarest fabrics, his little princesses never went without.
Y/N and her twin sister, Daphne, had always shared an unshakable bond. From the moment they could toddle about the Greengrass estate, they were inseparableâtwo halves of the same whole, always found side by side whether it was in the gardens, on a broom, or sneaking sweets from the kitchens. They shared secrets, laughter, and an unspoken understanding that only twins could truly know.
But Hogwarts changed everything. For the first time in eleven years, the Sorting Hat split them apart. Daphne, with her effortless charm and pure-blood confidence, slipped easily into Slytherin. Y/N, with her curiosity and quick wit, found herself among the Ravenclaws.
Over the years, their paths grew more distinct. Daphne became the very image of a high-society pure-blood beautyâpoised, stylish, and always in the spotlight. Y/N was no less polished, but her heart belonged to the quiet corners of the library, her time spent chasing knowledge instead of the latest beauty trend. It wasnât that she didnât care about her looksâshe was raised to be perfect and properâit was that her energy went elsewhere.
Still, Y/N couldnât help but feel like people noticed Daphne more. Her sisterâs beauty was the kind that turned heads instantly, while Y/Nâs felt⊠quieter. Subtle. She had been told she was just as prettyâsometimes even more soâbut when the room seemed to orbit Daphne, it was hard not to wonder if people preferred the twin who shone brighter in social circles over the one buried in books.
Everything changed in their fifth year, the moment Slytherin and Ravenclaw began sharing double Potions. That particular morning, Y/N was running lateâher satchel slung over one shoulder, quill still tucked behind her ear, hair slightly windblown from her hurried walk through the dungeons. By the time she slipped into the classroom, every seat among her fellow Ravenclaws had already been claimed. The remaining tables were occupied by Slytherins, who regarded the other house with a mix of disdain and amusement, their trademark sneers and eye-rolls daring anyone to sit beside them.
From behind his desk, Professor Snape paused mid-sentence. His dark eyes flicked to the doorway, his brow arching ever so slightly at the sight of the tardy Greengrass twin.
âMiss Greengrass,â he drawled, âhow generous of you to join us.â
There was no real venom in his toneâjust the faintest shadow of sarcasm. And, by some unspoken miracle, he let the matter drop without docking points, returning to his lecture as though her late arrival were hardly worth the trouble.
Daphne and Y/N had discussed this phenomenon before. Their conclusion was simple: Snape had a particular tendency to overlook Y/Nâs minor mishaps, whether it was arriving late, speaking out of turn, or forgetting an ingredient because she was a Greengrass. And perhaps, more importantly, because her sister happened to be in Slytherin.
Y/N scanned the room, eyes drifting over the sea of green-trimmed robes until she spotted Daphneâs group. One seat remained unclaimed, right beside Draco Malfoy. With little choice, she crossed the room and slid onto the bench beside him.
She had met Draco a handful of times beforeânot only through her sisterâs friendship with him, but also thanks to the unspoken network of the wizarding worldâs wealthiest pure-blood families. In their world, the Greengrass and Malfoy names were bound to cross paths, whether at grand galas, private functions, or the sort of holiday gatherings where politics were discussed in hushed tones over crystal goblets.
Daphne, sitting in front of Draco, turned in her seat, raising a perfectly shaped eyebrow.
Y/N rolled her eyes. âLost track of time at the library,â she whispered.
Daphne smirked knowingly. âOf course you did.â She turned back around, immediately leaning toward Pansy to whisper something that made them both laugh softlyâprobably gossip about some boy in their year.
Draco glanced sideways at Y/N, quill tapping idly against his parchment. Heâd known her for years through pure-blood circles, though never as well as heâd liked. She wasnât like her sisterâDaphneâs beauty was obvious, but Y/Nâs was the kind that crept up on you and stayed. To him, she wasnât just as pretty as Daphne; she was breathtaking. The way her sharp mind paired with that quiet confidence made her⊠dangerous, in the best way. She was the only girl he knew who could match himâchallenge himâand he liked it.
Chloe, I know your sister turns everyone on,
But youâre the one I want
A thought crossed his mind, one heâd never dare say aloud: Daphne might turn heads, but youâre the one I want.
He smirked faintly and leaned closer. âYou really ought to stop tormenting Granger by being the best at every subject in Hogwarts.â
Y/N arched a brow, opening her Potions notes. âThat is never going to happen. Granger needs to learn she canât academically beat me.â
Draco chuckled, the sound low and warm. Merlin, he thought, watching her scribble down notes. She doesnât even realise sheâs the most beautiful girl in the room.
After a while, Snape finished outlining the dayâs assignment, and a list of ingredients appeared on the board in his neat, angular script. The room shifted into quiet motion, cauldrons set aflame, pages turned, and the faint sound of vials clinking together.
Draco stood, moving with an easy confidence toward the ingredient shelves. âStay here,â he said over his shoulder, as though it were obvious she wouldnât dare follow.
âBossy,â Y/N murmured under her breath, pulling her hair back with a ribbon and setting her notes in precise order.
When he returned, he set the ingredients down between them, sliding the lacewing flies toward her with a flourish. âThought Iâd let you handle the delicate work,â he said. âYouâre better with the fine details.â
Y/N smirked, measuring them out without missing a beat. âOr you just donât trust yourself not to ruin it.â
Dracoâs lips twitched upward. âMaybe I just like watching you work.â
She glanced at him from the corner of her eye, unsure whether to roll her eyes or call him out, ultimately choosing neither. âStir counter-clockwise,â she instructed instead, passing him the wooden spoon.
Their movements fell into an unspoken rhythmâher measuring and slicing, him stirring and adding in precise amounts when she gestured. Occasionally, their hands brushed in the exchange, and each time, Draco felt the faintest jolt in his chest.
âCareful,â she warned as he leaned over to add the next ingredient. âYouâre about to spill it.â
He gave her a slow smirk. âWhat, you donât trust me?â
âI trust you to be good at plenty of things,â she said, meeting his gaze evenly. âPotions just isnât one of them.â
Daphne, still turned halfway toward Pansy, glanced over her shoulder with a knowing little smirk at the sound of their banter.
Draco, unfazed, continued stirring with almost irritating precision. âYou wound me, Greengrass. And here I was thinking we made quite the team.â
Her quill scratched across the page as she noted the potionâs changing color. âWeâll see how you feel about that when I get top marks for this.â
âWhen we get top marks,â he corrected, a touch too quickly.
Y/Nâs lips curved slightly. âRight. We.â
Snape drifted past their table, his eyes sweeping over their nearly perfect potion before moving on without a word.
Draco allowed himself the smallest smile. She didnât know it, but he had no interest in the potionâs grade. The only victory he cared about was getting her to look at him the way she looked at her booksâlike he was something worth her full attention.
But if you're with me, you know I can
guarantee that
(But you're the one) 'cause I'm attracted to you passion, be yourself
forget the fashion
By the time their potion had reached the perfect shade of shimmering teal, the rest of the class was still catching up. Y/N allowed herself a small, satisfied nod, jotting down the final instructions in her neat script.
From the table ahead, Daphne glanced over her shoulder with a knowing grin. âWell, look at that. Ravenclaw and Slytherinâperfect marks and not a single explosion.â
Pansy, who had been leaning in to whisper something to Daphne, turned as well, her smirk sharp. âI suppose you do make a good pair.â
Y/Nâs quill froze mid-stroke. âWeâre just working together,â she said quickly, keeping her eyes on her notes.
âOh, of course,â Pansy replied sweetly, though her tone dripped with amusement. âYou just seem⊠in sync.â
Dracoâs mouth curved into that slow, deliberate smirk she had learned to be wary of. âIn sync, hmm? Iâd say thatâs accurate.â
Y/N glanced at him, narrowing her eyes. âDonât start.â
âWhat?â he asked innocently, leaning just close enough for his voice to drop so only she could hear. âWe make a good team. And you canât deny you enjoy working with me.â
She gave a small huff, turning back to bottle their finished potion. âYouâre tolerable in small doses.â
He let out a soft chuckle, lowering his voice even more. âFunny⊠youâre the only person I never get tired of.â
Her hand hesitated for the briefest second, but she recovered quickly, sealing the cork on their vial without looking at him. âSave your lines for someone who believes them, Malfoy.â
âOh, I donât need lines with you, Greengrass,â he murmured, eyes glinting. âJust time.â
Daphne, catching the faint exchange, smirked knowingly to herself before turning back around, deciding not to meddle furtherâfor now.
As Snape collected their work, his eyes flicked over the perfect potion before moving on without comment. But Draco noticed the faintest pink creeping into Y/Nâs cheeks, and for him, that was the only grade that mattered.
