jason as robin, the definition of "you can take the man out of crime alley, not crime alley out of the man" who tried so hard to be good, to be robin, to embody justice and detach himself from the blood and horrors he grew up in.
s1 will, fbi agent and profiler, doing all he has to help others even though every single time he catches a criminal, he just becomes closer to what they are. drifting lower and lower in a black hole of violence that feels horrifyingly right.
then jason back from the dead, angry and hardened by what he went through, still empathetic but only towards the weak and the pitiful. his rampage and him shedding a dozen times the blood he was accused of spilling (but never did) without any lingering remorse because he tried and tried and that was never actually him. but jason who still mourned the boy he left in ethiopia and clung to the last slivers of his morality.
then you have will graham, framed for murder and betrayed, gaslit and lied to and so fucking angry. spiraling down and down and down and who, at some point, after so many trials and events and tests that could (should) have broken him or put him out for good, started to let go of all that kindness and morality. but still, will graham scrambling to find a way back up to the light.
and just like hannibal dragged will down to the comfort of the bottom of that hole, i NEED slade to tear those remaining strings keeping jason attached to the bats and their rules and showing him how much it was liberating to do what you wanted to do without people, clearly different than you, nagging you about it being wrong when it feels more right than anything else.
bring the manipulative deathstroke that got dick to agree to become renegade and put him with jason, i'm trying to see something.
