Lying Lessons [Thunder & Yura]
Thunder ran a hand through his already messy hair as he made his way into his dorm with a yawn. Glancing at the clock, he mentally kicked himself for telling Yura to come over right when he got out of class and not giving himself some time for a quick nap before their study session. Then again, she had been reluctant to study in his dorm in the first place, so he could only imagine how hard it would have been to convince her to come over at night and not in the safety of the afternoon. He didn’t blame her, though. The only reason he had suggested his room was because he was lazy and couldn’t be bothered to trek his way across campus to the library. Plus, it’s a lot easier to talk about how to best manipulate someone when they can’t hear you; apparently, people find that offensive.
A knock at the door jerked him out of his thoughts. At some point, his room had become a bit of a free-for-all, and he had almost forgotten knocking was a thing people did. “Come in,” he called knowing it had to be Yura and Bono. “Hey, how’s it going? Make yourself at home,” he grinned gesturing widely to the room once she made her way inside with her fluffy companion. Making his way over to his desk, Thunder pulled out a copy of the Manipulation textbook that looked as if it had never been opened before. “Do you want anything to eat or drink? What about him? I don't have any dog food, but I have water,” he offered while setting the book down on the kitchen table. Normally, he preferred to study on the bed, but he knew Yura was already a bit out of her comfort zone and didn’t want to push it.
“So, I guess the best place to start would be what you consider your strengths and weaknesses?” It was meant to be a statement, but his voice held the distinct air of a question. He had worked with friends on assignments before, but he had never really offered to help anyone study, so he wasn’t absolutely positive what the best way to approach it would be.
@yura-ia
lying lesson eight: tell the lie that they WANT to believe, because they've already done most of the work for you.
lying lesson seven: if you can make the facts agree with your lie, then all the better
lying lesson six: if they guess the truth, you're fucked
lying lesson five: when you're about to be caught in a lie, turn it around on them
lying lesson three: telling the lie that you need to tell is easier if you don't know the truth to begin with.
lying lesson 2: only lie when you need to.
lying lesson 2a: before resorting to direct lies, always try avoiding the truth through dumb jokes. either they'll realize that you have no intention of answering truthfully, or you'll have enough time to come up with a good lie.