The end of Potions brought the usual symphony of shuffling feet, the clink of glass vials, and chairs scraping against stone. The air still carried the sharp scent of crushed lacewing flies and faint steam from simmering cauldrons. Y/N was tucking her parchment into her satchel when a familiar shadow fell over her desk.
Daphne appeared beside her, Pansy hovering just behind.
âThat was flawless,â Daphne said lightly, eyeing the perfect bottle of potion still on the table. âAlmost makes me wish weâd been paired together.â
Pansy smirked. âAlmost? Please. You wouldnât have had half as much fun.â She leaned in conspiratorially. âI still think you and Draco make a good team.â
Y/N gave them both a flat look. âIâm not even going to dignify that with a response.â
âYou donât have to,â Daphne said, her lips curling in a knowing smile.
Before Y/N could fire back, Draco strolled over, dropping his notes into his bag with an infuriating lack of urgency. âCome on, Greengrass. Youâre going to the library, arenât you? Iâll walk you.â
âYou donât have toââ she began.
âI know,â he said smoothly. âBut Iâm going to anyway.â
With a final glance at her sisterâwho looked far too smugâY/N followed Draco out into the corridor.
The flickering light from the dungeon torches cast shadows along the stone walls, the air thick with the earthy scent of damp rock. Their footsteps echoed softly, the only sound between them until Draco spoke.
âSo,â he began casually, âhow does it feel to be carried to a perfect mark by my superior potion-making skills?â
Her laugh rang lightly in the narrow space. âCarried? Please. If it werenât for me, youâd have charred lacewing flies fused to the bottom of your cauldron.â
âIâll have you know,â he said, a smirk tugging at his lips, âIâm very good with my hands.â He put his hand in the air and wiggled his fingers.
She cut him a pointed look. âIâm ignoring that.â
âShame,â he murmured, the smirk deepening.
They passed a group of third-years who instantly fell into giggles as Draco swept by, his stride confident, head high, every bit the Malfoy heir. Y/N quickened her pace to keep up.
âDo you always have to walk like you own the castle?â Y/N asked, her tone flat but her eyes glinting with amusement.
âI do own part of it,â he replied, not missing a beat.
âOh, Merlin, here we goââ
ââThe Malfoy name is synonymous with class, status, andââ
ââan ego the size of the Astronomy Tower,â she finished for him.
His laugh was low, genuine. âSee? This is why weâre perfectly in sync.â
By the time they reached the library doors, her lips were twitching despite herself.
Just keep that smile on, that
you're flashing
You and I deserve to be forever ever
lasting
The familiar hush of the library wrapped around her like a soft blanketâthe scent of aged parchment and polished wood, the faint dust motes drifting lazily in the afternoon light spilling through high, arched windows. Y/N made her way to her favorite table by the tall windows, the one tucked just far enough into the corner to be out of the main path.
Draco didnât leave. Instead, he leaned one shoulder against a nearby bookshelf, idly flipping through a book he clearly wasnât reading, his pale eyes flicking toward her now and then.
A tall Ravenclaw boy approached, his parchment clutched to his chest like a flimsy excuse. âHey, Y/N,â he began, flashing a smile just shy of a smirk. âI was wondering if I could borrow your notes from today⊠maybe we could go over them together later?â
She opened her mouth to respond, but before she could, Draco was at her side, the air around him cooling like a sudden shadow.
âSheâs busy,â he said, his voice calm but with a quiet steel that made the Ravenclaw falter.
The boy blinked. âI was justââ
âLeaving,â Draco finished, tilting his head just enough to make the challenge clear. âAnd if you want Potions notes, try making your own.â
The Ravenclawâs eyes darted between them before he muttered something under his breath and walked away.
Y/N turned toward Draco, crossing her arms. âWas that really necessary?â
âYes,â he replied, his tone smooth and entirely unapologetic. His gaze lingered a fraction longer before he added, âYouâre welcome.â
She exhaled slowly, pulling her notes from her bag. âOne of these days, Malfoy, your overprotective streak is going to get you hexed.â
He smirked, already turning to leave. âMaybe. But not today.â
And with that, he strolled out, leaving her staring after himâannoyed, confused, and, to her own dismay, just a little flustered.

Book 4 pt. 9 â [E] Study in the Library
a/n this is a chapter skip from the Can't You See I'm Here series.Â
Summary: You're invited to a study group by Blaise Zabini. Lo and behold, Draco Malfoy was the head of the group. You were tranced on how well he's explaining complex topics and ended up not writing anything. Well, he's pissed, and he'll use his way to teach you to focus⊠his own unconventional way. Will you be a good girl for him?Â
tags â face-fucking, deepthroating, orgasm denial, fingers in mouth, a bit of breathplay, Draco Malfoy is an annoying-dirty-talking git
Your final class of the day was DADA. Professor Moody was pacing at the front of the room, his magical eye spinning wildly in its socket as he barked out explanations of various shield charms and counter-spells, occasionally slamming his staff against the floor to keep everyone awake.
Once the bell rang, you headed straight back to your dorm room to change into casual clothes. A simple tee and a short skirt felt right for a relaxing evening, and you paired it with simple red flats before heading down to dinner.
In front of the Great Hall doors, you spotted Draco. He had changed out of his school robes as well, wearing a casual dark sweater. His white-blond hair was clearly freshly washed. He hadn't brushed it out, so a few loose strands fell naturally across his forehead, perfectly framing his sharp jawline and the hollows of his cheeks. He still had that same intense glare from class, which you returned right back to him. He stared you down, his eyes sweeping over your outfit, which made you shift slightly under his gaze.
Before you could say anything, Cedric came walking up the corridor with Heidi.
âHey!â Heidi called out cheerfully. You turned your attention away from Draco to look at them.
âHeidi, Cedric! Youâre okay?â you asked, looking at his bandages.
âBetter now, thanks to you visiting me,â Cedric grinned, his whole face lighting up as he stepped closer to you.
Draco visibly glowered at the exchange, his mouth twisting into a harsh line before he turned on his heel and headed straight into the Great Hall without a word.
âHey, Malfoy looks so good lately,â Heidi whispered, nudging your shoulder as you watched him walk away.
You rolled your eyes. âIâve been hearing that way too often lately.â
âYeah, but itâs true! People have been talking about it all over the common room. I mean, heâs still a known ass, but heâs really starting to up Cedric in the looks department. Even Iâm starting to stare at him a bit,â she admitted with a giggle.
You gave a slow laugh, keeping your face neutral. âI guess...â
Once dinner ended, you headed up to the library and walked toward the back rows. Theo, Blaise, and Daphne were already there, and of course, Draco was sitting right in the middle of them. He didnât look up from his notes when you pulled out a chair and sat down next to Daphne.
âHi!â you greeted them, setting your bag on the table.
âHey there, glad you could make it,â Blaise said, looking up with a welcoming smile.
âTook you long enough, we were just about to start the essay outline,â Daphne added, leaning over to show you her parchment.
âDon't mind her, she's just stressed because the Transfiguration homework is brutal this week,â Theo joked, leaning back in his chair with a smirk.
Draco led the study group, which wasn't surprising at all. He had all his books perfectly aligned and his notes written out in neat, sharp cursive.
âYou know, youâre lucky Draco is leading this,â Theo whispered to you, leaning across the table with a playful smirk. âThough if you need help focusing, Iâm always available for a private tutoring session. I promise Iâm much better company than he is.â
Draco finally looked up, his eyes fixing on you for a brief moment before he looked back at his work. âIf weâre quite done talking nonsense, maybe we can actually start. Some of us don't want to fail the upcoming exams because we were too busy chatting.â
You huffed but despite his annoying attitude, Draco was... a great teacher. He broke down the complicated spells easily, pointing out exactly where the wand movements usually went wrong and explaining the theory without making it sound impossible to learn. He spoke with a quiet confidence that actually held everyone's attention, his fingers tracing lines in his textbook to show the specific counter-movements.
You were even slightly charmed.
You propped your chin up on your hands to watch him explain. You were losing yourself a bit in the sharp line of his jaw and the way he focused so intensely on the page. The way his lips looked soâ
His eyes then snapped directly at you, catching you staring. âAre you even listening to me?â
You blinked, snapping out of it. âUhâyeah, of course,â you lied quickly, shifting in your seat.
âStill thinking about your boyfriend Cedric?â Blaise asked from across the table, a massive grin on his face.
