They laugh the same but they don't understand your inside jokes. They walk the same but they don't match your step like you expect them to. They talk the same but your name on their lips is spoken with the polite unfamiliarity of someone who is unfamiliar with its shape.

You fight them and you win cuz you know them intimately and they don't know you. It's the only way to save them but you've still lost the person you had. They know that you know them. They still don't know you.
