Palawa Joko monologues to the Comm....um...well...to Braham and his pet choya?
I’ve been finally able to finish this piece, started many months ago, one which I had to leave behind because I had far too much work to do. The Icebrood Saga has yet to start so.... am I still in time for a celebrative illustration about War Eternal?
Aaah I had some feelings yesterday when k remembered lw4. No other episode was soooo thrilling and breathtaking for me. The feel of victory and then everything crashs. Eos, barely able to move sees Aurene and it hurt. Oh it hurt him so much. He failed his mission and lost someone who he deeply loved. But then a little spark, a glimmer, and Aurene comes back. I love I so much that gw2 showed us in that moment how deep the connection is between the commander and Aurene. How much love they have for her.
You could say I’m enjoying @thelittlestnorn ‘s playthrough of LW4.

War Eternal was BAD
Been stewing over this since I played the episode and I hope for a very good reason. I just feel the ending to Living World Season 4 was not only a bust, but it truly was the worst episode I've played of LW ever.
First of all, it is far too short. Your typical LW episode has a prelude, then some faffing about in the new map, then some instances to set up the ending and then the final instance where the episode's story ends. War Eternal had the prelude, then some moving about the setting and then the ending instance. I'll be honest, it felt like half of an episode.
It also has a very thin story, not truly managing to feel like a proper LW episode. A lot of the reason why I love playing these eps, is the characters. We got a strong cast with a good amount of variety and personalities. I -care- for them.
I do care a lot for Aurene, but once she started talking, I didn't feel I really got her. She was such a boring typical heroic type with none of the rough edges one might expect from being willing to EAT JOKO ALIVE. It just didn't feel right to have her talk at all.
The end fight is kind of confusing, because the whole point of Kralk having these aspects from Zhaitan, Mordy and Balthazar were that they had nowhere else to go. Yeah, Balthy's could have been avoided, but Zhaitan and Mordy's powers cannot just be poked away. They exist because the dragons do not, but they need to exist. That is the core of the issue in GW2, the dragons are a threat, but killing them will only make things worse as they are part of the world's balance. Aurene can only fill one slot in that mess.
It is especially bad because we just spent most of POF trying to stop Balthy from killing Kralk and now Kralk is gone. Is Primordus next? Or Sbubbles? Or Jormag?
The treatment of Kralk having these extra magic inside of him as bad feels rather tacked on. After all, there is a HUGE line of branded ground from Elona to the northern edge of Ascalon done by Kralk -without- Zhaitan or Mordy's magic in him. Kralk and his ilk are bad news, they didn't go nuts due to getting each other's magic. Rather, these magics make them more dangerous as they -combine- them to make much worse minions. Hence why killing the elder dragons was put on hold. Will Jormag be next, with Zhaitan, Mordy AND Kralk extra powers?
It just felt like they needed a quick ending to the Kralk story and didn't think it through.
The episode also lacks the closeness to Dragon's Watch crew. Sure, we hear of them. But what of Rox joining the Olmakhan? How is Taimi's disease going?
It didn't feel as good of an ending as One Path Ends was. Nor does it feel justified.
I hope future episodes will make up for this mess.
Yesterday I finish the new Mount, after I have some problem with collection 2. Hello and welcome Petey in the Krewe :D
After this, @floral-necromaniac and me hunt some achievement on the new map.
