It was Thursday afternoon and that meant one thing: cooking club.
Elli looked forward to cooking club every day. Sure she taught cooking most of the day to other kids, but these students were here because they wanted to be. This is where they got to learn the cool stuff, the harder stuff. In cooking class Elli tended to stay towards the simple and easy meals that students would need to get through college and the earlier years in life. But cooking club?
That’s where the real fun began.
She was cleaning up after her last class for the day who always seemed too anxious to be done with the day than to properly clean utensils. Honestly, Elli had to learn how to be a bit more strict with these kids. But sometimes it was just easier to shove the rambunctious ones out the door and just do it herself.
It was then that the door opened again. Elli raised her head from her task to look over her shoulder at the new arrival. Lillian walked in and Elli smiled at the student in return.
“Good afternoon, Lillian,” she said pleasantly. “Ready to make something amazing?”
