What story is Luz from? And why are they dead

Luzente is a dnd character! I have yet to play them, all I know is that they're an asshole and a warlock!

The short version of why they're dead is because they were pushed off a cliff with pointy rocks at the bottom. The long version is they tried to summon "some powerful evil being" and failed. Then the next night they somehow ended up in Calado's dream cave-palace, totally by coincidence, not related to the summoning at all. And since they're not religious, they tried to make a kind of pact with him, but he was all "hmm you're missing something, try again later". And then they were pushed off a cliff and impaled by the pointy rocks at the bottom. As their consciousness started to fade, they returned to the dream cave-palace place, and Calado was like "ahh there you go" and revived them with powers and the same obligations and privileges of his normal clerics (half his clerics are actually warlocks in disguise like Luzente). So now they travel the world being an undead fake cleric. Basically Breu but dead and more evil.

Not to be confused with Luz (the "sugar baby") who is alive and from the same story as Leader and is just a sad nerd. Kinda like Shiloh but instead of medicine he's into computers.

#now that i think about it one inspiration for them is memórias póstumas de Brás Cubas #they both are dead and have no filter #just say whatever dumb or offensive stuff they think of #luzente #they're bad. will befriend you for a week then disappear without a trace like a ghost #leaving you wondering if they were real or if you hallucinated them #ok time to sleep can't let my brain think of more pox/shiloh ideas