You groaned, throwing your head back. âStop it. Itâs starting to get really annoying.â
Theo shrugged, leaning back in his chair with a smirk. âCan you blame her, Blaise? Diggory is the school champion right now. Though, personally, I think she could do a lot better than a Hufflepuff.â
Draco threw his quill down onto the table, ink splashing slightly on his parchment. He glared at everyone around the table, his eyes darker than usual. âIf you all want to gossip about Hufflepuffs and who is dating who, do it somewhere else. Iâm not wasting my evening sitting here while you act like a bunch of brainless first-years.â
âWeâre just joking,â you muttered, crossing your arms and looking back at him. âYou don't have to be so dramatic about it.â
âIâm not being dramatic, Iâm trying to study,â Draco snapped, his voice dropping to a harsh whisper so Madam Pince wouldn't hear. âBut clearly, some people in this room have a very limited attention span when they aren't playing nurse in the hospital wing.â
You felt your face heat up again. âI can focus just fine, Malfoy. Youâre just looking for an excuse to be miserable.â
Draco ignored your comment and turned to the others, his jaw clenched tightly. âWhy is she even in this study group anyway!?â
âYou know I asked her,â Blaise piped up, his tone perfectly flat and completely unfazed by Draco's outburst.
Draco glared at him for a long moment before letting out a sharp breath. âFine. Let me see all your parchments. Let's see if anyone actually learned a single thing tonight.â
Blaise, Theo, and Daphne all slid their written work across the table. Draco skimmed through their notes with a critical eye, quickly crossing out a line on Theo's page and making a small note on Daphne's. Finally, he slid them back. âGo. Youâre all giving me a headache. The work is good enough.â
âThank you, Professor Malfoy,â Theo said, giving a mock bow as he started packing up his things.
âDon't let the stress lines show too much, Draco, you'll ruin your pristine look,â Daphne joked, tossing her hair over her shoulder as she stood up.
You were about to stand up and pack your bag too, glad to escape Draco, before his hand shot out and lightly tapped the table in front of you. âAnd where do you think youâre going?â
âIâumââ You froze, your hand hovering over your bag.
âSit down.â He pointed at you with his quill, gesturing for you to drop back into your chair. âYouâre not done with me,â he said, his eyes locking onto yours with an intensity that made your stomach do a weird flip.
Shoot. You were so busy staring at him and listening to his voice earlier that you hadnât even started writing a single thing on your blank parchment.
Draco looked down at your empty page, an annoyed but amused twitch tugging at the corner of his lips. âWhatâs this? Not a single word? I suppose your mind was too occupied with Hufflepuffs to actually write anything down.â
âI was listening to you explain it!â you countered quickly, trying to sound defensive. âI just havenât put it into notes yet.â
âIs that so?â Draco leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. âLet's test that theory then.â
Draco started quizzing you right then and there. He was really putting you on the spot, his sharp eyes watching your every reaction. Spellwork and anything physical? Count you in, you could handle a wand and fist just fine. But theory? It was easily your weakest point.
âExplain the fundamental difference between a basic Shield Charm and the specific counters for memory-modifying curses,â he demanded, leaning forward over the table.
You opened your mouth, but nothing came out. You couldn't answer, your mind completely blanking under his intense stare.
He sighed, shaking his head like a disappointed professor. âBrilliant! Absolutely brilliant. Letâs try something simpler then. What is the primary mental block required when attempting to reverse a confusion hex?â
âAh, I know this one,â you said, feeling a small surge of relief. You started explaining the theory, talking about the mental focus and the reverse wand movements. But as you spoke, you felt completely exposed.
Draco didn't interrupt you once. He just watched you closely, his eyes tracking the movement of your lips and the way your hands moved as you tried to explain the concept.
When you finished, he kept his eyes on you for a second too long before finally shifting in his seat. âYouâre missing the core text on the mental block. Thereâs a specific set of books on that topic in the back rows.â He stood up, smoothing down his clothes.
You stayed seated for a moment, expecting him to go fetch it. He stopped and looked down at you, raising an eyebrow. âWell? Iâm not your little house-elf. Letâs go.â
You scoffed, rolling your eyes as you pushed your chair back and followed him into the deep stacks at the back of the library. This section was incredibly dusty, the air thick and heavy, completely hidden away from the sharp eyes and ears of Madam Pince. There weren't any other students back here either, the shadows from the towering bookshelves making it feel completely isolated.
What even was this section? It looked like the absolute most boring books in the entire castle, filled with massive, ancient volumes on historical spell theory that no one had touched in decades.
âThe book is up on that shelf,â Draco said, leaning back against the wooden shelf behind him with his arms loosely crossed over his chest.
You looked up at the towering row, the target volume sitting well out of your normal reach. âItâs quite tall,â you said, eyeing him sideways. âYou can reach it better, Malfoy.â
âAre you a child? Try it,â he replied as he stayed firmly planted where he was.
You rolled your eyes at his stubbornness. Turning toward the shelf, you went up on your tiptoes, stretching your arm as high as it could go, your fingers barely brushing the dusty spine of the book. As you strained to reach it, Draco had stepped behind you.
Before you could even register how close he was, his hands grazed up your thighs. His fingers hooking slightly under the hem of your short skirt.
You froze.
âThis is quite short, donât you think?â he murmured, his breath warm against your ear.
He used one hand to hitch your skirt up.
âPink laces? How cute,â he whispered, his voice lowering.
You immediately tried to turn around to stop him, but he held you completely steady, pressing you forward. Your back was flush against him, your heart was thrumming hard.
With your head resting back against his chest, you looked up over your shoulder, and the darkened look in his eyes made your whole body lock up.
âWhat are you trying to do, Malfoy?â You asked nervously.
His hand trailed away from your skirt, moving up until his fingers wrapped around the front of your neck, squeezing just slightly enough to make your pulse race under his palm.
He leaned in to kiss you, your neck craning back to meet his as his lips pressed hard against yours. His kisses were always deep and urgent, stealing the breath right out of your lungs. While his mouth held yours, his hand trailed up from your waist, hiking your shirt up out of the way.
He finally pulled away with a soft gasp, a low breath escaping his lips.
âSo it is a matching set,â he grinned, his eyes dropping down to the pink lace bra now exposed in the dim light of the library stacks.
âMalfoy, donâtââ you tried to protest, your voice coming out as nothing more than a breathless whisper.
His hand slip underneath the lace of your bra, the coldness of his palm shocking against your heating skin. He squeezed your breast firmly, his fingers pulling and pinching your left nipple until a sharp ache of pleasure shot through you.
âAh! Malfoyââ you whimpered. Your hands shot up to hold his arm on yours breast. Your other hand gripped the wooden shelves tightly to keep your balance, your knuckles turning white. He leaned back in, burying his face in your neck as he kissed and nipped his way down to your shoulders.
His hands trailed down from your neck to slipping inside your underwear. The rough skin of his palm rubbing against your stomach before his fingers finally grazed your slit. You bit your lip hard, holding back a moan as a sudden wave of heat crashed through you.
His other hand went to your other breast, hiking up your pink lacey bra completelyâfully exposing your breast to the cold air of the libraryâto repeat the pinching and pulling of your nipple, his finger pressing in slow, heavy circles against your sensitive skin.
You finally moaned when his finger entered you, the sudden entrance making your hips bucked against his hand.
He pulled you back, his hand leaving your breast to wrap around your neck, holding your head in place against his chest so you couldn't move away from the sensation.
He added another digit, stretching you open. You could hear the wet, slicking sound as he slid his fingers inside you, moving in and out in a steady, slow, torturous rhythm. Your knees started weakening, trembling so badly.
His fingers curled in, hitting a spot inside you that made your eyes close shut, your mouth hanging open as the raw pleasure completely took over you.
âMerlin. Fuck, look at you,â Draco cursed under his breath, his own pace quickening as he felt how tight you were around him. His hand tightening around your neck, you gasped for air but you were close, so close. Your brain blankingâyouâre not sure if itâs due the lack of air or pleasure.
Either way, something intense was building up right beneath your skin, and you could feel it ready to burst. At this point, you were just a whining, moaning mess, entirely at his mercy.
âMalfoyââ you gasped, keeping your eyes closed as you felt his soft kisses move from your ear down to your neck.
The quiet, isolated corner of the library was filled with the wet, rhythmic shlick, shlick, shlick sound of his fingers entering you over and overâitâs so dirty and addicting. To make it even more overwhelming, his thumb pressed down firmly on your clit, rubbing in circles.
With three fingers stretching and curling inside you, you were so close to seeing stars, your body trembling on the very edge of snapping.
âIâmââ you moaned but then he suddenly stopped.
You snapped your eyes open, breathing heavily as you looked up at him over your shoulder, an involuntary whine escaping your throat at the sudden emptiness.
