Because there was Braham hate in the map chat again, and it's always, always about him post-HoT. "Oh he was mean to the commander!"

i'm gonna yap about it.

Let's see, Braham post-HoT is dealing with grief for a parent he didn't get much time with. So a: he feels cheated of his time with her. b: he never got the relationship with her he wanted and now he can't ever have it. c: he's fairly young still.

He blames the commander. Because of course he does!! The commander was the person there that Braham believed in, that he thought could solve every problem and save everyone! He had them on a pedestal. And then they didn't save the one person he wanted to be saved. The pedestal broke and crashed down and dumped the commander into the mud with everyone else. And Braham is grieving and angry and guess who makes a good target for it? The person he desperately wanted to save his mom, who couldn't.

And to get a little personal for a minute: as someone grieving the death of an absent parent, Braham's attitude made so much sense to me. It was real. That's what grief did to me: turned me into an angry ball of depression. It's been ten years for me, and I'm STILL angry. So to have Braham be angry and blame the commander and want to surpass his mother's legacy? Yeah, it made perfect sense. (He's angry at his mother, too). To this day, Braham's character development is one of my favorites in the game, because it was real and raw and they didn't hold back. They didn't make him be nice and cower to the commander just 'cause they're the pc. And that's a good thing!!

It would have been boring if they had.

Anyway. I didn't have a point to this. I was just mad at the map chat. As usual. Braham did nothing wrong and i love and adore him.
