ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A woman of color who is heiress of the only region who actually resisted Aegon’s Conquest (= badass), owns her sexuality, is a good person, always so prone to doubting herself and is constantly learning, wants to do the right thing, who’s afraid of being cast aside (for a man!), has friends from all classes and from all over the region!!

and then (parts of the) fandom finds her storyline boring 🤦‍♀️

☕️ I love Jon a lot but the way he’s allowed to have nuance/be morally gray at times while female characters aren’t given the same nuance drives me crazy. Even worse he’s used by the fandom as a form of validation for female characters while I’m like *jake peralta screaming gif* said female characters are complex, interesting, and heroic in their own right regardless of whatever Jon thinks or feels about them

LITERALLY it's insane because like,, we're allowed to talk about the complexity of male characters without it being considered hate but there's only One Right Way to interpret female characters (perfect pure angel or absolute devil) and no one. really wants to acknowledge that? Male characters having flaws makes them interesting but female characters having flaws or making mistakes makes them tainted therefore only ~Villainous Women~ can have flaws. Like Sansa at 11 writes a letter because Cersei manipulated her into it and it's horrible and treasonous but Jaime pushing a kid out a window is fine because he's nicer now,, Brienne came along and fixed him 😌 like do people in this fandom even hear themselves. start pitting men against each other I'm sick of this

Gosh, thank you so much! I’ve definitely mentioned this before, or I think I have, anyway, so at the risk of sounding repetitive: I’m always really flattered when people mention that they don’t watch the show before leaving some compliment or another in their tags. I constantly see gifs, graphics and art from fandoms I’m not in that wow me, and it’s so—rewarding, is the best word I can think of, as well as a little surreal—that people see my gifs and feel that way.