âGood girls are patient,â he said, a dark grin spreading across his face as his eyebrows raised in amusement. He took his hands completely off you, leaving you cold and shivering against the shelf. âAre you a good girl for me?â
You were so close to the edge that you were ready to beg him. âMalfoyâplease,â you gasped out, your hands still gripping the wood for support.
He took a deliberate step back, leaning his shoulders against the opposite shelf, just watching you. Merlin, you were an absolute mess. Your hair was disheveled, your clothes were pulled out of place to expose your breastâwhich you desperately tried to cover with trembling handsâchest heaving, and underwear slipping.
âOn your knees,â he commanded softly.
You blinked, wondering if you had heard him right over the loud pounding of your own heart. âWhat?â
âOn your knees. Now,â he repeated, his voice dropping into an unyielding tone that left no room for argument.
A hard shiver ran down your spine. Slowly, your weak legs gave out and you dropped down onto the dusty stone floor. On your knees, you crane your neck to look up at him. He stepped closer to you. His fingers winding into the back of your hair and pulling it slightly to force you to keep looking up at him.
âTongue out,â he ordered.
Your eyebrows furrowed, confusion plastered across your face as you stared up at him.
âDo I have to repeat everything I say to you?â he muttered, his grip tightening as he pulled your hair just a little harder, tilting your head back further. âTongue. Out.â
You took your tongue out, looking right at him. Before you could even process it, he shoved two of his fingers deep inside your mouth, tasting your own slick.
âDo you see how wet you are for me?â he murmured. His fingers pressed down against the back of your tongueâyou gagged, your throat tightening around them.
âClean it,â he ordered, watching your reaction.
You could feel a prickle of tears at the corners of your eyes from the gagging, but you complied, lapping his fingers clean with slow, hesitant strokes of your tongue. When he finally took his fingers away from your mouth, a thin, glistening string of saliva connected his fingertips to your damp lips.
His grip on your hair softened, loosening just enough so it wasnât as hard anymore, though he kept his hand resting against the back of your head.
You were catching your breath in shallow, ragged pants. Down below, you could still feel a heavy, maddening throb in your pussyâcompletely unfinished and desperate for release. You looked up at him, your eyes begging for him to touch you again, but you were still too proud to actually say the words out loud.
âWhy are you looking at me like that?â he grinned darkly. âOh. Need me to finish you off?â
You glared up at him through your lashes, your voice a sharp whisper. âFuck you, Malfoy.â
He gave you a low, vibrating chuckle, his fingers gently tugging the strands of your hair. âI love this,â he murmured, his eyes glinting dangerously in the shadows. âBig words coming from someone who hasnât been focusing on her studies at all tonight. Are you trying to waste my time?â
He eyed you with a cold authority but you forced yourself to stare back at him, challenging him anyway.
âTell you what, letâs try my way to get you to⊠focus more,â he said.
His hand moved down to his waist, his fingers catching on the leather of his belt. âTongue out.â
You shivered but you complied again, parting your lips. Your heart was thrumming wildly against your ribs as his hand unbuckled his belt and zipped his trousers down with a sharp, echoing slide.
He pulled out his cock right in front of your face, heavy and fully hard, looming just inches from your lips.
âFuck, you look so good from this angle,â he breathed, his hand leaving your hair to softly caress your flushed cheek, his thumb tracing your cheekbone. âDo you know that? Only for me.â
This is by far the most humiliating thing youâve ever done in your life. Half of your brain is screaming at you to stand up! Run away! Have some pride! But your body isnât moving at all. You are completely glued to the dusty stone floor with your tongue out like a dog in front of Draco.
His cock was thick, long, and slightly curved. You could see the faint veins running along the skin. It twitched right in front of your face, a small bead of moisture appearing at the very tip.
I want it.
He kept tapping the head of his cock against your extended tongue, teasing your lips. You could taste the slight saltiness from his precum, the heavy scent of him filling your senses.
âAh, good girls listen well, you know? They don't talk back, and they certainly don't look at other men when I'm right in front of them,â he drawled, his voice thick with arousal. âMaybe thisâll finally make you forget about your little yellow boyfriend.â
He slowly pushed his cock inside your mouth, forcing your jaws to widen. He groaned aloud, a low shiver running through his entire frame as your warm mouth welcomed him. âMerlin, Iâve been waiting so very long for this,â he muttered.
You couldnât focus on anything other than the sheer size of his girth entering your mouth. You tried your best to breathe through your nose, your eyes watering slightly.
He pushed deeper, but he did it slowly, deliberately waiting for the tight muscles of your throat to adjust to the depth and his size. His head leaned against the dark wooden shelf, his knuckles turning white as he held onto the edge for support, while his other hand stayed wrapped around the back of your head, caressing your hair slowly and encouragingly. His breathing grew more ragged with every slow, testing stroke.
He finally stayed there, deep in your throat, while you fought hard against the rising gag reflex. It was so intense, the sheer arousal in your body building up until you couldn't help it anymore. Desperate for any kind of relief, your hand slid down between your thighs, your fingers frantically touching your clit, just needing to feel a little bit of friction.
Draco noticed immediately. He pulled his cock completely out of your mouth and gripped your hair much tighter, pulling it back until it actually hurt, forcing you to look up at his dark expression.
âDid I tell you that you could touch yourself?â he hissed, his voice dropping into a dangerous whisper. âYou do know bad girls get punished.â
Before you could even think to protest, he shoved his cock straight back into your mouth, forcing it all the way down until it hit the very back of your throat. His hands locked firmly onto the sides of your head, anchoring you in place so you couldn't pull away.
He began to thrust heavily into your mouth. An muffled moan escaped your throat, and with every deep stroke, his pace became completely ragged and desperate. Tears prickled in your eyes, blurring your vision as your hands reached out blindly, gripping his hips tightly just to keep your support.
He gave one final, incredibly deep thrust right against the back of your throat and completely released his load.
You gagged hard, the hot, thick cum filling your throat as tears finally spilled over, running down your flushed cheeks. You desperately wanted to spit it out, but Draco kept his hands clamped on your head, holding you against his crotch.
âSwallow,â he ordered roughly, his chest heaving as he stared down at you. âEvery single drop.â
You forced it down, your throat working hard around him. Only then did he finally pull out, and you instantly collapsed forward, gasping for air. Coughing on all fours on the floor, you tried your absolute best to steady your ragged breathing, a string of saliva and cum dripping from your lips. Amidst your heavy breathing, you could hear the sharp click of his belt buckling back into place and the slide of his zipper.
Draco dropped down right in front of you. He reached out, his fingers gently brushing the messy strands of hair away from your damp face before cupping your cheeks in his palms. His thumb wiped away a tear from your cheek, his gaze completely soft now but still burning.
âFuck,â he groaned, a breathless laugh escaping his lips. âYouâll be the death of me one day. You look so hot like this.â
He kissed you gently. He sucked softly on your bottom lip before moving to your top lip.
He gripped your arms and gently raised you up off the cold floor, but the moment you were back on your feet, the maddening throb between your legs returned. You werenât finished. You were still so painfully close to the edge.
âMalfoyââ you whimpered, your fingers clutching the fabric of his sweater as your knees trembled. âPlease, Iâm stillââ
âNo,â he interrupted, leaning in to press a soft kiss against your flushed cheek. It was absolute torture. He was torturing you on purpose, and he knew it.
âDonât even try to do it yourself when you get back to your room tonight,â he murmured. âGood girls listen to instructions. Youâll finally listen to me now, right?â
He used the pad of his thumb to wipe more stray tears off your cheeks, before tracing the edge of your lips to clean away the trail of his cum mixed with your saliva.
You were still in a trance. Unsure what just happenedâI want more, I need more. Have I gone mad?
âAnswer me,â he demanded, his eyes narrowing into a sharp glare that pinned you in place.
Your stomach twisted into a tight, desperate knot. âYes, Malfoy.â
âGood,â he murmured, a satisfied smirk finally returning to his face.
He pulled his wand out from his trousers and gave it a brief flick. A soft, tingling wave of magic washed over you, and instantly, the dust vanished from your knees. Your shirt smoothly slipped back into place, your short skirt was perfectly straightened and clean, and your messy hair fell right back into its usual style as if nothing had happened at all.
He slid his wand away, grabbed your hand, and led you back into the main area of the library. The quiet room felt almost surreal after what just happened in the stacks. He quickly packed his own things into his bag and then turned to yours, efficiently sliding your ink bottle, quills, and that completely blank parchment into your bag for you.
âLetâs go, itâs late,â he murmured, his voice back to its usual drawl.
