HE’S JUST... DIFFERENT. that was the thing that rowan heard most in relation to nico. in relation to her friendship with nico. with every social media post that contained both of them came a barrage of comments about how if you had to pick two people who were polar opposites, it would be them. to many degrees, it was irritating. she was a grown woman; she was capable of making her own decisions in terms of friendship. nico’s friendship was a decision she’d made and also one she’d stuck beside, and would continue to do so til he gave her reason otherwise. “there’s a rally today, against net neutrality. do you want to come with me? i don’t know how you feel about the cause, or anything, but i know sometimes you want to come along.” if rowan were to tell the truth, she felt a lot safer when nico came with her. he was taller, stronger, and overall made her feel less at-risk than she’d care to admit. of course, his presence wasn’t required on her ventures, but it certainly did serve as a type of safety net. telling him this was out of the question---- it meant admitting vulnerability and also it might go to his head. // @lvmbardi
