Support Lying
So here's a quick story: A few weeks ago my grandmother unexpectedly died, most probably of a stroke that precipitated a sudden fall at home.
This was a shock to everyone but the family rallied round and organised a service for her in the town where she'd been living. A lot of us were in attendance, even more via a livestream of the proceedings. It was a heartwarming event that I naturally would not have missed for the world.
However... that particular town is basically on the other end of the country from me. 3 hours on the train, not much better in a car. Train tickets to get there cost me just shy of £100 and involved changing mid-way. On the day of the funeral, there was a near-hour-long delay to the first train in the chain, so we had to buy whole new tickets on-the-day to reach the destination in time. That set me back another £100. Being the only ticket that was actually delayed, the first is the only one we're getting refunds on, of about £5.
This means I'm starting this month roughly £200 in the hole of my already thread-bare budget. Now I could recover that by burning my savings, except that my savings are for restocking my medication, which is presently a couple weeks from drying up completely.
So as it sits my options are no medication or pause basically everything I can until my next paycheque comes in, in just under 3 weeks' time (including groceries, to at least some extent). This would likely also likely mean stalling development on my much-anticipated side-project.
If you've got any spare change lying around, I'd appreciate the assistance here.