He slung his own bag over his shoulder and picked up yours with his other hand, leaving his fingers free to lace through yours. He walked you out of the library, leading you hand in hand through the dark, torch-lit corridors of the castle. Your mind was still spinning so fast you just blindly followed the pull of his hand. It wasn't until you climbed the familiar moving staircases that you realized you were standing right in front of the Fat Lady's portrait.
He finally let go of your hand and held your bag out to you.
âGood night,â he said softly, leaning down to press a firm, lingering kiss against your lips. You were so caught off guard by the sudden gentleness that you froze, completely unsure of whether you should kiss him back or pull away.
When he broke the kiss, he noticed your expression. âStill trying not to catch feelings for me?â Draco grinned, that familiar, arrogant smirk returning to his lips.
You glared at him, your cheeks burning. âIn your dreams, Malfoy. Youâre still infuriating.â
âCareful,â he warned, his eyes dropping to your mouth as his voice dropped to a low, dangerous baritone. âYou still want to finish, don't you? Keep testing me, or Iâll stuff your mouth again and weâll see if that finally teaches you how to behave.â
He turned on his heel and began walking down the corridor, leaving you standing there alone.
Your mouth hung open in disbelief, your jaw still feeling slightly tense from earlier. You honestly couldn't believe how completely vulgar he could be.
Turning to the portrait, you cleared your throat. âFairy Lights,â you muttered, giving the Gryffindor password.
The portrait swung open, and you marched straight through the common room and up to your dormitory. Your body still heavily aching and throbbing from being left right on the edge.
You sat on the edge of your bed, fully intending to finally touch yourself and get some release from the maddening arousalâbut the moment your head hit the pillow, the sheer exhaustion of the night completely caught up to you, and you drifted off into a deep sleep before you could even try.
Warnings: swearing, talks of sex, reader is a muggleborn, reader is stubborn, reader isnât in a specified house, so much longer than I expected it to be, smoking (not reader), drinking (not reader), trauma, allusions to Mattheoâs physical and mental abuse, talk of death, canon-level violence, one line at very end that can be interpreted to either pets or kids so even those who donât want kids can read
Mattheo Riddle was untouchable. Ever since he was eleven, he had known he was the one at Hogwarts to be feared. It was a burden no eleven year old should have to go through, but if Harry Potter could carry the fight for the good of the Wizarding World on his shoulders, then Mattheo could carry the bad
Just as his father had, he had formed a group of inseparable friends who stuck with him and seemed to darken the halls when they walked through
He began smoking at twelve. Contrary to what everyone thought when the blood appeared on the wall hailing the horrors of the Chamber of Secrets, Mattheo was more jealous that his father had shown up and spoken to Harry and not him. He didnât have time to worry about fulfilling everyoneâs nightmares. They already skirted around him in fear â why should he waste his time trying to convince him that he wasnât the one petrifying mudbloods?
When his cigarettes werenât doing it anymore, Mattheo began drinking at thirteen. It wasnât like his friends werenât doing it â hell, Enzo was one of the heaviest drinkers of their entire friend group and Theo always had his lighter on him
Mattheo lost his virginity at thirteen to a seventh year girl
He continued this trend of smoking, drinking, and fucking all throughout the years. It became common for him and the rest of the Slytherins to sit in the back of the class, smoking or muttering annoyed comments. When they were younger, the professors would try to give them detention for it, but Draco would just make a remark about messaging his father or Theo would keep direct eye contact with the professor as he kept smoking. Needless to say, nothing changed. If they were actually issued detention (most likely by McGonagall) they just wouldnât show up. (After McGonagall once cornered all of them in the Great Hall and levitated them out to serve their detention sentence, they all got a bit more respectful in her classroom. That didnât stop them from doing it to the other teachers. Snape, for example, hardly batted an eye)
Somehow, this didnât impact their Quidditch playing. Mattheo had joined the team in his third year as a Beater and he actually really enjoyed the game. Flying allowed him to leave his troubles on the ground and while pulling himself out of bed at the crack of dawn just because they wanted to stick it to Oliver Wood was unfortunate, he was a fucking good Beater
There was a couple of girls he would keep around every so often who didnât mind being in his bed before being tossed away, but inevitably, Mattheo would get irritated by their claims that they were the one to tie down the son of the Dark Lord. Thatâs all it ever was, wasnât it? He was the Heir of Slytherin, son of You-Know-Who, the next Riddle⊠never just Mattheo
He did enjoy Professor Lupin to an extent. The man never pushed him to do anything, which he was thankful for, especially because he knew what would come out of the closet if his Boggart was released. The professor even gave him some chocolate after that class
Of course, his life wasn't as miserable as one may make it out to seem. He had a good group of friends who he genuinely was close to, no matter the social expectations of their parents. They would all lounge around the Black Lake and Enzo would throw a Quaffle up and down in the air as Draco laid in Pansyâs lap and Blaise and Mattheo smoked. Daphne Greengrass would inevitably join them, complaining about some professor and Theo would somehow incorporate a lewd remark in her direction, smirking
It was one day like that when you entered his life. Mattheo was lighting another cigarette. It was dangling from his lips and his hand was curled around his lighter, trying to get it to spark. His eyes were downcast, focused lazily on the light, when he heard a scoff. Theoâs snicker reached his ears just as his gaze flicked up. You were walking past with a gaggle of your friends, looking down at him from where he was seated. Disgust laced your stare
Mattheo had already been having an unlucky day. Maybe he wouldâve let it go on a good day, but he had gotten up late so there wasnât any coffee left in the Great Hall, Flitwick had then called him out in front of the class, he had noticed a tear in his Quidditch robes, and now his lighter wasnât working. âOi! L/n,â he called out, motioned to Theo for his lighter. âWhatâs with the pissy face? It doesnât suit you.â He caught Theoâs lighter and flicked it open, sucking in a cloud of nicotine
Your friend grabbed your arm, but you were not known to back down when it came to your opinions. âMy problem, Riddle?â you asked, turning around on him. âIs that weâre here in this magical world, practically a utopia, and youâre fucking it up with your smoking.â
Everyone around you stilled.
Oh, shit. Mattheo couldnât help the wicked grin that curled onto his lips. He slowly stood up, cracking his back as he did so. âIs that it?â he asked, still smirking. Blaise tried to cover his laughter at how terrified your friends looked
Mattheo didnât know if the reason you werenât terrified like your friends was because you were dumb or a mudblood. He thought that all muggleborns should have been told about his lineage. Maybe you had missed the memo or didnât realise the gravity that came with the Riddle name
âYeah, thatâs it,â you replied, placing a hand on your hip. âSmokingâs really bad for you, you know that, right? This has been known for years now.â
Mattheo scoffed and took another drag of his cigarette. âUh-huh,â he said, unconvinced. âNewsflash, sweetheart, Iâm not worried about lung cancer. Kinda the last of my concerns right now.â
âThat doesnât mean you have to be infecting the rest of us,â you argued.Â
When Pansy whispered over to Daphne, âwho does she think she is?â your eyes finally flicked to the rest of his group and how they were all staring at you, either entertained or thoroughly unimpressed. You got the feeling like you were an animal behind bars they were peering at. You had stepped out of your place and were going to come to regret it if nothing happened soon. It was the feeling all teenagers had at some point and one you would remember well. When your friend tugged at your arm once more, you gave in and let her pull you away
You could still feel Mattheoâs eyes burning into you as you walked away
There were only so many students in a Year at Hogwarts. With the joined classes, it wasnât uncommon for social circles to mix and wider groups of friends to be created. It was normal for everyone to know everyone. That being said, Mattheo made a point of not socialising outside of his friend group. No one wanted him anyway, so what did it matter?
