The last of Gen 7! Only my favourite starters and misc afterwards.
Flying - Celesteela: BIG FRIEND! I really love their design a lot even though it meant that trying to get a photo of them was really difficult.
Psychic - Bruxish: Another I fell in love with as soon as they were announced, and sad to see it’s so hated. I actually really wanted to use one during SuMo but couldn’t find one back then...I do need to breed one for online battles though. I love how their colours match the heal ball!
Bug - Golisopod: Isopods are really rad and I loved that Wimpod got an evolution into something as incredible as Golisopod. Using one throughout Ultra made me love them even more since when Wimpod evolved into them...she demolished everything. I do wish they changed up the ability a bit instead of just renaming Wimp Out but it’s still fun to use
Rock - Lycanroc: Lycanroc is a VERY good doggo wolf that I have enjoyed using in battles. While all forms are good I do prefer the Midday form the most, which I couldn’t get while playing Moon. I wish more was done for Lycanroc in terms of maybe giving the forms a second typing but I still love them. The shiny is A*.
Ghost - Lunala: No spacey edits this time but it’s my favourite legendary overall, Lunala! Those reading these will know how much I love bats, and I also love skeleton-themed things...pair those with my love of space and you get the perfect Pokémon! What really adds into my love for them is how they were tied into the story of the games, travelling with you as Nebby before evolving at the end and helping you before wanting you to capture. I found that such a refreshing change from what we’ve had before. Lunala will always be one of my favourite Pokémon and I’m just so happy it exists.
Dragon - Kommo-o: This slot mainly goes to Kommo-o since I haven’t really gotten attached to Naganadel yet and Ultra Necrozma is a form-change similar to a Mega gaining a type, which I’m not counting in here (and wouldn’t be able to get photo of as well anyway). Kommo-o is still really great and I do enjoy using them a lot! I really like their colours and hoping to start doing some proper battles soon with Ultra to see how my one will work out with the new z-move.
Dark - Incineroar: I was so glad to see my prediction after seeing those early Incineroar leaks were true, and that it looked like it was a dark type rather than fighting. They’re also one of the few times a starter has stuck with me the entirety of a game!
Steel - Stakataka: I love creepy things with loads of eyes so Stakataka was an easy pick. Reminds me a lot of the Guardians from Breath of the Wild as well! I do wish it didn’t have that Rock/Steel typing though...
Fairy - Mimikyu: The Pikachu-eyes kind of messed up with photo but oh well. Who doesn’t love Mimikyu? I adore them so much and really wanted to use a shiny one during Ultra, but ran out of time trying to hunt for one and instead used another shiny level 1 I had saved away. I feel I can relate to them a lot and their typing is also the same results I tend to get whenever I’ve tried online tests.
