WEDY:

How I feel about this character:

I love how she’s a walking film noir stereotype, and that L hired her to do his cool-ass illegal dirty work… but then mostly made her dig through the garbage and paste together shredded faxes, lol. She’s sassy as heck in those like 2 panels we actually see her in, and I want to know more about her!

People I ship them with romantically:

L, also I think it’d be hot if she somehow met and seduced Naomi sometime… they could go for midnight rides on Naomi’s bike and be a really intimidatingly good-looking criminal/cop power couple

My non-romantic OTP for them:

Aiber! I loooove the idea of them just being bros; like Aiber’s always teasing her because she’s so committed to coming off aloof and cool and super bad-ass, but he knows full well that she mostly uses her burglary skills to just spy on her crushes and try on expensive bracelets and shit

My unpopular opinion about this character:

I don’t know if there are many popular or unpopular opinions about Wedy! She’s not really around enough to make any huge fandom waves.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I wish she’d teamed up with Aiber and cornered L and roasted him good for that ridiculous ambulance rescue scheme that she had to partake in. Those two definitely deserved hefty bonuses for that

do you have any L/wedy headcanons?

oh god, you’ve really opened up the floodgates now. 

- they only ever spend a week or two of the year together, and it is never in the same city twice. wedy prefers grand european capitals — particularly budapest, san marino, and vienna. L is fond of sprawling, windswept port cities — cape town, mumbai, and new york. 

- L has a complete list of wedy’s aliases, which he tracks through international police databases. when wedy wants to be found, she gets herself arrested for petty theft in a wealthy neighborhood. L aways swears that next time he won’t bail her out. (he always does.)

- wedy has wildly extravagant tastes, and runs through money faster than she can steal it. she loves veuve clicquot champagne, and louis vuitton luggage, and first-class train carriages, and chartered yachts. wedy never allows L to pick up the tab, even when she’s broke, because self-sufficiency is very important to her. 

- L is too focused on work, and wedy is too restless. they magnify each other’s self-destructive tendencies, and start to resent one another when forced to share the same space for too long, but they still communicate constantly in each other’s absence. wedy drunk texts L regardless of time zone difference, and L e-mails her links to tabloid news articles about UFOs, and they both send each other corny postcards anonymously.

- L was very reluctant to get wedy involved in the kira case, because he was afraid it might get them both killed.