He knew what your general manner and vibe was. You cared more about school than he ever would and he doubted you had ever taken a shot, much less smoked weed. You werenât as stuck up as Granger was â he had at least seen you laughing and joking with your friends sometimes â but you werenât someone he associated with
Mattheo began to keep an eye out for you during fourth year. It was almost unconscious, like a new character had been unlocked in a video game and he began noticing you around. But he didnât do anything about it
At the Yule Ball (which Mattheo was reluctant to attend), he had been forced into a black suit and dress shirt by Draco. He stepped outside with Theo, unbuttoning the jacket and first couple of buttons, to take a much needed smoke break. He could see Snape breaking up couples on the other side of the grounds, but it was a hushed argument close by that got his attention
He was so close to ignoring it when he heard your name. Maybe it was his nosiness that got the better of him. He jerked a head to Theo who followed after him as Mattheo investigated
âI swear, Pieter, just leave me alone. Iâm not even your date,â you were saying when Mattheo rounded the corner
No, Mattheoâs expression didnât change when he saw a Durmstrang student coming onto you, but an unexpected chill ran through him. He didnât like how close that boy was to you. He didnât like how you were turning from the boy, trying to get away. âOi,â he spoke before he could think
The Durmstrang student glanced over. Even if he didnât know Mattheo was the son of Voldemort, the general darkness that followed Mattheo around was enough to frighten anyone, especially when Mattheo was staring at the Durmstrang student with the barely controlled anger that got him into so many fights
âWhatâs going on,â Mattheo said. Behind him, Theo stared at the Durmstrang boy. The two Slytherins didnât need to even look angry â it was just their aura that frightened anyone
âIs this your girl?â the Durmstrang boy asked, glancing over at you. You were looking between the two, confusion written over your face, but still coiled up, ready to do what you needed to stay safe. You wanted to believe that Mattheo wouldnât hurt you, but if push came to shove, you were willing to do whatever it took to stay safe
Mattheo shrugged, dropping his cigarette on the ground and stubbing it out with his dress shoe. âDoes it matter?â he drawled. âSeems like she doesnât wanna be with you.â
For once that night, the Durmstrang boy made the right decision. Maybe it was the scarred over knuckles on Mattheo or the way Theo was looking at him that got him to back down. âAlright,â he muttered, shuffling away
Mattheoâs attention turned to you when the boy disappeared. There was a long moment of silence between the two of you, both of you waiting for the other to say something to break the tension. âYouâre welcome,â Mattheo finally said, expectant
You scoffed and crossed your arms. âI had it handled. I donât need a âbig, strong manâ to come and save me.â
A flicker of a smirk flashed across his face. âSo you think Iâm big and strong?â After you scoffed again and rolled your eyes, Mattheo asked, âbut seriously, whereâs your wand?â
A sort of shocked, maybe even terrified look came across your face. âI⊠I forgot,â you muttered. âI- I didnât evenâ oh, god, Iâm so stupid.â You ran a hand over your face. âYouâd think that after four years of magic, I wouldnât freeze up like an idiot.â
âYeah,â Mattheo chuckled. Theo muttered something about mudbloods from behind them and Mattheo glanced back at his friend. For once, he hesitated. âJust donât do it again,â he remarked gruffly, his light smirk vanishing
Later that year, after the Triwizard Tournament, when everyone was skirting around him and rumours were spreading, you didnât look at him with hatred. No, it was more concern that flooded through you, like you were worried for him, not about him. Mattheo brushed it aside as his mind playing tricks on him
At the beginning of fifth year, Mattheo returned to Hogwarts with the Dark Mark emblazoned on his forearm
Whispers followed him wherever he went, but Mattheo had lived his whole life keeping his shields up. He walked down the halls, shoulders back and cigarette dangling from his lips, a dangerous nonchalance emanating from him. When Enzo and Draco began acting up or Mattheo rested his feet up on his desk, the teachers didnât dare to comment
He kept on drinking and smoking his cares away, but one stubborn part of his brain kept thinking of you. It was brief and fleeting at first and he couldn't understand it for the life of him. He wanted to ask Pansy about it, but knew that she might blab to Draco who would inevitable tell the whole group
He had bigger things to think about, anyway. Umbridge was taking over the castle and even though Draco and Pansy were in her idiotic little group, Mattheo and the rest of his friends refused to be associated with her. It was one thing that united a majority of the students. Now, he didnât go far enough to join Potterâs stupid Dumbledoreâs Army play group (of course he knew about it), but he wouldnât rat them out either
He knew the stigma Slytherin house got from everyone else and honestly, he was tired of it. He knew he definitely fit that stigma, but there were a couple of younger students who had been put in the house simply because they were ambitious and cunning. There were even some muggleborns in Slytherin and one of them made a goddamn decent Chaser on the Quidditch team
Even though the pink witch was terrorising the castle, Mattheo still was a teenage boy. He couldnât help the jealousy that overcame him when he saw you getting closer to the Weasley twins. While he hated the Weasley twins and the rest of their clan, he couldnât help but admit that some of their pranks were decent (like terrorising Draco with reminders of his weasel days)
Mattheo didnât know why you were getting closer to them and it irked him like no other. He was coming out of detention one day, blood drying on the back of his hand with the stupid scars of one of Umbridgeâs vague insults. He saw you in a corner with one of the twins standing over you. Immediately, he stiffened. What were you doing so close to that ginger abomination? Why was he touching you and talking quietly? Mattheoâs jaw clenched tightly when he noticed that the twin was examining your hand. Oh. You mustâve had detention before Mattheo did and now the Weasley twin was tending to your wounds
Conflicting emotions ran through the son of the Dark Lord. His hatred for both Umbridge and the Weasley twin grew tenfold. That pink witch shouldnât have laid a finger on you. Hell, Mattheo was pretty sure that you had never even gotten detention before. What on earth could you have done to warrant such a harsh punishment? Then, to top it all off, his counterpart on the Quidditch field was comforting you when it couldâve been Mattheo
Of course, would Mattheo have been a good person to comfort you? As much as he hated to admit it, he doubted he would have been able to give you the comfort you needed, though a weird part of him wanted to try
As he passed by, you caught his eye and gave a deprecating little laugh as you lifted your hand in explanation. Mattheo nodded once and then raised his own hand. The Weasley twin squared his shoulders, glaring at Mattheo, but when the Slytherin continued walking, the ginger shifted back. Mattheo could hear the twin whisper to you and Mattheo practically preened when he heard your quiet voice say, âhe got hurt too. Itâs Umbridge to be furious at, not him.â
It was in sixth year during one of Slughornâs weirdass potion classes that things were clarified. Amortentia was not on his list of potions he wanted to brew, but goddamn if the smell of your bodywash didnât fill up the classroom. He didnât even recognise some of the scents he was smelling, but it was undoubtedly you. Slughorn waddled over to the Slytherins and asked Blaise, Pansy, and then Mattheo. As Mattheoâs nostrils flared and he glared at his professor, Slughorn took a step back. âAh, well, some things are better left unsaid, hmm, Mr. Riddle?â
Of course, Theo and then Enzo and then all of his friends wanted to know what he smelled. He refused to tell them
Mattheo found you in the library one day. It was growing colder and so you were bundled up in a sweater of your house colours. He had made sure not to smoke that morning because he knew you hated the smell. For once, the son of the Dark Lord was nervous. He had never been anxious around girls before
He stood in front of your table until you glanced up and noticed him. âHey,â he greeted in a mutter. You repeated the word and invited him to sit. He shook his head and shifted his weight from foot to foot. âNah, itâs okay. Uh, I actually⊠Well, I wanted to thank you, I guess.â The last time he had thanked someone was when Blaise let him borrow his quill. âFor- for treating me like- uh, well, like another student.â He scratched at the back of his neck. âLike normal, you know?â
âI didnât realise I was doing anything different,â you told him. This was not a conversation you were expecting to have today
He nodded and cleared his throat. âWell, you did. So⊠thanks.â He pressed his lips together and stood there awkwardly. After a beat, he cleared his throat again. âIâm gonna go.â
Mattheo had never felt such relief when, as he turned on his heel, you asked if he wanted to stay
You didnât know what the fuck was going on. Why the hell was Mattheo Riddle suddenly acting all nice? He could be next to literally any other girl right now, ones that were probably prettier or smarter, but no. He was sitting next to you. Part of you thought it was a bet or he was drugged or something, but by the end of your study session (you were studying, he wasnât), you couldnât help but trust him just a little bit. Maybe that was why you said yes when he asked you out on a date
You only told your closest friends what was happening. If your roommates found out, you were sure the entire castle would know by breakfast. You didnât wanna put that on you or Mattheo. That exact reason was why he didnât take you to Hogsmeade or somewhere public
Your first date was in the Room of Requirement. Mattheo had turned the place into a comfy little room with a sheet draped over one wall to act as a projector screen for the movie he had chosen. It was oddly charming, especially knowing he couldâve made an actual projector screen appear with fancy movie theatre chairs, but nope. Instead, there was a bundle of blankets and pillows which were constructed into the comfiest seating arrangement ever. It was not what you had expected from the boy who had millions to his name
