Sweet Lamb of Heaven Review

I'm going to jump right in with a review of a book I recently finished Sweet Lamb of Heaven by Lydia Millet

I really enjoyed this book. I have read mixed reviews and don't care. I loved it anyways. I loved the language she used more so with the story but connected with the main character, Anna in some ways. 50 pages in I had multiple things underlined and marked. 

Anna is in a marriage that is all but dead, and when she gets pregnant she starts hearing voices, all the time. Which, of course, starts to drive her crazy. She researches what they could be, who else can hear them, what is happening to her. But when her daughter, Lena, starts to speak, the voices go away.  Anna and her daughter leave. At first, Ned is ok with it, he can do his own thing without worrying about it now, but when he decides to run for office and needs them for photo ops and the like, he comes after them. Anna and Lena are living in a hotel with an odd mix of characters and when Anna starts to make connections with all of them, the owner of the motel and the voices while running away from her husband it really starts to connect everything. 

The ending of the book did seem a little rushed and sort of like a dream sequence in ways but what was happening to Anna at the time, I think it was supposed to feel like that. I really enjoyed the book from start to finish. The next day, I bought the hardcover, transferred over my underlined passages and notes from the ARC I read and gave that ARC to a co-worker. Then, bought another book of hers. The story is good, but the writing for me was really what made me love this book.
