( I mean considering you’re the reason I’ve thought about these things in the first place… ) Falling in love with Liam is complicated. It’s hard and it’s fast and it’s everything they shouldn’t do. It doesn’t matter to Scott that Liam is his Beta – though it really should – it matters more to him that Liam looks up to him…sort of.
Their relationship is already so complicated. Liam is so angry and Scott takes that anger in. He wants him to put as much pressure on him as he can so that Liam doesn’t explode on anyone else. How many times has Liam thrown a punch right into the center of Scott’s chest, only for Scott to smile when he lifts out of it?
But there’s something important to be said about the Alpha/Beta relationship they share. In a true wolf pack, the female Alpha takes a male Beta as her mate and nurtures the pack from there. So even in true wild relationships, that part of their relationship is more semi normal. But Scott isn’t a wolf in the wild and he shouldn’t be letting himself feel more than the kindness in his heart. ( Liam needs him. Liam breaks his heart every time something new digs under his skin. All Scott wants is to wrap him up and make him really smile – and if that isn’t love I don’t know what is. )