It was not the Mattheo you had seen snog a girl at a party before, hands groping along her chest. It was the Mattheo who was nervous and seemed to actually care about you that showed up on your date. Instead of flowers he got you all the snacks and candy you could wish for
He couldn't figure out for the life of him how to work the muggle projector
You had to take over and show him. You made a playful comment about how muggleborns werenât all useless and he muttered a sorry for his past words
He was in awe of muggle movies. He had seen a couple once or twice, but was still enraptured. It also didnât help that he had chosen an animated film, so the entire time he was just staring up at the screen, eyes wide
At the end of the date, Mattheo revealed that it was the first date he had ever taken a girl on. âIâve just always skipped that part, you know?â he grinned before adding, ânot to sound crass or anything. Please donât dump me.â
You rewarded his efforts with another date
Mattheo was slow to let you in. Things were very secretive when it came to Mattheo Riddle. He didnât tell any of his friends he was dating you (to be fair, neither did you) and he did his best to not interact much outside of the dates. He was his cocky, cool, and arrogant self in class, but when evening came and he met you a couple paces from the door to your common room to take you to the Room of Requirement (thatâs where most dates took place), he would whisper a compliment about how good you looked
It was clear neither of you completely trusted the other at first, but that was expected. The first couple of months were, as mentioned above, very slow going, but eventually, you two began to let the other in. You would lean against him during movie nights and he would wrap an arm around your shoulders. When the Room of Requirement became a restaurant, he would offer you his fork of pasta to try. His voice would soften as he told you about his childhood when you two were at the Astronomy Tower, looking up at the stars. You would crack jokes about how horrible he was at mini-golf when you insisted thatâs what the Room of Requirement became. He would make a point of adjusting your form when you tried out pool (even if you didnât need help at all)
As you dated Mattheo and he slowly let you into his life, you realised there was a whole part of the wizarding world you didnât know existed. There were hierarchies and rules everyone had to follow, especially when they came from the Sacred Twenty-Eight and the rigid pureblood community. You felt so bewildered when he first mentioned this to you
Mattheo had clearly grown up in a very structured world with parents that didnât care if he lived or died. It was one thing to grow up like Draco Malfoy where you were protected at every turn, but still attended galas and dances; it was something entirely different to be Mattheo Riddle who was passed around from obscure relative to relative as his mother rotted in Azkaban and his father still held power from beyond the grave over all of the homes Mattheo visited. He had never really fit in anywhere because everyone he stayed with had been a follower of Voldemort, so it was like there was a power imbalance between this kid who held the Riddle name and whatever adults he was staying with. It led to none of the adults really lecturing him or teaching him what was wrong or right. The places he stayed were never a home, they were just a house he slept in. He had finally moved in with the Malfoys when he was seven and had been introduced to his half-brother, Lorenzo, who he hadnât even known existed
The Malfoys finally gave him some structure, but they still clearly favoured Draco over any of the boys. Lucius was pissed that Bellatrix had basically just dumped her kids onto him (this isnât what he had signed up for when he married Narcissa), though did feel as if it was an honour to raise the son of his late Master, whereas his wife was a bit more accommodating
That was where Mattheo mostly learned about the expected way he was supposed to act and the true gravity of his fatherâs name. Lucius Malfoy loved to lord Mattheoâs lineage over the young boy and whip him into shape
You learned that yes, Voldemort was back, and it was the summer between your fourth and fifth year that Mattheo had finally met his dad for the first time in his life
It was clear by the way Mattheo would shut down and his voice would lower when he talked about Voldemort that it was a touchy subject. He didnât get into much detail, especially at the beginning of your relationship, but you could tell that he had been through much more than any teenager should have
You knew that Mattheo stayed at Hogwarts over Christmas and hardly got any presents (except a few snuck in by Snape, McGonagall, and Dumbledore because thereâs obviously a plan in place for students with rough home lives like Mattheo). You also knew that he detested summers, much like a friend of yours, Harry Potter, did
Mattheo Riddle would tell you all of this, and then pretend not to know you during classes. At first, you didnât mind and would do the same, but eventually, as months passed, you couldn't help the sting that followed when Mattheo would only glance at you with that dead-eyed stare in the halls. Thatâs what led him to make your relationship public
You had revealed to him your feelings one day after another movie night in the Room of Requirement. You were laying between his legs and he had begun to knead your thighs when you tensed up. It led to an awkward conversation, but one that needed to happen
There was no over-exaggeration of your relationship to make it public. Mattheo simply began hanging around your desk before and after classes, draping an arm over your shoulder, and spending more time with you â all things he had wanted to do when your relationship was private. Of course there were some mutterings around the castle, but his friends werenât the most perceptive
The signs were there in front of them: he had stopped smoking as much, was spending less time around them, and seemed overall happier. But it wasnât until one day, when they were all in the common room that they figured it out. Mattheo checked the clock and pushed himself off of the couch. âAlright, Iâm gonna go,â he said
âYour entire social life is in this room. Whereâre you going?â Draco asked as he took a sip of butterbeer
Mattheo shrugged and said, âout with Y/n. Sheâs gonna teach me muggle games.â
Four heads whipped towards him and Pansy and Daphne nodded before continuing their conversation. âL/n?!â Draco asked as Theo demanded, âwhen have you been hanging out with her?â At the same time, Enzo exclaimed, âout? Are you dating?!â and Blaise scoffed, âyouâre kidding, right?â
Mattheo, who was shrugging a light jacket on (because the castle got cold in February), turned back towards his friends, an eyebrow raised. âUh, yeah? Y/n? Weâve been dating for like, four months now.â
âWhy the hell didnât you tell us?!â Theo gasped out
âI havenât fucking hid it,â Mattheo said. He waved a hand at Pansy and Daphne. âThey knew!â
The rest of the Slytherin boys rounded on the two girls. âYou knew?!â Dracoâs voice only kept getting higher
âDuh,â Pansy rolled her eyes. âItâs pretty obvious.â
Daphne nodded along, painting her nails. âWe havenât met her yet, though. Riddleâs very protective over his lady,â she sang out. âWe could meet her today,â she suggested with a sly grin. As all of the Slytherin boys voiced their agreement, Mattheo glared at Daphne
Thatâs how you ended up teaching the majority of the sixth-year Slytherins how to play Uno
Mattheo was highly disgruntled by the entire thing and kept muttering to himself. He only shut up when you kissed his cheek. Theo and Draco were in constant argument over the rules, since you had taught them âstreet rulesâ and were too busy explaining to Enzo how the reverse rule worked to mitigate their argument. Daphne and Pansy had teamed up to try and Blaise was weirdly good at it
They didnât even seem to mind that you were a muggleborn
As all people are, Mattheo Riddle was a nuanced person. He was sarcastic, witty, and hot-headed, but also touch-starved, flirtatious, and confident. He had his ups and downs like anyone and the two of you managed all of your combined emotions together
People definitely noticed the changes in Mattheo. Whereas he used to slouch in the back of the classroom, staring daggers at anyone who dared interrupt him, he instead made more jokes with his friends and it wasnât uncommon for his sharp smile to lift his lips
He grew more cocky and he attributed it to the fact that you were on his arm. He loved to flirt with you, even though you were already dating. He would make cheeky little comments and provocative jokes that had him waggling his eyebrows at you
You once made a comment about how you thought he looked very sexy in his uniform and ever since then he had put a bit more effort into his appearance. He would put a bit of mousse in his hair and make sure his tie was knotted correctly. Quidditch kept him fit and it paid off, especially when the two of you were making out and you ran your hands over his biceps or dug your nails into his hair
Mattheo loved showing you off. He was big on PDA. Once you two had had your first kiss, he couldnât keep his hands off you. His arm would be around your waist, a hand resting on your hip as you walked through the corridors. If it was a weekend and you didnât need to wear your uniform, he would slip his hand into your back pocket. He adored the thrill of dragging you to a secluded little corner and snogging, even if you warned him that someone could find youÂ
He had broken off all of his past flings early in sixth year, before the two of you even started dating and if any one of them made a snarky remark about how he had downgraded, he was quick to storm up to them and start a shouting match (he would never hit a girl, but he would track down their boyfriends if they had them and beat them to a pulp)
Yes, Mattheo still did get into fights even though you two were dating. He had gotten really sullen after the first time it had happened while the two of you were together, like he was expecting you to break up with him, but when you had simply nodded along to Madame Pomferyâs instructions on how to apply to healing cream she had given him, he relaxed. Now, it was common for him to go to your dorm instead of the hospital wing
His tendency for fighting had decreased, mostly because he didnât go looking for them anymore, but he would still square up if anyone said anything. He tried not fight in front of you, though
His biggest turn on was when you wore his Quidditch jersey with his last name on your back
He liked to listen to The Smiths and really connected with their music
