To answer your mountain ash question! The front door is not protected by it. All you have to do is open the little half door thing to Deaton's little surgery room and the seal is broken. Hence why Cora said they should just go through the front door and Kali could walk inside with Ennis. So if a human opens any door there, like how Stiles could do for Derek, seal broken.