Mattheo also liked to draw. He was oddly good at it and would draw hazy scenes from your relationship where one couldnât tell who the people were, but you could recognise the Astronomy Tower from your dates
He kept one of your hair ties around his wrist. It was a silent reminder to everyone that he was taken and he liked to play with it during classes
He was obviously incredibly wealthy. All of Bellatrixâs money went to him while she was in Azkaban and the Blacks were one of the most affluent wizarding families. That, combined with the money Voldemort had amassed when he was in power was enough to last Mattheo generations. He also had many properties to his name all over Britain, but wouldnât get ahold of them until either his parents died, or he turned of age
Mattheo really liked the slow moments with you. He loved to lay his head in your lap or lay on top of you and have you trace the scars on his body. It made him feel better about the scars he had gotten from fighting or his father, now that Voldemort was back. He would never ask for it, but he would always look up at you a bit expectantly whenever he wanted it. However, he would never let you touch his forearm where the Dark Mark was. It was clear he was ashamed of it and didnât want you to think of him in that way
As sixth year winded down, Mattheo got more and more on edge. He was in the tower when Dumbledore died and he was eager to get onto the train back to Platform 9 and 3/4 when the year was done. He hated the idea of going back to Malfoy Manor where both of his parents now were. You wanted him to spend the entire summer with you, but he knew his parents would never allow that. Instead, he got Blaise to say Mattheo was staying with him and his family for three weeks, when in reality, Mattheo was with you. Blaiseâs mother had no ties to Voldemort, so she was fine with her sonâs lie
The weeks Mattheo spent with you were heaven in his eyes. The world seemed brighter and later, he would tell you they were the only weeks of the summer he allowed himself to remember
You showed him all around the muggle world and it was glorious. Mattheo could leave his last name behind, especially because your family didnât have a clue what the Riddle name meant. You had told your parents that Mattheo had a difficult home life and they were more than accommodating
He got to sleep in your bed which was the highlight of his time (not because of the sex â though that did happen â but because of the proximity to you)
On the day before he had to go back to Malfoy Manor, Mattheo took you aside and quickly pleaded with you not to attend Hogwarts for your seventh year. âY/n, I canât fucking put you in that position,â he muttered, gripping your hand. âI- I canât save you from everything that will happen.â
Yet, he understood why you had to go. Mattheo attended with you and you saw a different side of your boyfriend. You saw the side that grew up with the hierarchies and Sacred Twenty-Eight
Hogwarts was hell. You and Dumbledoreâs Army tried your best to help every underclassman you could, but many of them were scared of you because they saw you hanging out with Mattheo
Mattheo, meanwhile, was like royalty. The Death Eater teachers gave him special attention and the best grades. By proxy, you were also treated as such. Mattheo made clear from the very start that whoever touched you would face direct consequences from him. He was given the position of Head Boy and you would sleep in his private dorm every night so he could ensure you were okay
He, along with some other Slytherins, were called away every once in a while by Voldemort and thatâs when you felt most exposed. The dementors seemed to gravitate towards you, as if they could feel your fear, and you even went so far as to lock yourself in Mattheoâs dorm during weekends
Things reached a boiling point towards the end of the year. The Battle of Hogwarts was inevitable. Mattheo and his friends hadnât been in class for a week now and when the Death Eaters came marching up to the school, you could pick out your boyfriend from just the way he walked
McGonagall gave you a look when Harry Potter showed up, but you only stared back. Love would not get in the way of doing what was right
The moment the battle started, Mattheo made it his mission to find you. He dropped his Death Eaterâs cloak and raced around the castle. Dodging curses and jinxes wasnât the thing that got his heart-rate up â it was the idea that he might turn a corner and your dead eyes would be staring back at him
He found you telling off Colin Creevey for sticking around for the battle. You were near the Room of Requirement and were trying to get the young boy to Aberforth when you spotted Mattheo. The two of you collided in a hug that spoke more than you could ever say. âOh, thank god, thank god,â you whispered over and over. Meanwhile, Mattheo was pressing kisses to your forehead, chest heaving
He nearly growled when Colin Creevey took a picture of you two
(He later got the picture from him)
You ushered Colin out to safety before turning back to Mattheo. âIâm getting you out of here,â he declared sharply. You knew better to argue
As you were running through the halls, the two of you practically crashed into the Golden Trio. You locked eyes with HermioneÂ
Mattheo had always had a complicated relationship with Harry Potter. He couldn't deny the jealousy he felt of Harry. Even though they were both in very similar positions and thrust into a life neither of them asked for, at least Harry had an adult support system and people who genuinely loved him. Mattheo had you, of course, but there was a father and mother figure hole in his heart he could never truly fix
After a moment of charged indecision, Mattheo stepped to the side. The Golden Trio nodded in thanks and went on their way
You squeezed Mattheoâs hand, pride flowing through you
The two of you found your way to the Great Hall. It was there that he locked eyes with his mother. Bellatrixâs eyes flitted over to you. She cast a dangerous red spell across the room and then stepped over dead bodies and rubble to get to you, slowly. âSo youâre the girl that has captured my son,â she breathed out and Mattheo stepped in front of you. âOh, come now, Matty,â she cooed. âLet me admire her.â
âNot happening,â Mattheo snapped.
âImagine my surprise,â Bellatrix continued, âwhen I find out that my son is sending letters over summer to a mudblood,â she spit out. You tensed behind her and gripped Mattheoâs hand
âMum,â Mattheo said harshly, a reminder. Bellatrix raised her wand faster than you could comprehend and shot a curse at you. Mattheo shoved you out of the way and it singed your shoulder. Before you knew it, mother and son were in an intense duel. The Great Hall parted, doing nothing but watching, as the two forces clashed. Spells lit up the room. You wanted to intervene, but couldnât risk Mattheoâs concentration being broken
Bellatrix was a powerful witch, but Mattheo had both her blood and the blood of Voldemort running through his veins
He had no qualms when it came to killing her
The Great Hall seemed to hold its breath as Mattheo stared at the place where his mother used to stand. Slowly, his head turned to stare at you. You were quick to race over and Mattheo was eager for the comfort of your arms
During the brief break in the battle, Mattheo refused the burning of the Dark Mark. He knew his father wouldnât hesitate to kill him due to his treachery. Instead, he sat with you as you held him close. You tried to cool the intense pain in his forearm with some spells, but it turned out that numbing the area with ice worked best. You ran your hand through his hair softly, letting him begin to process the emotions working throughout him
You said in the castle with him as Harry duelled his father. Mattheo didnât want to see himself be made an orphan. He held no regret over what was about to happen and when his Dark Mark finally faded, both of you knew it was over
It took months to get back to normal. Mattheo didnât want anything to do with the Wizarding World. He knew his name would follow him until his dying days. He took you to one of his properties in a far off corner of England â not to hide away in, but to recentre himself. Eventually, in the back of the garden, he erected two tombstones for his parents
Mattheo Riddle proposed to you on your fourth anniversary when you both were twenty. Your wedding was a small affair, but he couldnât help but admit he loved to see all of his old friends again. There was a weight off of everyoneâs shoulders that made it more light-hearted
He hired Colin Creevey to be your photographer
Mattheo took your last name but kept Riddle as a middle name. He couldnât completely part from it
His favourite part of your wedding (apart from the wedding night) was having the first dance with you as husband and wife
After a couple more years, you two moved back into the Wizarding World. You bought a house on the outskirts of a small wizarding community where the war had hardly touched. It was a lovely place for friends to stop by and was very homey
Mattheo spent his time loving you. Mornings were slow and calm and both of you needed that time to unwind and be young again
He would come up behind you in the kitchen and weave his arms around you
Mattheo liked to slow dance with you in the living room
He also gained a greater appreciation for muggle things and liked to incorporate them into your house
He liked to work with his hands, even though he could easily use magic. He built a storage shed in the backyard
Mattheo also joined his friends weekly to play Quidditch just for fun. It got him out of the house and really did help his mental state
Theo and Enzo were the people most likely to drop by randomly and you were all too happy when Daphne and Pansy tagged along
When Draco had Scorpius and you went over with food and to meet the baby, Mattheo was terrified to hold the kid. Seeing you hold the kid however⊠ooh you had a fun night when you got back home
His proudest achievement was definitely being your husband
Mattheo began writing letters to Harry Potter and the pair met up every once in a while in Diagon Alley
Hermione, now Minister of Magic, pardoned Mattheo soon after she came into office and spoke highly of him to the press. Neither you or Mattheo attended the ceremony, but you did send Hermione your thanks and love
War had aged Mattheo and you. Trauma was a complicated thing that waned in its healing. Nightmares plagued him more than they did you and while he knew they would never go away, things had gotten much better as time went on
Both of you were content to go about your life together and hey, if your family ended up growing, Mattheo wasnât complaining one bit
